[Q] Differences to Rooting Methods. - Eee Pad Transformer Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

What are the main differences between the below rooting methods? Can both be used using firmware version V8.2.39?

Only the bottom one will work for 8.2.3.9. Neither work on 8.2.3.12+. Luckily you can still roll back to 8.2.3.9 from 8.2.3.12/13 and use the gingerbreak method.

[Q] Z4Root of Samsung Intercept with Android 2.2.2

I recently upgraded my Samsung Intercept to Android 2.2.2 and now Z4Root is not working. I'll assume my carrier has blocked whatever method Z4 was using to get root access. This was by far the easiest and safest method I had found to temporarily root my phone. Am I out of luck or is development still going on for the application? Is there a safe method for rolling back the update to a previous version of android.
how did you upgrade to 2.2 after using z4root on 2.1.
apparently z4root changes some file permanently even after rebooting/unrooting that prevents installing the 2.2 update.
so how can i get 2.2 on my phone now?
lemora
I only used the temporary root for that very reason.

What is the easiest or most reliable current root method for the idol 3 model 6045i?

I've been looking for a guide to this process. I'm not very familiar with the Alcatel phones so I was wondering if there is something I can follow to get this done without breaking my phone.
What rom is on the phone? If it is running stock mm, you'll have to downgrade to lp.

SM-G930U (Unlocked US version) root?

I've got the SM-G930UZKAXAA arriving today and after a ton of searching, I can't figure out if there's a stable root for it. Do I use the AT&T method with the engineering image for that device?
Also is there just one thread that has solutions for all the problems rooting seems to be giving it?
Honestly I don't even need root that badly, I just want to use Titanium Backup to bring over my apps from my Oneplus 3, since Helium won't work on an encrypted device.
Yes, follow AT&T root directions with EngineeringBoot for G930U. The only problem I had was the wifi saving. There's a couple different ways to fix that. I used S7_or_S7Edge_Fixes_Debloater_V15.zip from: http://forum.xda-developers.com/verizon-galaxy-s7/how-to/how-to-notes-root-install-xposed-unroot-t3411039.

How can I root the gs7 verizon baseband g920vvru4api3?

I tried a few outdated methods not for this version and it just bricks the phone or doesn't work. Is there a working root method for this version? Can I flash to a previous version, root and upgrade? I'm new to the forum but somewhat experienced with rooting/flashing. Thanks for any help you can give.

This should work for you since you're running MM (6.0.1) - https://forum.xda-developers.com/tmobile-galaxy-s7/how-to/root-files-t-mobile-s7-t3488067
If you upgrade to Nougat though, this won't work.
EDIT: Btw, don't try putting TWRP on unless you are able to unlock your bootloader. I'm pretty sure it will flag your KNOX bit too or you might run into a situation that I'm in with DRK errors/IMEI being gone (due to issue with EFS partition). Basically my phone can't be used as a phone anymore.

MZ617 4.1.2 root and updated ROM?

I've got a Verizon MZ617 that I'd like to root that is on 4.1.2 but can't seem to find anything on rooting this device versus one of the MZ60x devices, and not sure if the process is the same?
I'm also wondering if the ROM's for the MZ60x models will work on the MZ617?
thanks!
I fixed one of these up for a friend and found that Root Junky's Safe Root tool for JellyBean worked perfectly. Sadly, I haven't found any ROMs for this device, or even a custom recovery.
