Im currently using cyanogen's 5.0.8test1 mod on my G1 but i wanted to know if there is anything better out there and what peoples opinions are
Screenshot differences would be good, or just tell me what you like about one version that isnt available in another
look in the rom bible or on androidSPIN.com
Cyanogen is the base for every 2.1 ROM, so what is better than Cyanogen!?
Best rom
Best 2.1 is happy rom best overall is htc clay xperia rom
I would go with SuperBad 1.5 from HTCCLAY. That rom is a beast. Or, you can wait for a new version of SuperBad which should be out today or tomorrow.

Please don't start a new thread for this kind of question. You're going to get 5 different answers. It's much better to research the options and try them for yourself. Like others have said, check the ROM Bible.
First thing I would do is learn to read the forums rules.
Second I would learn to post in the right section.
Third go learn what a search button is.
Fourth and finally… Figure out for myself what I wanted from a rom the go to the top of this forum and read the rom bible.
P.S. If all the above proves to hard… Go buy an Iturd!
What is best is a matter of personal taste. Therefore, "what's best" threads are not allowed. Furthermore, the development forum is ONLY for development threads. For any future questions that need answers, post in the QUESTIONS & ANSWERS sub forum.

Is there a Sense 2.0 Rom out there that can be used as a daily?
I travel out of town for work, So I need something with little to no Fc's and good battery Life.
Any suggestions would be appreciated

Juzz,
Thanks for the reply and sorry I forgot to mention that important info.
I have rooted DINC w/ amoled screen
thanks again
Ken
No worries mate.
I know literally nothing about your device, so I'll play it safe here and point you to this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=969371
That's the ROM round-up sticky in the DINC thread, which should be a good help. The DINC Q&A forum could also get you an answer from someone a little more qualified
Good luck Ken!
Thanks for the link
As a developmentle question there was a thread posted in the development section saying there were few roms for the infuse. I am here to say that i would love to help with this question bye working on a rom what im here to ask is if some one can help me get on my feet and point me the right way. Me too. I tried making this thread a while ago to no avail. Maybe we will have better luck now.

The process for creating ROMs on the userland side is pretty generic to Android, you may want to do some generic Android research.
Personally I'm fine with the level of ROM development. Quality, not quantity.
I am perfectly fine with the roms we have as well but i would also like to strech my horizions and be able to contribute. "Having roms that we are fine with doesnt meam there should be less development" with that said i would like to return to my first post and get.sone.help in learning

As I said, do some searching. MikeyMike01 has a pretty good tutorial located somewhere else on XDA - captivate forums maybe? Or generic Android possibly, I don't remember.
Thank you for the reply i will look into that.
P.s. This is the kinda response people need to hear

I found this. Hope it helps.

This is a request to mike 1986, Sergio76, LeeDroid, CdTCroiD, baadnewz, NRGZ28, Frankinstine, damo and to all great chef out here and specifically to capychimp + robocik who already cooked a ROM with sense 3.5 for Desire HD.
Is it possible to port sense 3.5 for sensation? It is ported to Desire HD
video link : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4N3wJqpnkwE&feature=related and it looks good. (at least something new and fresh).
Will qHD of sensation make it tough to port it?
I would like sensation chef cook one with sense 3.5.
I thought it was aimed for the lower android devices?
But my question to HTC is...why make a bad thing worse?

First of all you are an idiot.100+ posts means you would have at least once seen the Announcement saying "No Questions in Development"
Secondly, Ask this in the Q&A Section a.k.a QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
Im sure all cheft are aware we just have to be patient just like a bunch of us are waiting on cm7.

Honestly dude, he may not have went about it in the right way, but he is correct. Post questions in the Q&A section for a chance of getting an answer. It's not like a dev is going to stroll in here and say, "You know what, sense 3.5... I hadn't thought of that." If you post in Q&A you will at least get a yes or no if it is possible.
The following video explains it all.

