This is a boot animation based on the TV show, The Event. Seemed like fun to make it have a Android theme.
Please read. I am not responsible for your lack of literacy or patience to read a few things. Don't say it doesn't work. I have tested it and it does.
This is a landscape boot animation, and has the dimensions of 480x800. If your screen size is different, you can change the desc.txt to reflect your screen size, or just ask me and I will do it.
Not this fast on a phone. Also the last image is the looping image so the whole animation does not start over.

I have included 2 ways of putting this on your phone, a bootanimation.zip to move in root explorer or equivalent, and a flashable zip (PLEASE NOTE, THE FLASHABLE ZIP INSTALLS IN /SYSTEM/MEDIA)
DOWNLOAD
Method 1;
NON Flashable
Move to the appropriate folder for your device and set permissions like this
Method 2;
Flashable
Flash via Clockwork Mod Recovery.
**SIZE ADDITIONS**
All Non-flashable bootanimation.zip's
Android Event 320x480
Android Event 480x854
Android Event 540x960
it looks pretty good.
This looks nice!!! Winning!!!
Looks nice!
Shame the show was cancelled though
Fan of The Event, and a fan of this boot animation! Sucks that NBC cancelled the show. Here's to hoping another network picks it up!
Does it works for Galaxy s2 ?
Thx !
Voted & Thanked..!!!
Thats all what I can do to appreciate tour awesome work..!!!
can you make this in 480 X 854?
to prevent people asking you how to install bootanimation.zip's on any ROM:
here I have a video guide for y'all
Love it! Maybe you should release a portrait one, just a thought.
WOw! Nice! I love it
Just a report, this doesn't work on the cLK versions of HD2 but does work on CWM version..!!!
EDIT: - Here I speak about the flashable version
Tried to install the flashable version on my HD2 via CWM, got a message saying that something was deprecated and could no longer be used after Android 1.5 or CWM 3.0...and that the installation was aborted.
After that I tried to boot into android again multiple times and it freezes at the boot logo and won't boot after 10 minutes...great.

Here you go. A non-flashable bootanimation.zip

And I had a request for a 540x960. Here is that one. Same thing. A non-flashable bootanimation.zip

Nice animation! Can you do a flashable 320X480 please? Thanks.

Ok, the file did not work. The error that recovery gave me is this:
"Amend scripting (update-script) is no longer supported. Amend scripting was depreciated by google in android 1.5 It was necessary to remove it when upgrading to the clockworkmod 3.0 gingerbread based recovery. Please switch to Edify scripting (updater-script and update-binary) to create working update zip packages. Installation aborted."
Neat. I just use folder structure that is very basic and I guess 3.0 doesn't support those files. I put a non flashable bootanimation.zip on the OP in the size you requested.
I have a Vibrant and run CWR 2.5. So it worked on my phone. I'll have to get something 3.0 supports.

This is just something I threw together for fun, after reading one too many posts of people complaining of boot loops and other problems when flashing different ROMs and kernels. It starts with the normal Nexus One bootup sequence, then halts at a BSOD message.

To install the animation, rename the file to bootanimation.zip and adb push to /data/local
Code:
adb push bootanimation.zip /data/local
Check out Random Boot Animations if you want to use multiple boot animations.
Update Notes:
v2.1 - Fixed typo in blue screen
v2 - Increased resolution of X animation, revised BSOD to an Android-related message, including a reminder on how to access the Bootloader.
v1 - Initial release.
Haha love it! I will have to show my co-workers this one.
Haha, nice work! I think this is a great idea. I'll try it when i get home!
Lol nice! How do you apply it and how can i backup my current one?
Thanks
how do I flash this? I tried through recovery but I got a verification failed.
sweet works great with random boot animation script
No one wants to answer because we have to search or they dont know themselves. im sure its a half/half. Little do they know they knew nothing at one point...
It's in system/media and named BootAnimation.zip. Use a file manager to copy it/rename it and then move the new animation in. You can push it from a laptop as well, but I never bothered remembering the commands for adb. A quick search really would have answered your questions. :]
you can push it to /data/local/bootanimation.zip
if you don't want it anymore, delete it and your original is untouched
Just ran it then, looks cool. But why is the X so low res?

