Hi all,
lately I installed youwave on my pc and experienced that one can really use whatsapp to chat with other users which have an actual android/iOS/windows/etc device. Next I tried to install android to my pc using VirtualBox, but when I installed whatsapp I got a message "unable to identify your device" which is understandable. But then I started to wonder, how could youwave get the job done where VB did not? After trying to install some other versions of android to my pc I figured that you couldn't install your own apps but only the ones which were in the preset app market. For example there was no OI Filemanagement which is there in the real app market. The best thing about youwave was that one version of whatsapp didn't work, but then I downloaded the newest version from whatsapp.com and it worked fine. I realised and tested that this would not work in my VB version of android.
I'm not a real hero with porting and virtual stuff, but now I'm trying to understand how youwave works in this. And my question for you here is, is it possible to achieve what youwave does myself with VirtualBox? If yes, how would I do that?
When I think about it I think you must achieve some of the following:
- Make VB think your pc is a HTC Sensation (in my case);
- Install the clockworkmod and rom manager to your virtual Sensation.
- Make a backup of your real phone in recovery mode and use this backup to recover your virtual one.
- Then someway, share your PC's network with your phone by making it think it has a wireless network in range?
- Install the newest whatsapp (which worked in youwave)
You'll probably think why the heck doesn't he JUST use youwave. There are several reasons, the most important one is I do not have a creditcard and do not even want to spent a lot of money just to whatsapp on my pc for fun. Besides I want to understand the proces of porting android to your pc and using it like it was a real phone, like with the google addon etc. And I don't like the UI of youwave.
So, if anyone knows if any of this is possible, I would appreciate your help. I think I saw someone somewhere talking about porting a backup of his phone to his PC but I can't remember where. I'm not asking you to come over to me and install everything for me but I just like an explanation where to start and what my possibilities are.
Anyway thanks for your attention.
Hello,
I've recently updated to wp 7.8 and com to the conclusion that there are a few strange things.
I've updated using the 'Seven-Eighter' by Windows Phone Hacker.
The things I have noticed are that it still says wp 7.5 although it is os 7.10.8858.136
The other more concerning thing is that I can't access my lockscreen settings.
Does anyone have noticed this as well and is there a solution
Kind regards,
Sdjager

Hi .. please where I can download Twitter_1.5.0.xap, facebook_2.8.0.xap and Whatsapp_2.8.10.xap, because I can not install from the marked on my HTC HD2 with ROM Windows Phone 7.8
I need to install this programs on my HD2 with USB.
I don't think this is possible. Even if you have XAP files, you have to reinstall them every half a year, because apps installed from Visual Studio are time limited.
I don't think it's possible/efficient because AFAIK you can't connect using older versions of apps. Just ask for a working market won't you?

Hi :good:Thanks for answering me. I install the old version of facebook and works well. But not so with the old whatsapp. I searched with Google a long time but could not find the new versions. With Android never had this problem, searching the web you can find any of the marked application without problem. So far I have not found any updated applications on the web for download to my pc.

Hi Sunny.. I now use the old Facebook 1.0.0 application from Microsoft on my HD2 and it works great, despite being old works well, but what I want is to have my Windows Phone 7.8 with the latest software of Facebook, WhatsApp and Twitter.
I can not install programs directly from the market because my WP HD2 I can not activate the Windows Live account.
I need activation WP with my Windows Live account.
I am an expert in making changes to my HD2 ROM :fingers-crossed:. I use Android since I bought my phone, but now I want to experiment with WP. These three programs are the basis for daily use of a smartphone.
Hello,
I'm trying to get my phone working as a MIDI controller/keyboard for my computer (music software like reason 7 etc..) but I can't really find any good tutorial, except one on YouTube using the app musical pro but the app force closes when using his way. Anyways, does anybody know a way to connect it (WiFi/USB), I'd be so happy if I can use it. I also checked out an app called ''EMC easy midi controller v2'' (not in the play-store anymore), for that you had to connect your phone using Bluetooth to the computer, but my computer can't find my phone and the other way around as well (win 8) and I tried a lot of trouble shooting. So:
-Does anybody have a way to use my phone as a midi?
-Can anybody solve the Bluetooth issue?
Thanks in advance! (I hope this is the right forum to ask this)
specs:
-HTC one V
-Android 4.0.3
-Sense 4.0
Anyone?

Hello Folks,
i have a simple question, but haven´t found anything on google.
I have a HTC OneX and many other older and smaller Android Devices. Now I´m started to ask myself it is possible to control my "big" Onex with a little Device like the Wildfire S. Is there an App for pairing two Android Devices and get notifications and Messages from one to another? I don´t want to use a Browser-based App.
Thx so far for your comments

You could try Droid VNC server. Check it out on Google Play. I havent tried it from Android to Android but I think it should work.
