Is anyone having trouble using bluetooth and wifi at the same time? For example when I turn on bluetooth to stream my music I cannot surf the web at the same time because it's really slow to load pages. Once I turn off bluetooth, the wifi works at full speed.
When you connect to your phone with bluetooth it shares the internet connection. It may take precedence over WiFi.
That sucks. Does this happen with all tablets? My zoom is the wifi only version.

If I go into a location that has WiFi and turn on my connection on the phone, will Opera automatically utilize the WiFi connection or continue to utilize 3G?
I tried it today, and although my phone said it was connected to the WiFi access point, the internet was painfully slow . . . much slower than on a laptop WiFi connection.
Thanks!
Any developers out there know if it it possible to port the Internet Pass-Through feature [aka Reverse Tethering] of Sense ROMs to AOSP ROMs?
There is a thread here which talks about in length but it is not a simple or trouble-free process.
If HTC can do it, surely it can't be that hard! I would love to be able to move to an AOSP ROM on my One S but cannot go without the Pass-through feature.
I'm curious about how you got pass through to work? Hasn't worked for me yet because the drivers never install when I plug my phone in. And, if it did actually work, does your phone use it like WiFi so WiFi calling works? That'd be what I need it for most.

We don't have Wifi calling on the EU phone, but then we are rarely out of range of a cell.
To get Pass-through to work, it is just a matter of connecting the phone via usb to a computer and selecting Internet pass-through from the pop-up dialogue box
BUT:
There are issues with certain firewalls. When I got the phone I was using Bullguard Internet Security on my laptop and I could not get internet pass-through to work via the firewall (it worked fine if I disabled Bullguard). I spent about 3 hours online with a Bullguard technician who was unable to solve the problem.
I have since removed Bullguard and installed Microsoft Internet Security Essentials. There are no firewall problems with MISE.
You must have the latest version of HTC sync installed for Pass-through to work.
Internet Pass-through allows the phone to connect to the internet via your PC's internet connection. I use it a lot because I spend a lot of time in hotels all around Europe. When I am out of the UK I do not use roaming data (too expensive) but I always have internet in my hotel room. This is either a wired connection, or (more often) it is a WiFi connection for a single device only. I use the hotel connection for my laptop and the pass-through connection for my phone.
I am not sure if this setup would give you WiFi calling as I am not really sure how that works (does the phone differentiate between a WiFi connection and a wired connection)? It would allow you to use Skype or another VOIP service to make calls.

I agree that it would be cool if devs could port this to other roms.
Just on the off chance someone might get some use from it, here's what I do. If you're travelling with a laptop and your hotel has Ethernet, it's really easy to set your laptop to broadcast an adhoc network to share with your phone.
I know it doesn't help with hotels that only have WiFi for one device, but with places that have Ethernet and WiFi, I find that tethering to my own laptop gets me a much better connection, and it means I don't have to lug around my router.
Sorry for the OT, back to the discussion
Some apps out there require WiFi to operate properly.
Two examples:
XFinity TV Go - requires WiFi connection to operate
SlingPlayer - requires WiFi connection for HD quality (highest quality option)
Using WiFi is not a big deal, but considering that I am able to use ethernet it seems counter intuitive to use WiFi instead.
Is there a way to emulate a WiFi connection over ethernet?
Hello.
I already put this on the OnePlus Forum but had no answer. Maybe on XDA someone will manage to help me out.
I bought a wifi little device to stream music to my car Stereo and it worked great on my old iphone. I want to have the same result with the OnePlus but I’m having some trouble and need someone help.
This device has the ability to get Airplay and DLNA streams for mobiles connected to his wifi network, everything works great on iphone and on the oneplus. I use Airplayer app on my rooted OnePlus and I stream music on my OnePlus to my car stereo with no issues and with great quality.
So what’s the problem you ask.
The problem is loose my 3g connection as soon I connect to that wifi. So on my car I loose internet, cant receive emails, whatsapps, cant stream from spotify, etc etc....
On the Iphone works great, the dhcp of the router on this little device don’t send the gateway and dns to the iphone. And the iphone understand that its just a local network connection and route internet traffic through 3g. The iphone is smart. I was hopping that the ONE Plus was that smart and do the same thing, but he doesn’t. As soon I connect to the wifi of that device, my OnePlus disconnect the 3g Network instantly.
How can i have my OnePlus connected to the wifi of that device (to have Airplay or DLNA) and stil have internet???
Please help me... I'm driving crazy.
My wife has internet on her iphone while driving and I don’t???Dammm LOL
A workaround not a fix and I haven't tried it myself but maybe have a look at netup, as it is supposed to combine bandwidth on both wifi and cellular it might keep the connection up when you're connected to the car hotspot?

Thanks for the answer but I tryed the app and it works only on YouTube and other limited apps. Doesn't solve my problem to stream from other sites and maintain connectivity to receive emails and whatsapps while on my car with airplay enabled throught that little router. Thanks anyway.
Hello,
I have a question that has been bothering me for a while now.
How can I use 3g/4g internet and wifi at the same time on android? I know that there are some apps that allow this 2 network functioning, like download booster or Speedify. But is there a way to have 3g and wifi at the same time without any apps? I succeeded having 3g and wifi simultaneously on iOS by changing wifi to static and leaving DNS and Submask empty. However it does not work on Android.
It is important for me because I have a device, which creates its own wifi station and when I connect to this device I cannot stream video from my android device at the sime time by using my internet provider 3g/4g.