Well yes i probably should have worded it a bit better or nicer. But people asking questions in the dev section is getting ridiculous now! I may not be a genius but when i joined the forums i took the time to read the rules and the announcements and haven't posted questions in the development section either (besides one that i couldn't get the answer anywhere else and i requested it be moved once i had).
Also a search (in the rules too) for sense 3.5 sensation shows the same question in the Q&A Forum with answers.
Sense 3.5 is super fast...a lot if the bugs are worked out

i agree. but i was expecting some friendly reply from some chef saying 'its possible', 'nope', 'i am working on it' etc,.
all the reply i got back is basically from non-chefs/ non-dev's saying 'stupid' , 'search' , 'wrong section', 'post it some place else' 'dont you think chefs know about this' etc,..
and you guys think i dont search, and I am a stupid that i always post a strictly Q/A question in a Dev post and i believe that no chef actually know about sense 3.5....
i simply thought of asking this question to all the chefs and i just asked it... and i thought this is the right section since here is where all the chefs post.
i do understand the responsibilities of keeping the forum clean, helping others, giving directions to new comers etc,.
but this is not that... this is simply *****ing.
Mods, please close this thread. I think i got the answer for my question.
well i dont see the point really even if we got it booted it would be useless since its impossible to resize it i tried decompiling the apks in the m10 editor but they wouldnt decompile

thanks dude. seems like hard to do. Its not about the widgets. most of the sense apps are really polished and screen rotations are nicer and menu icon in apps like phone etc,. are aligned and looks nicer. that's the reason i am really impressed with 3.5. will wait and see if htc is going to release this for qhd devices then.

This is where all the chefs post, but that doesn't mean you can break the rules just because you want to reach them. How many times have you seen people post in here because they bricked their phones/have problems rooting because "this is where the chefs post"? You should have posted in the chefs' ROM threads or contacted them directly bub.

Just read on the portal that the Evo 4G got it ported for theirs. Wanna get it and give it a whirl and see if it works? We are HTC lol
Don't mean this in the wrong way but I have gotten ballsy in the past and some have worked for me. You never know

um... if u did a search u would know that rcmix and xboarder are working on it seperately. xboarder got it to boot but there was a kernel problem.
The devs know about it and are working on it, next time do a "search" lol.
You should pm romanb he loves his tweeks and would probably take a stab at this...who knows

To answer your question:
Based on the video, the device looks like its HDPI or even MDPI. Sensation's qHD, meaning even if I resize all graphics to fit the aspect ratio, it would likely be pixelated. Correct me if I'm wrong..
Furthermore, Sense 3.5 is like a stripped-down version of Sense 3.0! Apart from performance increase, its fugly. No point.
I'd rather help out porting CM7 than to port Sense 3.5 (If I did know how to dev..)
Lastly, to highlight what some of the others have said: Pls post this at the Q&A..
Thanks..
Looking for recommendations on a Non-Sense ROM for the Inspire. Prefer Gingerbread over ICS.
Looking for battery life and functionality.
Cheers.

Wonder how long it will take to have this thread closed?
Bad question. There is no such thing as BEST. All ROM choices are dependant on many factors but especially your own preferences. What I think is best is not what the next person thinks is best. It's all opinion and we have a ton of opinions already. Another thread is not needed.

Download and try them out. That is the only way to find the 'best' because each user has different experiences. Rule of thumb, the less the phone does, the better the battery will be.
Ok, let me re-phrase then. Can anyone point me to some Non-sense Gingerbread ROMS.
I have found ICS and MIUI Non-sense, but not many others. The ones I have found have too many visual mods etc. Looking for a stock (ish) gingerbread.

Thanks, I have done a lot of leg work and have not found much that is why I am asking. Maybe there is something I missed along the way that someone can point me to.

You will not find many GB roms as most have moved over to ICS. There is CM and a few others.
As stated above there is no best as each rom will run differently on every device.
