I used a kindle charger I had lying around and now my official charger won't work.
Ideas?
I couldn't get the Kindle cable to work at all for charging.. However, the Samsung cable works on the Kindle charger. Odd..

After upgrading my Xoom to ICS 1.0.0, my Motorola dock will not charge my Xoom while docked like it did before using Tiamat 3.2 Honeycomb. However, the supplied Motorola Xoom AC charger does work both now and prior to the ICS upgrade. The Motorola dock appears to charge via the USB connector but does have its own power supply that plugs into AC. The supplied AC charger uses a different single pin connector on the Xoom to provide power (not the USB port).
Is there a known problem with ICS 1.0.0 that would prvent me from charging using the Motorola (USB) Dock as I did before ??
Please advise. I love ICS 1.0.0 but use my Motorola dock heavily to keep my Xoom charged while I use it from my desk.
Thanks in advance for your help with this.
I also have problems while charging my Xoom (ICS 4.0.3).
When I plug in the charger it's say charging then disconnected, charging then disconnected, charging then disconnected ...
It's very annoying. I just can't charge it correctly
Sometimes it shut down 40% and I have to charge it.
Very peculiar. I set my xoom on my Motorola HD audio doc every night without issue. Perhaps you could wake up at 3 am and shoot me a logcat
The dock actually doesn't charge via USB. It charges by those two pins to the right of it making contact with the bare metal tabs on the bottom of the Xoom. If you only have one pin like you say that is your problem. AC electricity, well all, needs an in and out or battery and ground. Just one pin won't cut it. Also, Try adjusting the tab while It's in the dock. Sometimes mine won't see it and charge, but if i shift it slightly it starts charging fine. Did you change cases or remove a case. The dock has two sleeves...one for with a case and one for without a case. Sorry if you tried all these. Just trying to help

Thanks everyone.
When I checked the pins on the dock, I found that one of the pins was not springing up high enough to make contact with the Xoom contacts. The dock pins were not repairable so I just bought a new dock on eBay since they are not really that expensive. Thanks again.
So what is the usb port for then because there is nowhere to connect a usb port to the dock?

Hi,
Anyone is using non ASUS Charger/Adpater using ASUS USB Cable ?. My ASUS power adapter ping came out and I am not able to use it. So I tried APPLE USB adapter using ASUS USB Cable but it does not seems to charge. Also, I tried several others and none of them seems to work either. Is there any specific in original ASUS Adapter which is required so it will not work with any other charger ?.
This is because the TF needs 11v+ to charge where regular usb charging adapters only provide 5v.
See the DIY TF101 charger and other charging methods thread for more info, there's a lot of great info in there!

5v charger will not work You need 11v on charge pin. Go to electronics store get dynex video camera charger . Use usb adapter and set voltage to 15v . Also provides an auto adapter capability.
Using a standard USB charger will work, but slowly. I have used an iPad charger and it charges about 10% per hour with the screen off. Does not indicate charging and will not charge with the screen on. Using a standard USB, same results but 3% per hour.
Either get the Dynex or a new ASUS adapter. Then you can charge around 35% per hour with the screen off, or charge with the screen on.

Technically correct, but I don't consider 3% /hr with TF off as charging.

Hello All,
I recently purchased a new TF300T, and it initially charged fine with the original wall charger. Within the past 2 weeks, I've been using my dock, and I noticed my tablet won't charge using the original wall charger. The only way my tablet will charge is I have it hooked up to my dock, and I connect the dock to the wall charger.
Everything on the tablet is stock.
Any idea what's up?
I've had this issue too, it appears that the tablet IS charging, but neglecting to mention it. I've read somewhere that it might be due to a firmware update, which hasn't been identified.
My advice is to watch it while the charger is plugged directly into the charger, if it doesn't show any charge going up then that's confusing, because if something was wrong with the charger it wouldn't charge your keyboard. :\
I recently picked up a used TF300T with a shattered digitizer. I managed to successfully remove/replace it & the tablet is working fine.. except for charging. It turns on and says the battery is at 1% and needs to be charged. When I plug it in to charge it, it doesn't charge(just stays at 1%).
It came with a genuine Asus USB cable & what appears to be a generic USB wall charger. When I connect the tablet though, it registers and the screen comes on. When I plug it into my PC it also comes on and registers(so I know the USB cable and charging port on the tablet are fine).
I do have other tablets(iPad 3, iPad Air, Surface Pro 2, etc..) and tried using the wall chargers that came with those, but still no luck.
I'm assuming then that I have to use an actual Asus wall charger meant specifically for the TF300T? Or do you guys have a link to one that will work?
EDIT: -- Ok, I just tried another generic that I have here. It's a 5V 2.1A and the tablet is actually charging... oddly though, it doesn't show the charging icon nor does it say it's charging... but it is.
You need a 15 volts adapter not 5 volts!

The weird thing is, the Surface Pro charger I have is 24... and it charges just as fast as the 5 I used last night. I borrowed an Asus brand charger today and had no problems at all with that.

I got a couple of $10 charging pads off amazon and they work fine with an old LG (4.8v 1a) and an even older Blackberry (5v 700ma) power adapter.
Well I discovered that the .7amp and the 2amp do not work but I had a 1amp
That ened up working from my gs4 mini. Weird but works perfect now.
