WiFi Signal Fluctuates - HTC Inspire 4G

I just recently rooted my Inspire and the WiFi signal is fluctuating a lot. I don't have this issue with any of my computers or the other smartphones in the household. What could be the issue. I also updated the phone with the recommended radio for the ROM.

I think this is due to some issue in 2.3.3 android wifi drivers. I find more fluctuations on 2.3.3 than on 2.2.1 on the same network at home. Experienced this issue on Captivate. So applying the same reasoning to Inspire too.

I have the same problem.
On nightly build #78 wifi is great
I recently flashed too 80 build wifi has some problems for me.

Alright that is good. I was thinking something went wrong during the rooting process.

[Q] HTC Thunderbolt no data network connection

I have been running Das Bamf GingeRemix v2.1 with Imoseyon's leankernal. I upgraded to version 3.4.0 of the leankernal, and I have lost my ability to connect to data networks. I attempted to revert to version 3.3.8, however I am still unable to connect to any data networks. I understand at least one other person has run into this problem, and would appreciate any help available.
Thanks.
I had that issue when I switched roms recently. Pulled battery and it came back. No idea what happened

[Q] 3g/4g Switching Bug? Post here

OK, so I'm trying to round up all of those who are experiencing the 3g/4g radio switching bug. In a nutshell, it's this:
In the middle of a data-intensive process, the radio will switch several times from 3g to 4g to 3g to 4g, and over and over again. Often, it will cause disconnects, failed downloads, and interrupted streaming audio, etc.
If you are experiencing this bug, please post in this thread, and be sure to include whether you have the US or EU version of the phone. I want to consolidate all those with the problem into a large thread, so it can get more visibility.
Hi,
I have exactly the same problem with my One S.
When the phone idle, the connection is 3G but when i use the data, it switch to 4G/3G/4G/etc...
As you said, it cause disconnects and and sometimes resolving errors.
My phone :
HTC One S 1.53.401.2 (stock rom)
Kernel : 3.0.8-01050-ge2a40ab
Baseband : 0.15.31501S.19_10.12.31501S.06L
Build : 1.53.401.2.CL47230
Operator : Free (France)
Same problem, with a SH23 EU phone and firmware version 1.53.401.2.
It switches from 3G and H (which is more 3.5G or 3G+ than 4G here), but I didn't experienced connexions problems (but haven't had many opportunities till now)
EDIT: Sorry, didn't see that another thread already exists in General forum.
same issue here, same firmware

I'm with the same phone and same behavior exactly.
I've already notified HTC about t a week or more ago.
I believe this is due to EU software. My reasoning is this:
On my T-MOUS One S, everything is fine on stock firmware with root. I NEVER experience this problem, the only switching I ever get is when I'm on a fringe area with NO 3/3.5G. As soon as I flash a rom that is based on EU firmware (all of them basically), I can't run speedtests without data being interrupted and the status bar shows switching from H to 3G repeatedly. No, this is not a scientific test by any means, but once again I have no problems whatsoever on my T-Mobile US stock rom.
T mobile does have the bug
It is because the T Mobile base is programmed to not switch from 4g but I assure you I own the phone and if you do speed test you will see this bug is definitely present..
I've been doing speedtests since I bought the phone.. it never happens on mine
whether you like it or not..
Guess you have the magic device that does not have the bug which everyone else has..even though tmobile acknowledged the issue already as well as the people with the EU version which also has the bug..

Signal Drops - More Frequent Each Day

Hi Everyone,
I'm experiencing serious signal drops with the HTC One X LTE. It used to happen once a week, but now it happens like every 30mins, which is drivint me nuts. Can someone let me know if it is a hardware issue or a software issue.
I'm currently using the CleanRom 4.1. I flashed the phone right away, so I'm unsure how the phone is like on stock rom. I'm curently with Rogers Canada.
Force your phone to use only 3g . I have had this issue... Click on my profile and read my previous post.

I'm already only using 3G. I turned off LTE because it was draining my battery like mad. With only 3G i'm still getting terrible signal drops
Its happening to me too. On stock and on Cleanrom. Starting to piss me off. Even going into airplane mode sometimes freezes
Mine was dropping a fair bit on stock 1.77 and moreso on AOKP and CM9 based ROMS.
I found updating to Telstra 1.89 firmwares has fixed nearly all my connection issues on 3g/lte and wifi.
Try going into recovery, and clearing cache & Dalvik, then reboot.
Simple fix (and certainly won't hurt), and might not fix your issue. But its cleared up signal drops the few times I've had them.
I really think it's more network related. I saw a lot if this on 3G before getting the HOX. Seems to have cleared up in my area.

Get your carrier to give you another SIM. Fixed my issues and cost me nothing. Cause the iPhone micro Sims are too thin and don't sit right in your slot. The new still cards are thicker

I actually had this issue on cleanrom 4.1 only so I flashed back to cleanrom 3.1 and I haven't had a single drop since. Lemme know if this helps.

JellyBean WiFi signal

On ICS, in my room I get 3 bars when connected to WiFi and it never drops.
On any JB ROM, my phone sees the connection at 3 bars but when its connected its only 0-1 bar. 1 if I'm lucky. I'm sitting right next to my router and I'm getting only 3 bars.
I changed the WiFi region code to USA already and doesn't help at all.
Is there a radio I should flash or a modem? I'm on the latest firmware. 3.33 I believe. I'm on Bruce's cm10.
Is this a known problem?

if you are on tmous i believe wifi disconnecting\not connecting is a known issue as well as low signal on jellybean all around. U should consider urself lucky that you get any wifi connection I can't use jellybean roms because I need wifi and when I activate wifi it keeps losing signal then eventually causes my phone to reboot.
I don't get data at all on Cm roms so your doing pretty good with data and Wi-Fi.
I am however on a jelly bean rom that I received both good data and Wi-Fi. It's paranoid Android. I'm happy with that rom. It seems the others I can't get any data.best wishes

Bluetooth and Network connection dropping out.

Hi
In recent weeks my phones connection to the network hasn't been available on and off and my Bluetooth has had issues too. I've spoken with my carrier and they assure me it's not their fault.
It seems to have gotten worse over time and I suspect it's a hardware issues after too many mis-caught dropped finger-slipped phone incidents.
I'm s-off rooted ARHD 6.8.0 3.32. Do you think there's a chance if I upgrade the firmware it may resolve it or am I flogging a dead horse?
Much appreciated.
