Grooveshark alternative?

Hi, wondering if someone has found something besides the official grooveshark app? I had nanogroove on my touch pro2 and loved it. I do not mind paying for the app, but I only want to pay ONCE not monthly. I do not see a need to pay for something monthly that I will probably not use ever month, just when the occasion arises. Does not have to be grooveshark specifically either, just an app that i can type in an artists name of song title and it search and stream it. Thanks in advance.

I came from the TP2 and loved nanogroove... Took me a while to find a replacement. Search the market for "Song Storm Lite" .... You won't feel like you are missing nanogroove anymore. Plus it puts the file automatically in your library instead of having to do the groovy.mp3 rename trick

No go for song storm? No results for me in the market. I use Music Junk, but you will have to Google to get that, the apk isn't in the market.

Wow, Tunee is awsome! Its the most straight forward and simple music search engine I have ever used.

All the apps posted above are great but is there an app that you can queue songs?

Song Storm Lite
Ya just so you guys know the app isn't available on the Market anymore. Grooveshark asked me to remove it last friday so as of this Monday it is no longer available (it was only a matter of time). I'll maybe host the .apk file on the ****ty website i have up for the app or just release the source code this weekend. Let me know what you guys think. I want to keep it working in the future b/c most of the other apps have a smaller libraries and I can't find the music that I want.

[Q] Is there a Zune controller?? Like the iTunes controller?

Subject sort of says it all...but is there one out there?? Can't believe theres one for iTunes and not a proper one for Zune....I mean one that looks built in so we can get some WP7 and Windows 7 integration going on here.

I use Zune on my PC religiously and if I could use my phone as a remote it would be awesome!

+1 Surely one of the devs on here could come up with this!

yup Zune desktop is awesome, I now use it religiously for music and videos.

Remote Control on the Marketplace does it and even shows the album art in the background. It also controls VLC, WMP, WMPC, Sound Mixer, and PowerDVD.

Theres an app called remotely possible. You can control most media programs. It costs $5. Its not as responsive as youd like but it does work

Which one are you talking about I cannot find it. The ones I've seen none of them look as slick as the iTunes one....

Ah, one would think that MS integrates across platforms. They don't and this is a major cause of frustration by users. Save yourself the aggrevation and only think of MS as providing stove-piped solutions. This will make your life better. Of course I haven't been able to do this and I get frustrated at least once a day because of it. I'm guessing that I'm too far down the caring path and it's going to take a major effort to get over this affliction.

its called remote control and the icon is a broken up antenna in white on a black background. Dev. name is Jerome laban I believe. It works great and looks fine. I don't give a crap what it looks like. It works awesome for all the programs it controls and is easy to setup. That's what matters.

Not a bad player but it doesn't find any lyrics.
Tried 6 different mainstream albums.
MIUI seems to find about 99% of lyrics so it's still my favourite.

is this better then PowerAMP?

Something isn't adding up though. The person who reviewed it says he found the app here and links to this very thread.
Could be some sort of malware or spam, I'm not sure.

Even if it's decent and legit, there doesn't appear to be any "owner" of the app, so it may never get updated. Is it a motorola product that was ripped from some phone that's out?

I believe that this is a legit music player from Motorola because I found a video on youtube from the site Mobileburn.com that shows a new connected music player on the Cliq XT. The player looks exactly like the screenshots on the blog post. Also someone brought up that the file is dated for tomorrow which to me means that maybe Motorola intends on officially releasing this tomorrow.

does this have widget? and is able to create playlist? those are just my 2 criteria.. i found doubletwist's UI to be great, but it lacks the 2 feature i need..

This is the same player that is on my Milestone2 and I like it. It is a combination of several programs that I used to have installed on my Milestone1, TuneWiki and Soundhound.
I prefer the layout of the actuall TuneWiki program for the full screen lyrics, but to save space and with the integration into the default car dock program I am sticking with it.

Updated the refresh interval to 4 hours instead of 2. (This can be manually changed in Settings)

Question for anyone that is using that app, if you have used the Rootz Wiki Forum you notice it takes you to the webpage because they do not have the TapaTalk plugin. Do you like that it uses the in-app browser or would you rather it open your default browser and use that instead?? Would love to hear you thoughts!

First off, if you were to keep up with that app you would know that guy abandoned it. Also he did not develop it at all. He used appyet just like I did, hence why I said "put together" I never said I developed that app ever. The icon is defiantly different, I am still looking for a new one but got this one for now due to the first one not displaying correctly for the notifications. I like Flowly a lot, but seeing that it would no longer be updated I decided to make one like it and keep it updated when appyet updated the code, and keep it current with all the new feeds. Also this is temporary while I work on my own that I actually developed, once that is done it will replace this one.

If flowly is abandoned and grilledbacon picked up where it was left off, I'm all for it. Good stuff, grilledbacon.

Thanks been looking for a replacement for blinkfeed now I can run nova prime again.

I would prefer that it open in my default browser dude. So that I can carry on reading articles in your app after the links have been opened in the browser. This way I can read on my browser later.

I really like the idea, good job. However, I'll wait till you put it on the Play Store to receive the updates immediately without having to visit this thread again and download the new APK. Another thing, can you please add Ardroid.com to the app (and yes, that's an "R", not an "N")? It is an Arabic news site.

I just looked in the Play Store and there's already a TechTalk... That might be a bit of a problem...

I'd actually like to be able to use both an in-app browser AND my default browser. BUT if I had to only have it one way, I definitely want to use my default browser. Also in regard to Flowly, which I still use religiously, thanks for picking up the ball after it's abandonment.

I have noticed that, too. But I think he can maybe change the name?

Just used the app for an hour. Ignore my earlier comments about needing an external browser. The current implementation is perfect.
However, I would still like the ability to delete some sources. Great work so far! Thanks Dev!

Awesome app, very nice to have all the news in one place, but the app icon is really plain. Maybe some material flare would be nice. I mean no offense by that. You did a great job getting it all into one app.

I'd assume so. But since I found this app because of a post in the XDA Portal I'd probably suggest changing the name before it becomes too widely known. Better to rename with 50 users than with 5000 users...

Android App for One Plus

Hi,
Wanted to reccomend an app built for One Plus Dark theme mode, it's a really convenient and comfortable keyboard which is big as is and exactly for the average user fingers and for people who are like(ly) to type a lot. What is really special is that it has a mode of flying letters off of the screen and it is really dark in terms that it doesn't faint your eyes with some truly exhausting pretty colors. It has simple design which allows to type specifically on One Plus continuosly and without abbriviations you usually do when you're not up to your small keyboard. It's big, it's just comfortable. So just try it out and tell me what you think. I'd like to hear.
