Hi all,
i'm testing Notes Traveler at work (push mail with Lotus Notes), and this app is using an "Android_ID".
When i tested this app for the first time, i was rooted with 2.3.4 stock rom.
i decided to install the full 2.3.4 stock rom an other time (first time it was an upgrade of the 2.3.3...) and when i had installed Notes Traveler again, the Android_ID detected by the app had changed, so the Traveler server was not able at all to log me...
Know i would like to root my phone again, and test customs roms, but i can't change "Android_ID" eatch time, because the work Traveler servers admins are not going to accept to change it eatch time i will test a new rom......
I don't know how to save this ID, or the app with datas (but at this moment i'm not rooted, so i can't save datas.... only apps...
please help
Up please don't forget me
nobody can help me
Can you just backup the Notes Traveler app and then restore it with the resulting data via TiBu when you flash a ROM?
By the way, people from all over the world visit this forum with very different schedules, some one will see your post on their schedule, begging for help doesn't usually go over well...
Now on to your problem, search this site for "edit build.prop".. Its almost universally the same for most devices... Or download absolute root tools.. You can edit the build.prop with that..
*edit, Not totally sure what your stock rom id is, maybe someone else can assist with that if you'd help and tell us what kind of phone you have ???

[Q] gingerbread 2.3.3 calendar issue
before updating to 2.3.3 I was able to click on either a address link or phone number in the calendar and it would open google maps or the keypad.
after updating the address and phone number link it opens "Verify the phone number"
is there a way to fix this?

HTC Sync problem now...
I am rooted and have loaded the rooted 2.3.3 rom, and flashed the radio/ril.
When trying to sync my calendar & contacts with HTC Sync, it connects but won't sync. I get "Your device does not have enough free memory."
I have 1.7gb free on sdcard, and .92gb free on phone. ALL I have checked is People & Calendar. Any ideas???
I was able to sync right after downgrading with AHK, but not now after flashing the latest rooted stock rom.
I need my contacts & calendar... on my phone... and like being able to use sync on my desktop, because Outlook has some calendar options that aren't on the phone calendar.

Yes. First I clicked "check for update" on sync, and it said "up to date". So I uninstalled, and noticed the version # on the HTC site was later than what I had. But still no worky... It connects and shows my device, when I click sync now, the bar goes to the end then says not enough mem.
I ended up exporting my contacts to a vCard file and putting on my sdCard and loading them that way.
Still wish sync would work though...

Stock rom root beore update or update then root?
I'm a noob and this question may have been asked but not finding it if it has. I have a stock htc inspire with 2.2.1 and baseband ver. 12.39a60.19u_26.06.06.30_M. I want to update it to the new 2.3.3 GB but not sure if I need to root and down grade radio first then update or do the update and then root it. I have been reading and I believe its safe to go a head and update then root and install a custom rom or a rooted stock rom with alot of bloat ware removed. I just want to make sure before doing anything cause really not sure if you need to down grade radio first then root or update then down grade radio if you have to. Plus it does make sense to update then root seeing you loose root once updated but really not sure if it matters. Just want to be able to root once I update to 2.3.3. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks

Root first since it'll wipe out whatever you've got on the phone anyway. If you do the update, then you've just added an additional unneeded step.
The ace hack kit will work with either version so don't worry about that.
Gene Poole Thanks for your reply. You say

So root the stock 2.2.1 then put the rooted 2.3.3 rom on it and it will down grade the radio and be rooted to the 2.3.3.

Update to the latest ROM version (try Overcome Kratos while you are at it). The Gingerbread email client from Samsung has this feature included. There is no need to look for a different email app.
Can I just install gingerbread?

Cheat man sorry to bother you but i've sent you a PM a few days ago ... did you receive it? ...
@OP: you have to flash Gingerbread (aka GB in these forums) or just update your Galaxy Tab using Kies (the update software from Samsung).
Provided I don't think you are familiar with flashing stuff, check out Samsung Kies first. You can download it from the Samsung Website:
http://www.samsung.com/ca/support/m...softwaremanual.do?page=MOBILE.SOFTWARE.MANUAL
It is the safest way and far easier.
@Misoginul: I never got your message! I just PMed you as well... check if it worked fine.
Cheers!

First of all you need to root your phone even If you don't want to flash any custom rom. The reason is you want to remove some of the system applications. After rooting you can use titanium backup to remove these app. But make sure you have nandroid backup if anything goes wrong.

Good evening, good news i succesfully made my phone s-off and rooted it. (2hours) Now i got a question: i try to remove twitter and facebook. The application installer removed it from the phone because i saw the data going down, but i still have the icons in my programlist. Is there any way to remove them, without booting a hole new rom. As you can read im still a newbee here.
Btw titanium backup says im succesfully rooted. Yay, Hope someone knows a answer.
And Xda Congrats with the 50.000 achievement
Boys keep up the good work !

Congrats and welcome to XDA. I would never go back to anything other than an Android OS. It is so much more customizable than anything else out there. I would say read through the forums and see what you can do and what you can tweak. Also, if you get bored you can try flashing different ROMS and see what you like best.
I was already member of xda years before in the time of qtek 2020i. (guus they called it then xda or mda. But unfortunally i lost my account from then, so had to make a new one. Otherwise i was not a newbee . For now i still like the stock ROM of htc. (stable and all functions work. Unlike the bèta verions of ics)

I accidentally in my samsung galaxy gt-i9070 with root idiot browser because system folder deleted. Can it start no longer is but also clearly because Yes the system is away. So far I need I now a rom if I lie correctly on each if I need help so I the handy again in gang wars thank you times in advance.
First of all, I sympathize with your sufferings which tell us NEVER accidentally delete anything using root explorer. Secondly, I think you should search for a ROM yourself in this big forum cuz only you are fully acquainted with what your phone needs. If you can neither find a ROM nor find a person to give you a ROM, you'd better go to ask those who sold you the phone for help and it won't take you too much time or money, considering it isn't a hardware damage at all. Thanks.

could someone please help me because I would hate that it ends up in the garbage, and I buy a new. Please please help me!
check this post it will help you to install firmware http://www.teamandroid.com/2012/06/...-to-android-2-3-6-xxle2-gingerbread-firmware/
So you where rooted... Than in your download folder you'll still find some rooted things, so your warenty is void. You SHOULDN'T go to the ones who sold you the phone cause they'll find out! I suggest you find the stock rom and root after you reinstalled it. Can you flash your phone correctly?
