Again and "thanx" <--(Sarcasm) to the IPWebcam App, my Front Facing Camera is given me again a striped and freezed image (attached image) and i dont know what to do to "bring it back to life".
Any ideas around here?

Yes i do all the steps before flashing (was like this)...
1. Boot.img - (Update)
2. Official Strock - (System stock)
3. Supperuser
4. Stock boot. img
5. install from Sd card in Recovery mode
something wrong?

I think some people did have some strange issues with extreme overclocking, as the Xoom was only certified to run at 1GHz, even though the overclocking frequencies have been extensively tested, as in everything, your mileage may vary.
What exactly have you done to mod your Xoom?
It seems that you have updated to stock 3.1?
Then you unlocked and rooted?
You have installed CWM in order to flash mods?
What version of Tiamat have you flashed? Which bootloader?
Are you overclocked--to what frequency and what are you using as governor?
It seems like your answers to these questions might help to find you a solution.
If I were you I would reflash an appropriate boot img. (WiFi version) and one of the Tiamat kernels, maybe 1.4.3, and then don't overclock it, just run it at 1GHz and see if that works.

yes i update to 3.1 from became stock and after rooted again.
i have Rom Manager and had "Reset recovery", after mount my USB Storage to copy files and then install from Zip.
Version of Tiamat 1.4.4 1.7ghz cpu OC (i uploaded today to see if the problem solves but nope, the same a red light next to camera, and the image are just stripes (like post one). No other overclock.
And i get the WiFi boot.img
i'll attach the bloc .txt where i copy the instructions i follow, maybe there is the trouble but i can see it.
You might want to try to flash an earlier version of the Tiamat kernel, 1.4.2 or 1.4.3. The bootloader seems like it should be OK.
If that doesn't work maybe you should consider flashing the stockwifi image. But 1st, you should read through or search the Tiamat thread in development for mention of your same problem. I know it is in there. Also, since your issue maybe related to Tiamat, that would be the best place to look for help. Just post your question inside that Tiamat thread.
Reading on the NET i found the red light apparently its for "Privacy" to know the front camera is on and "recording-transmiting" and take care of what we are doing.
But the problem with the image stills going (i get completly stock (no re-lock) but kernell and SO to stock yes) im guessing maybe some driver-files for the Front-Facing camera corrupts, someone can get it from yours and let me try it? please.
and seeing "beyond" maybe the Tiamat Kernell do it something to te hardware?
ideas?
+1
had the same issue.
SOLVED!!!! yea im so happy right now lol.
But finally i got image.
Error!! Doble post.
Please some Mod can erase this post.
Thanx!
First post edited if somebody has a clue of what happens. Please let me know.
- I get on Stock (3.0.1 oficial Dev page) and reset (settings/privacy...) .... nothing
- Manually Factory Reset (Stock recovery Wipe)..... nothing
- Fastboot erase Boot-System-Recovery-Userdata img's and flash again..... nothing
maybe there's some order to install the stock with Fastboot, anybody knows?

This thread is an attempt to help out the Tiamat Developers by answering the frequently asked questions in one consolidated thread. This thread should also be helpful to those who either cannot use the search feature or are having a hard time figuring out the correct search terms to find what they are looking for. If you have suggestions or added questions/answers feel free to reply and I will update the OP.
NOTE: I am not a developer. All of the information in this thread is from other members who have helped me out or information I found in the XDA forums. I do not take credit for any of the great work that has been done on this ROM and I will point back to the original answer when possible. I am only trying to help lessen the burden on the developers so they can spend more time getting us the best features. Hopefully you find this helpful as well.
I've flashed this ROM and now I get update notifications. Should I accept the update? How do I stop these notifications?
No, you should never accept an OTA upgrade when using any custom ROM/Kernel. This could result in severe problems. Your best bet is to be patient and give the developers time to react. If the update is worthwhile I am sure they will roll it out pretty quickly.
To get rid of the notifications flash Mod pack 3 as noted here.
OK I made the mistake of accepting the OTA update and now my Xoom won't boot. What can I do?
okantomi said:
Can you make it reboot by pressing volume up and power at the same time and holding? If it reboots, wait about 3 seconds once you see the dual core logo and then tap volume down you shoud see android recovery, then tap up to choose it. I hope you did a nandroid backup. If not, you can try and get fastboot by tapping volume down sooner after it reboots.