Sorry, I was in a rush when posting this, and didn't have time to get back to this forum until a few days later. I've updated OP with installation instructions.

If you push the file to /data/local as in the instructions, your original bootanimation (which resides in /system/media) will not be overwritten. However, if you have another boot animation already at /data/local, you can make a copy of that before overwriting it with this one.

This was just a quick hack thrown together for laughs. The problem is that the final screen needs to be at 480x800 in order to have a blue background. That means the rest of the images will also need to be at that ratio. The original X animation was done at 512x256, and if I rescaled it to 480x800 the animation lags a bit on my phone. So what I did was to downscale it to 240x400, which is why it appears low-res.
If people are actually interested in this I can experiment a bit to see what is a good compromise between speed and resolution.
OP is updated with V2 of the animation! If you liked the first one, you should definitely get this.

Hello all, I'm more or less new to the forums and I just want to say thank you for all the great support and content! So here is me trying to "give back to the community"

I can't see the two images you have on your post.
I'm assuming your talking about the USA flag yes?
Also do you mean the CM7 logo, and if so, just the logo, or the cm7 text under it?
I think just the logo would look cleaner, yes/no?
Those are my banners not attachments lol
Yes I mean the united states flag
by cm7 I mean like a cyan colored flag with the cm7 logo instead of the android logo and maybe 'cm7' or 'cyangogenmod 7' under the 'android' or something, if you think you can make it look good that is
Again great animation and plz n thnx!
Some Android Jelly Bean boot animations can already be found in the forums, so I thought: let's resize it for our Nexus One (HDPI) and share it.
These sample GIFs are smaller and in lower quality than the actual boot animations.

N.B. Animated GIFs play smoothly in Google Chrome, not smoothly in Internet Explorer 9. Don't know about other browsers.
Ah , me too i found this thread after 10 mins,
It looks very nice on Amoled , and it's very smooth
The nexus' bootanim were all very nice
Wow, that is an exact copy of what I made.
Please remove that as being 'original post', as I made it myself and he just copied it. He even uses the GIF from my Dropbox.
Like that
And what are the diferences between the 2 versions ?
Good job too
The difference between the two is that V1 goes from black, 1 animation, to black, 1 animation, to black etc.
V2 is from black to infinite animation. Never return to black again.
Great! Thanks. Will be using this from now on, although I like the CM9-like animation on temasek's KANG, too.
edit:
Thanks to tommert38, of course. OP should credit the source.
Downloaded and installed! Thanks for this ^^

For me, nothing beats the original Nexus One boot animation. I'll never forget the excitement when I switched her on for the first time - the phone that is
That's still my favourite one to this day.
Don't care much for the ICS one, too OTT for my liking.

The ICS one is definitely not cool, but the JB one reminds me of the original one (duh). I think it's a nice variation of that original one (that, in my opinion, already got boring after 1 year).
beautiful, thanks a bunch

do you have a bootanimation.zip in /data/local/? if you do, delete that one first, otherwise system will attempt to prioritize that one over the one in /system/media/
I deleted my old boot animation and flashed this and now I don't have a boot animation at all lol?
how did i put this on my phone? im root running 4.4.2 stock
I think you have yo be using a custom kernel to be able to change your boot animation.

OP and everyone else on stock TW. You need the boot animation file I posted.
It goes in system/bin
Permissions are 0755 (rwxr-xr-x)
That will allow the system to use bootanimation.zip files instead of the stock .qmg files.

OP I made a flashable zip....because I'm lazy and if I don't have to push and set and just have to flash in recovery...that's my way to go.
I made this up
MD5 SUM: a09363e123eb8e23e06be1d0f972fc4c
Flash in recovery
This is my custom boot animation for Galaxy S2 running any Lollipop ROM. (Tested only on Resurrection 5.3.4).
This is my first attempt at it, it seems to work and looks relatively nice aswell.
Current install is trough CWM as flashable zip which installs it under /system/media/bootanimation.zip
Resolution: 480x800
zip size: 18.8MB
minimal animation length: 13s
Credits:
The animations are a custom mix of 2 different animations by medi-dadu @ DevianArt
Rigging mixing and other animation is done by me.
