Current Widget works. Certainly you can log current usage with it.

It's pretty damn simple. It's a widget, download from Market. You set it up, you can select an option to let it save current usage to a log file. End of.
Thx

You might want to try "Battery Monitor Widget" as well.

This is one of the widgets that I tried that for some reason does not show Ma usage. It was working fine when I was running android on my HD2.

Current widget does not work on my Sensation - it just shows 0ma when the battery is draining (it does show a value when the battery is charging however).
On a similar note, has anyone found a way to see which apps are causing partial wake usage? Spare parts says there is no battery activity stats for this ROM when I try to view battery history.

Yeah, I have just discovered that too sadly
my sensation has same problem
it can't show battery current mA usage
try juice plotter,
it shows your consumption with a nice graphic.
Battery indicator pro works great on sensation
Current widget works on my sensation.
Both percentage and mA can be shown.
First impression is a larger consumption than on my HD2 with mdj android

Tried CurrentWidget on my sensation and still no mA reading... can you confirm that you have value on the widget?
Even the market reports that this dosn't work on the sensation...
Cheers
I was a bit to quick with my replay....the sensation was charging through usb when I installed the Current Widget....after removing from usb I have the same problem....
In logging I have 0 mA and correct battery %
Sorry for the confusion!

I think that measuring mA usage is one thing that the Sensation cannot do no matter which widget/app you use.... this is a bit of a shame because mA usage to me is a good way of monitoring battery usage.
Hey ho...perhaps someone will produce an app that will work.
A
it works..
take Elixir... perfect widget for all type of handling or monitoring

Battery indicator from the market works just fine on the sensation. It places an icon in the notification bar that gives you a numeric percentage of battery consumption and has a pop up box that will provide additional information about battery usage.

There is now an update for battery monitor widget and I can confirm that mA now displays properly on the sensation.

Hey!
Mine shows 1450mAh! Maybe wiping battery stats will help... what rom are you using?
Same here, mine shows 1600mAh. Using CM7.

Hi I'm new to sensation dev and I have a quick question I'm use sense 4.0 Rom with faux123 kernel I was just askingif there is a battery mod or something to help save battery?
Oh yeah the Rom is ordroid 8.6.5 4.0.3
Sent from my Sensation 4G
I think there is but I'm not sure of link but wanted to ask are you still stock battery? It helps a lot if you upgrade to a longer lasting battery say like Anker. I use Anker and its made a huge difference in my battery life. Also after flashing rom, make sure battery is at 100% then plug into charger, go into recovery, wipe battery stats, then unplug. This helps a lot. Also make sure things like sync is turned off for things you don't need, stop non needed running applications in the background, turn off blinking notifications , turn off feedback vibration ect, make sure backlight is minimum brightness, doing these things with a better battery will really help you! You will be surprised how much more time you get with Anker battery. I wish you the best! Hope you get the better battery because is really made a difference !
ps I'm running Ordroid 8.6.5 also

Yes there is. Look in my signature and chose the power-saving option from that page it leads to. It is extremely good and although it only ever uses one core I can't notice a different in speed, only an epicly increased battery life!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You might be getting a wakelock. You can download "better battery stats" and run it and it will let you know which app is causing the wake lock if any. If no wake lock is present, could be time for a new battery. But first see if wake lock is happening. This could be draining the battery. Read a bit about wake locks. You can google it. Hope this helps you out. Best of luck. Here is a link to the apk better battery stats. It also explains wakelocks.

Yes seems the problem is your battery. No wakelocks. Try another battery and see how it goes
Yes, because your not having any wake lock issues as above post suggested it's time for a new battery. You can get a extended life battery for under 20 dollars. Most people prefer the Anker battery. People have had great luck with that battery. Hope this is helpful. Best wishes

One suggestion before you purchase any new battery
Make a Nandroid Backup of your current ROM and install ARHD with Stock kernel and check...if you get the same results then definitely you need a new one....and if your battery life is good again then you know what to do
Hope my idea works..... finger crossed...
Edit: After this experiment.. let me know the results

1 suggestion.... after installing any ROM, give some time to sattle down the ROM as well as kernel... min 3-5 full battery cycle... means u can stay it with 4-5 days...only 1day will never give u the correct result...

Hello everyone,
Just yesterday i hav installed GSAM battery monitor app and when i check the 'battery used by apps' status in GSAM and in built-in battery monior, there is a big difference in stats measured by both these apps.
(Took screen shots of built-in battery monitor and gsam at the same time) For example the built-in battery monitor shows 'battery used by stock browser is 50%' while the gsam battery monitor shows it around 7%. (Plz see attached images)
Why there is a big difference in stats of both these battery monior apps?
My phone has Jb and it is S3.
Sent from my HTC One S using xda app-developers app
Still odd but the built in one is not counting the screen time but GSam is and I think the % of the app is of the 78% if you get what mean.

No HTC stop the doing screen time with JB and I mean 79.5% was being lazy and not looking at the pic again lol what I mean is think of that as 100% and the apps % is of that but could be wrong not really added it up to make sure but ether way the built in one is crap because it don't show everything because there would be no way browser could get that high.

Yeah could be, the built-in showing the wrong info:S or may be it is showing info in some other way.
Btw has ur phone got JB? And does the built in battery monitor in ur phone also shows a high usage for stock browser?

Yeah i was thinking the same. Because for almost every app it (built-in battery monitor) is showing high % than GSAM battery monitor.
May be built-in is showing apps % as an aggregate.
But still it showed a very high % of stock browser as compared to gsam :S

There is absolutely NO such thing as "ROM controlling the charge speed". What you have misunderstood is that a new ROM needs some charging/recharging cycles to understand the battery capabilities. Again, nothing to do with Wiping battery stats etc. Search in the forums for battery stats after new ROM and you will find your answer.
