Contacts not showing

I searched the forum and saw this question being asked a couple of times, but no definate answers....
Running Dr Gonzo's WM6.1 and the contacts are not displaying. They are there, as they do display when pressing the green button to dial. How to rectify this?

Are your contacts saved to SIM? As far as I recall, SIM contacts are hidden by default in the WM6.1 Gonzo ROM. You can enable it or better yet, save your contacts to memory so you can store more contact fields.

No it's contacts stored on the phone (restored with PIMBackup). I reflashed again and then they appear, but after a while (and setting up phone) they disappear again. Very strange indeed.

I had the same problem a couple of times - WM6.0 Neo rom - When the contacts dissappeared the phone was also running very slow - I did a hard reset and restored a backup from the day before and it was ok again.
It been ok now for a couple of weeks, so a mystery as to what happened.
As far as I can remember on both ocasions I was looking at a contact, when the phone rang. After I had taken the call I noticed I could not see the contacts - but they were still visible with the green button - maybe something got corrupted?

I've had the problem before, I just replaced the battery with a spare that I had and charged the battery and all was fine. I was running WM 6 at the time can not remember if it was the official HTC WM 6 update ROM that added extra features that the shippedROM did not have or wether it was Gonzos New Guava WM 6 ROM though.

Text Messaging Issue

I have had my Hero for about 3-4 weeks now and LOVE it (coming from Touch Pro) the only problem I have is that when I add a new contact and want to text them, I get get a text back from them but under a different name, like the contact I previously added before the new one?!? I have to delete the whole thread to get the right name and pic of the person I am actually texting. This is very frustrating and hope someone can help me find a fix to this. Thanks!

i m having a same issue.. my all txt mesages going under bankofamerica alerts thread.. doesnt matter who its from...i m so mad about this i tried hard reset.. master reset.. tried installing chomps sms, handcent sms, same issue..

All sms programs retrieve the information from the Android OS which is actually responsible for handling the information. That's why you are seeing the same thing no matter what program you are using. But quite frankly I don't know what's causing that. I remember reading about it before, but I'm not sure if people ever came to any resolution.

well it seems to me that you need to flash a new ROM to your Hero, try MCR or Fresh, or just update with the sprint update from the settings menu. Since it is Andriod OS based error, try that if that does not work, take your phone back to be exchanged.

ok well i am about to load the fresh rom.. hope fully this will fix the issue..thanks for the input..

Thanks Flip and codelockdown...I am like certifiedsinner and tried handcent but same problem, I loved the UI but it was a bit buggy and I found myself going checking the stock sms program when i got a message so i uninstalled but I will def consider all those options, i may just end up waiting for 2.0 or possibly 2.1. Thanks again guys!

Sadly, the bank of america issue is a known one and I haven't seen any real fix for it.

Wierd problem with Universal WM6.1

after use of 2-3 days when I have atleast 100 unique sms threads, when I type a line, (usually fast), characters appear very late. I don't know why is it so?
I need a fix to this and I dun wanan opt out for WM5 again coz I love threaded SMS feature. Even turning to normal view didnt help me. Even after i emptied my inbox :/
I installed nothing. Its just same stock rom as it was installed on my Phone (Tomal 7.0 through 8.5, rdosti's roms, thingonaspring's). Tomal's 7.1 stayed longest on my phone but I really got annoyed of the SMS writing lag.
Can anyone propose a fix? through another ROM / software / reg tweak?

Wrong texts + wrong receive/send organisation

Hi, im the proud owner of a HTC Sensation, and yesterday I took the plunge and root it, i started with trying out the Revolution HD rom, but superuser would keep force closing, I tried reflashing it and nothing, tried reflashing the rom and nothing, tried updating from market and it wouldn't leave the ''preparing to transfer'' screen. So i changed rom to Insert Coin and now I've been having some problems with my sms's... The thing is when I receive a text message, and reply realy fast the received text message becomes my bottom text message instead of beeing the one i sent.. And also when I use punctuation on words like ''estúpido, é,'' I see them correctly but the person that receives those messages sees it ''estypido and i...), i'm writing correctly but the words/letters that my gf receives are different. Also my calendar isn't syncing with google/facebook's calendar I have them all checked in the calendar app, but still nothing happens. Circle Laucher widget doesnt get the contacts pictures either. These errors only hapened after flashing the ROM I mentioned above. Can someone help me out here? Big thanks!

Any help please? Or ill just flash another ROM, I didn't want to because I like this one but if noone answers I'll just try the ARHD again...

Aparently this is a problem or with android 2.3.5 or with sense 3.5. Because with the ARHD rom with 2.3.4 and sense 3.0 my messages are all correct. But with the INsertCoin rom, or a stock 2.3.5 and sense 3.5 rooted ROM my messages get messed up... That just sucks because I love the new sense animations..

Here I go talking to myself again.. Well the calendar thingy got solved by formatting the SD card, wiping everything before flashing InsertCoin again, I for sure love this ROM but it gets on my nerves that I cant write correctly, in my language (portuguese) we use a lot of ''accents'' like mãe(mom) and many other words and everytime I use a word like that it shows up correctly on my phone but the receiver gets differente letters (mye for example) and some symbols like @ appear diferently too (not many but still anoying), and whats even weirder is that on everyother app (facebook for example) everything looks correct, and IS correct even after I Upload it... It would be a great Help if some ''expert'' could tell me how to solve this..

[Q] Contacts Force Close

Ive been using Eagleblood 1.9 Based on the OTA GB 2.3.3 for months now with no problems. Just recently i experienced an issue with my contacts where it would force close sometimes when trying to edit or create a new contact as well as trying to change the display options. **This only happens when i have my facebook or skype accounts added to the phone and syncing contacts with them **
I have tried re-installing, using the stock rooted 2.3.3 rom as well with no luck. Contacts works fine if i go to Settings > Accounts & Sync and remove all of the accounts there. I also used the Rom Manager to fix permissions, cleared contacts data and re-synced and the only thing that seems to work is like i said remove the accounts completely besides of course my Google account!
Cant seem to figure this out tried looking across the board for the same issue but havent had any luck has anyone else had this experience as well?
The error i get is the usual force close no other option on process "android.process.acore"
--- can any1 help with this?
Update: well i answered my own question if anyone is experiencing this you need to format everything internal sd & ext sd, ive lost all my back ups and apps and text messages as well as pictures not backed up however ive installed everything back on that i had and somehow this is gone! weird!
