I'm wanting to flash my Galaxy 3, but incase something happens, a lot of you say you roll back to your old firmware, well I don't know where to get that. My phone is from Vodafone New Zealand, and I can't get 2.2 because they won't authorise the updates. I can't find 2.1 for Vodafone online anywhere. So what do I do if it doesnt go as planned, or I have a hardware fault and I have to send it back? Where can I get the Vodafone Firmware?
Cheers, Sam.

hi does anyone have the official release of orange rom from uk? i can't find it because i want to flash imy phone back on it's own factory settings. thank you
There is no official release of the Orange UK ROM, but I did create an installable ROM from a dump of my Orange UK TyTN II before I started flashing. It can be got from here; http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1586817&postcount=2
thank you... but i m still having same problem with sim lock ....
You flashed a different Radio ROM didn't you.. That Sim-Locks Orange TyTNII's.
Check the stickies for the SIM Unlocker which is what you'll need to do to fix it.. Note that there is no Orange UK Radio ROM available and so you'll have to flash a different one.
I'd dump mine but:
a) It wont be the version you had anyway's as I seem to be the only person with 1.27.14.32 on Orange UK..
b)I've not actually seen a way to rebuild the Radio ROM even if I did dump it.
oh... finaly... unlocked... now i guess i can flash what rom i want?

No no no, I had (ephasis on had) that rom and really need a dump of it. I know I cant easily reconstruct into a flashable rom but I'd like to have a dump to be able to play with ready for when one of the brain boxes on here comes up with a solution for reconstructing a dumped radio.
So... do you still stand by your offer to dump your radio? I'd be ever so grateful

You can indeed flash anything you want
Hi having SGS I9000 branded by Tmobile Czech republic iam quite unhappy with GPS which is unable to get a position fix. I remember that on the Eclair it worked well.
I was told by support that there is no way i can revert to Eclair.
So iam thinking of going forward for Froyo 2.2.1 which i was told is far better then 2.2.
What concerns me is how to get phone to original state in case of some problems to use warranty.
I know, that its not possible to download current FW from phone, but i would like to be sure that i can restore Firmware by firmware from internet.
And i dont know for what carrier will look for to see wheter there is original firmware or not.
PDA: I9000BOJPB
PHONE: I9000BOJP3
CSC: I9000GTMZJP5
Build info: 2010.11
PCode: GT-I9000HKDTMZ
I have found this (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=11607165) but its said that its a fake(??) and also CSC differs.
Q1: Can i backup the PDA/PHONE/CSC via ODIN and then combine them with firmware listed bellow?
Q2: How can i tell that firmware is fake? Is there some emulator or something to see it?
Thanks for answer,
MP
Basically i got a xoom 3g a week ago i unlocked, rooted, backed up, and flashed ics. Ive been having trouble with the screen, its does not respond to my touch quite alot of the times, i need to take it back for warranty.
I restored my back up of honeycomb which is where im at now
Im in australia and baught it on a optus 3g plan. Build is h.6.5-17-1 (does not appear on motorola website)
I need to get rid of cwm recovery and replace it with the original boot loader and also lock the device but keep the current build.
Im very new to this and have no idea what im doing, help would be appreciated, please reply as if i was a 5 year old.
Thx
Check the stock files stickied at the top of the General section. You are likely to find what you're looking for there. Those stock image files are usually earlier builds...if you flash the correct one for your device you should be able to update OTA to the build that you had originally. Just make sure that it is the correct one for your device.
If you rooted, you should be able to restore.
thanks. I flashed the Telstra files and it all works, but the problem is im with Optus ( a difgerent Telco) I cant find those roms anywhere.
When I flashed the telstra 3g rom it places the carriers app, and changes settings and bookmarks etc for the carrier.
I need an optus 3g rom to flash, i dont care what version as long as can run ota to bring it up to 3.2 (which is what i purchased it as stock standarD)
Hi,
I am hoping somebody can help me out. I need to unroot my phone and put it back to completely stock ROM so that it looks as though it has never been rooted. I am not running a custom ROM, however I have removed things from the stock ROM (stock browser, SMS and probably other things) when I first bought the phone so I need to be able to get those back. I assumed I had made backups of them using ti, but apparently I haven't (who knows what I was thinking).
Anyhow I am hoping maybe there is someone here from New Zealand who can tell me where to get the official Telecom XT stock ICS for the Atrix 2 MB865. I assume I am right in thinking if I flash that and then unroot it will be just as when I bought it? If theres anything I am missing here please let me know.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
I have just been given this link elsewhere
http://sbf.droid-developers.org/edison/list.php
It appears to be GB though, does anyone know if I will have any issues if I flash this, given I have already done an official OTA upgrade to ICS
It seems like most advise against flashing back to GB. And no, there doesn't appear to be a TNZ version of the ICS firmware available.
I've always flashed this firmware 6.7.2_EDEM-18-MEARET (in firmware superthread) to get back to stock. Works fine on my Telecom Arix 2, just have to add the apn of whatever network you're on to get 3G working.
It will restore fully to factory settings, no root or anything.
Hi everyone,
I flashed the leaked ROM I9505XXUFNA5 to my GT-I9505 LTE back in January when it came out, all went fine. However, now when I try to flash the official Android 4.4.2, say I9505XXUFNB8, via odin v3.09 the process will fail after 20 seconds and I have to flash the leaked ROM again in order to have a functioning phone. My phone is carrier free and it is not rooted. Can anyone help me please !
Thank you in advance,

You just killed your EFS :/
You still got a chance:
you can stay with the leaked rom, but you will have to install the latest "modem" (included in rom failed to install) while you keep the romactually installed
thats the only way it can be lucky and may be EFS get back to work may be. I suppose you dont have any EFS backup, so if restoring it fails that way --> you will have to get it repaired. Will be at least 40$ i think...
There a many posts on xda about EFS, but once gone, it is gone. Feel free to read some hours about it

1. IMEI code is not messed up (it's the same as the one on on the package);
2. I still have carrier signal;
3. I can lock the sim card by pin code
Do you know other signs that would lead to the conclusion that the EFS file is broken ?

Carrier free it means that my phone it's not sim locked in any network. My phone is working fine. I just want to install an official ROM not to stay with the leaked one. I want to install the one for my country so that when I connect to samsung kies via PC the csc and pda of my phone to match up in order to receive updates or to simply for KIES to recognise my phone. The bottom line is that I find it strange that I can't flash 4.4.2 product code COA (Romania) I9505XXUFNB8.

Thats due to its a branded rom you tried to install (COA = cosmote branded).
Here is the unbranded version you need (ROM = unbranded for your country):
