[Q] Help Update failed??!!!

Hi,
I got the notification that a new update was available so clicked to install it and it rebooted then got the orange bar showing its progress. Now I just left the tablet for a couple of hours and have now just looked at it again and it had the screen asking me if I wanted to install the update?? So I clicked install and it said the update failed, so I was wondering if someone who has done the update could post their details in the About section so I can see if my wifi version, kernel version etc are the latest versions?

I've posted a few screens there in the first post of the build revisions. One pic is the original device with no update, the other two are updates 1 and 2 respectively. They are named as such so you'll see which is which.

That's odd. I just did the first update yet it matches the original screenshot you've posted. It says there's another update (the second I presume) but it's not downloading it. Weird.

Strange, I guess your tablet had a newer firmware to start off with then. When did you purchase yours? And was it in the UK you bought it? There have been 2 updates for me so far.

[Q] 2.3.4 on GRI54

The OTA update for GRI54 was downloaded by my phone, however because I use Clockwork Recovery the update Google update procedure did not work.
Anyone know where I can manually download to GRI54 update to 2.3.4 (GRI40 isn't working it seems)?

Agreed... haven't seen a GRI54 link yet. Need to get that to MoDaCo Paul ASAP (although he's probably busy watching the wedding)

Unfortunately logcat only seems to show messages since last reboot. And I already rebooted in order to try to get the update installed Also I can't get the phone to attempt to download it again.
May be someone else could check before rebooting their phone?

Could you upload the update itself somewhere?

Do you know where on the file system I can find the update?

i would search on root of your sd card (/sdcard mount point) or in download dir on sdcard?
Or you can just search for .zip files on your sd card with weird file names
Oh.. nexus s does not have sdcard (just USB storage) but the mount point is the same /sdcard

Unfortunately I can't post URLs yet. So take the GRI40 update URL and replace the filename with:
486786a7fd97.signed-soju-GRJ22-from-GRI54.486786a7.zip
Note: I have not tested this update myself yet. Use at your own risk!

As I see only 2.3.3-to-2.3.4 link is known now, look on AndroidCentral:

Should wait a bit for logcats from other versions.

I found it in my /cache directory. My phone was at GRI54 when I bought it, so I don't have any other updates.

Just to make clear.You download it or comes as an ota update after chcking from you phone for the update (This is what i understand from your first post)?

Tried to install on my Rogers (Canada) Nexus S that is currently on GRI54 and got a signature failed... any clue why that would be?

your infor is very confusing, your first post say it was download through OTA, then in your other post you say it came with the phone.

It has faild for me also.
I have i9023, maybe its for i9020?

He said that he bought the phone with GRI54 and he found the link after the ota upgrade in the /cache directory....if i understand correct

I have i9020A ...so it doesn't work on both...

Small 20mb updated for GT-P3110 UK , any ideas what it is?

P3110XXBLH2 auto updated just now, no notes as to what it did.
any clues?

It just auto downloaded on the tablet itself and then kies popped up a message (its not running!) saying latest firmware update download.
You UK as well?

yes but i updated manually via odin mobile so i apparantly i cant use kies. my device is rooted also. i've downloaded the lastest FW

This OTA file is what is necessary to pass from the older firmware P3110XXBLH1 to the new and last firmware P3110XXBLH2. If you ignore and flash by ODIN or mobile ODIN the full firmware file (6xx MB) you will have the same result.

OTA 23.3.24 - anyone have a link?

Hello... does anyone have a download link for the latest OTA 23.3.24 for the Maxx/Ultra? I can't find a link to save my life...

There is a link in the 'New update coming?" Thread towards the end. It did not work on my phone though.

Thank you!! Found it - that's what I was looking for. You can install it by booting into Stock Recovery and applying the update ... just locate where you downloaded it on your phone.

Were you already on 23.3.23 or an earlier build?

.23 soak download. Phone has had issues since taking the soak.
Edit: downloading from phone would not get the file.
Pulled from laptop and it worked this time.

Cannot Download L29C636B172OTA through Firmware Finder

Hello everyone,
Saw the MHA-L29C636B172 OTA on firmware finder for about 10 days now but it can't download (just stays stuck on 0%). Tried WiFi and mobile.
Was hoping I'll get the OTA on my phone (I check about 4 times a day) but nothing yet.
I'm in Malaysia, is there anything I can do to get it early?

1. update. zip - 1.727GB
2. update_full_hw_spcseas.zip - 672.92MB
The steps are in the images below.
Do you think is is safe?

I think you should just wait for the OTA and stop obsessing about it. Don't go around flashing stuff from dubious sources.

First off, is firmware finder legit? Cos in the post above, he mentioned dubious sources, but i want to believe it is cos a lot of people here recommended it severally.
Secondly, in firmware finder, it is 657MB but when I sent to Huawei updater it now reads 2.02GB.

To be honest I'm not sure, but my best guess is that those Fw are for internal testing before being released for the public.
The safest way is of course to wait for the official update.
Tried the same thing as you just now. Was around 2GB.
Chances are it will fail at the authentication and not authorised. But hey, maybe it's just me.

I tried download the zip file and follow the instructions. However, for the first step, it always fails after rebooting and starting updating the system. It fails pretty quickly. I don't know why .. I have the update.app under dload on my sdcard.

It fails signature verification. I guess we'll have to wait for it to hit the carriers for us to update.

so I am on t-mobile now. maybe it works on china mobile?

Maybe they have began rolling out updates. It depends on region and also carrier.
I'm in Malaysia on Maxis and I'm yet to get it. Hopefully by the end of the week.
