I just got my tf. It came with the 8.2.3.9 sotware version dated april 23 rd. So that means I dont have to do the update on Asus website? So now I just gotta wait on the next ota update whenever that comes right?

That's right. Perhaps Asus will add the 8.2.3.13 version to the website soon and then you could manually install it.
I would think your unit would detect and announce that there is an update. Or did Asus pull the OTA update?
I don't mind waiting for ota. Honestly this thing already does everything I need. Wow I am digging this Asus keyboard.
My TF didn't OTA update from .9 to .13 until a couple days after I got it. No idea what the wait is for but just be patient.

I have a problem with my Transformer.
It has firmware 3.2. 8.6.5.9 installed and it doesn't show me new updates.
The transformer was rooted and I already unrootet it. But nothing happend. Still no update.
And I changed the SKU from US to WW. Thats why I rooted the Transformer.
What can I do to get the update?

There is no reason to unroot your tf to apply the update, there is a zip that works through CWM in this post..

Since you are already unrooted you might have to wait for ASUS to put the update file on their website, should be out soon, or you could root it again

look for the "update SOP" in the manuals or downloads, but in a nutshell, unzip it and place the ASUS folder on your external sdcard. Insert the sdcard and you *should* get a notification to update.

Thanks but the latest firmware i can download from that link is 8.6.5.14

After a few weeks, the latest firmware will show up. Until then, you can download the .13 firmware and upgrade manually to .19- either by checking for the OTA or by searching for it here, although it might only be the US or WW version.

Well now you're on an up to date version (assuming you ment 8.6.5.19), so it will not notify you that an update is available until another update comes out. You'll have to downgrade to an older version. I've never done that so I'm not sure how well it will work, or if it will work.
In the future, I highly recommend not flashing your device with a firmware released for a different location.

I have 6 Asus Transformers, 1 prime, 3, TF300T, and 2 Infinity, all of them for Office purposes, mine is an Infinity, of course. But there is something I don't understand since the first day I got the Inifnity's, I have never received an OTA notification, not even brand new, the rest of them as soon as I turned it on and set the initiail stuff there was an OTA waiting for me.
Well, mine was rooted but the other one is not, but again, no OTA in any of them, the weird part is my friend got a new Inifnity last week and as soon as he turned it on he got his OTA update, and he just called me that have the .18 notification and again, none of mine have.
Anyone have some information to share with me about all this?, Also, I just finished updating to JB and keeping my root last week, it wasn't easy, downloading the dlpkg file and doing the stuff, is this the only way to keep my root again, or do you think I can download Asus website's file and just update and then been able to use Rootkeeper to restore root?

OTA Rootkeeper works only for OTA upgrades (whether downloaded automatically or manually makes no difference). Installing the complete firmware from the Asus website wipes everything, so any su backup cannot survive this procedure.
If you unlocked the bootloader of your tablet, you will not receive OTAs. If you only rooted without unlocking, then the entry for your device in Asus' database is missing or messed up - many here have reported similar problems.

Thanks, my Infinity is rooted but the Bootloader is still locked, but the other Infinity it's stock, not even Rooted, and none of the 2 are receiving the OTA Notifications.
So, any idea if somebody already have an update file?, I have looked on Google but the dlpkgfile files available are for the previous version .16 not for the .18.

Apparently I didn't look hard enough, after posting this, I found this link in this same forum http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1926147, I'm doing the whole update process now, let's see what happens, thanks anyway.
Just had an update pop up on my phone outta no where. Was a 2 stage software update, took about 10 min to apply them, then forever for the apps to rebuild their cache. Looks like this is still just security updates

How possible is root really for this device? With the V20 out and no devs seeming to work on it, I doubt it'll ever get root.
Is it just me, or has the battery life significantly improved after this update?
I dont have control over whether or not my phone updates or not. its automatic even if you click remind me later it updates when it feels like it... At&t can eat a load.

I got my v10 off swappa and unlocked it and started using it with T-Mobile. Well now I can't update the thing at all. I contacted AT&T and LG both were useless. I ended up getting the 6.0 update when I had to send my phone in for repair and they updated it too. But I don't think I will get these security updates. It says mine hasn't had a security update since July 2016. I will never go with AT&T again.

I bought my ROG Phone in December. I believe it is the Tencent Games version with the WW ROM.
The first thing I did was update to the latest version from the Asus website. I put the file on the phone, restarted and did the update normally. The current version is WW-18.1220.2111.164.
Now the problems begin: in February a new update was released and I couldn't update anymore. I download the firmware, put it in the root of the device, restart and when the message appears that the firmware was found, I click on update, but soon after a message appears saying that the update failed.
I've tried these versions and they all give the same error:
WW-18.1220.2201.192
WW-31.0810.1226.57
WW-18.1220.2202.206
Can someone help me?

I did the update on my to the 192 to the 206 and skipped the WW-31, now I get an error every time I tried to update for the Android 12 (WW-31).
Not sure what to do now.
