[Q] Z4Root of Samsung Intercept with Android 2.2.2 - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I recently upgraded my Samsung Intercept to Android 2.2.2 and now Z4Root is not working. I'll assume my carrier has blocked whatever method Z4 was using to get root access. This was by far the easiest and safest method I had found to temporarily root my phone. Am I out of luck or is development still going on for the application? Is there a safe method for rolling back the update to a previous version of android.

how did you upgrade to 2.2 after using z4root on 2.1.
apparently z4root changes some file permanently even after rebooting/unrooting that prevents installing the 2.2 update.
so how can i get 2.2 on my phone now?

lemora
I only used the temporary root for that very reason.

Rooting Android 2.2.1

After some searching I found out that it's apparently impossible to root an Android device with Android 2.2.1.
Now I'm in desperate need to install milk's touchscreen lag fix, so I need to root.
So I ask,
Is there a method to root 2.2.1? If not, how does one downgrade to 2.2 and would it cause any problems?

Need assistance with rooting

I have a Motorola Motoroi XT720 (South Korea) android.
Was running 2.1 and was able to root my phone using the Universal Androot "One-Click" app. Everything worked perfectly.
However, I just upgraded to 2.2 via Motorola's website and I can no longer root my phone.
Any ideas?
Please disregard...I guess Universal Androot doesnt work for my phone on 2.2, but I found a different program to root.

Will an update brick my phone

I was reading on another forum that if my phone is rooted and runs a carrier update it will brick my phone. True? How can this be prevented?
Sent from my Optimus C (rooted) via XDA premium app.
Hey if you're phone's already rooted and you simply install a carrier update I think it'll update the ROM and remove root access.
For example, if you have Froyo 2.2 and you have Root access, one you install an update with Gingerbread 2.3 you'll end up with your operator's official ROM and no way to run Visionary.
Did you root with a util such as Visionary? That just uses an exploit to get root access, however to take a leap forward you need to do Eng S Off and Radio S Off, following this you can then install some of the great custom ROMs which are out there.
Ya I used gingerbreak and using rom manager bricked my last phone. Not sure what Eng s off and radio s off means.

[Q] Safe to root with rageagainstthecage method via superoneclick?

Is it okay to use rageagainstthecage exploit to root my motorola droid on frk76 via superoneclick 1.7?
I realize this is the exploit used by the Droid Dream malware but would it be safe in this context? Also I assume there is a reason later versions of superoneclick do not have this option, is that because it is unsafe?
My final goal is to root my original Motorola Droid running Android 2.2.3 via superonclick then put cyanogenmod 7 onto it for my daily driver.

How to bypass Good for Enterrise root checking

Hi everyone,
My company decided to use Good for Enterprise for mobile email. I am using Xiaomi developer version and I don't wanna lose developers features. I bought a Teclast X89 for it has dual OS (both Android and Windows) and tried to install GFE on it. But GFE complaints my newly bought X89 is rooted and refuses to run.
I did try numbers of methods trying to get rigid of ROOTED status but still in vain. I tried-
1. resintall from scratch with the stock ROM. Of course it failed. GFE thinks it is rooted.
2. rooted it and deleted all busybox related files, deleted su and unroot it with differen method (unroot using different root softwares, unroot using unroot feature from superclearner). It also failed. GFE still complaints it is rooted.
Every time after I rooted and unrooted the device. I have checked it with root checker software to ensure that I have UNROOTED it. But, GFE is still complaining it is ROOTED.
Anyone has good method to bypass GFE's root checking?
Or, anyone has good way to totally UNROOT my device?
Or, can I flash it with a unroot ROM?
Does anyone have experience on Good?