From this thread.
With this ROM certain websites don't load correctly or I can't get to the mobile version of a site.
This ROM by default sets the User Agent String to "desktop". If you want to revert to the stock settings flash either Mod pack 1 or 2 depending which version of Moray you are running. Look here.
I flashed this ROM and now when I click links in email or my file explorer the screen just dims and nothing happens.
This is a bug in Android 3.2 and not specific to this ROM. To solve this, simply ensure auto-rotate is enabled and rotate the device from landscape to portrait and back to landscape. The app chooser window should appear allowing you to choose which app to open the selected file.
I just flashed this ROM and the speed is amazing, so I OC'd it to 1.7GHz cuz I want more and I am now stuck in a boot loop. This worked for others why not me?
The Xoom was only specified to run at 1.0 GHz, anything beyond that is a gift. Due to part-to-part variation not everyone's Xoom will be stable at the same speed. Yes some people are able to run at 1.7 GHz, but many cannot. For your specific Xoom try out the various speeds, but do NOT click "Set on Boot". This way if it crashes it will revert back to stock speed and you will be able to boot. Once you are satisfied with a speed then feel free to enable "Set on Boot". Before you do so I would suggest making a nandroid backup so you can restore just in case.
How do you get out of this boot-loop? The only way I know of is to boot into recovery and restore a nandroid backup if you have one or perform a full wipe if you do not.
I updated to the latest CWM and I cannot find the zip card or I get "get error: E:failed to mount /sdcard (No such file or directory)."
Latest is not always the best, for the Xoom you need to either use ClockworkMod 3.2.0.0 (R4C) or CMW Rogue Recovery v1.1.1
After flashing this ROM the Motorola icon gets distorted during boot up, is that a problem?
Basically it is not a problem. This kernel has a patch provided by NVidia which causes the distortion during boot. It does not cause any problems after it boots.
Is there a way to get the stock WiFi and Battery icons?
Yes
How do I boot into recovery without ADB or my PC attached?
There are a couple methods.
1) The latest Tiamat ROM includes this if you press and hold the power button. Just pick what you want and hit OK.
2) Download and install "Quick Boot" from the market. It gives you the above options as well as others when you run the app.
3) Turn the Xoom on, wait ~2 seconds after your see the Dual Core logo, then press the volume down key. In the upper left corner it should say "Android Recovery", then press the volume up key to select it.
How do I get started? Any good guides?
There are several guides that are pretty good. The best one I have found and personally used is here.
The Xoom Heaven thread found here is also a good place to start for all sorts of information.
If you have another question please feel free to post to this thread. If you are having a problem or have a question it is likely that someone else along the lines will have the same problem or question. I will continue to update this OP with the list of F.A.Q.s.
Additional Q&As
After installing this ROM I am having issues with the market not finding all of my apps or apps are giving errors when trying to install them.
See this post for one possible solution.

What version of recovery is installed now? If you have the version that doesn't recognize your external sdcard you should certainly flash a compatible recovery version through fastboot.

I tried this ROM on my 4G Xoom, but it left me without 4G or 3G (wifi only). Any way to get this working, or do I have to wait for an update?
I did try activating the network in settings, but it never connected even half an hour.
Thanks to steps mentioned by user 'LordDeath' in another thread and a bit of experimenting with a rooted 4G Xoom and a friends 3G Xoom running Moray, there seems to be a remedy for those who are having issues with the market compatibility issues as well as missing apps. I did not activate until attempting to sign in to the market and had missing apps and compatibility issues. I simply did a full wipe & reset and made sure the full activation went through in set up then let it automatically start restoring. I took a peek in the market after a a minute and all my apps were back with no compatibility issues. Here is a copy of his original post and mine but the last step was not needed for me.

Translated into English it means "Error while processing the purchase". It was a free app, btw.
To solve this issue I did the following:
1. Wipe data/factory reset
2. Active the device during the wizard on the first boot with my Google account
3. Restore the nandroid backup of the official 3.1 ROM
Therefore it seems that the market servers check your device-compatibility only during the activation process at the first startup.

"This fixed everything for my friend running Moray and even corrected the issues on my 4G Xoom..."
I should add that though this fixes the issue, if you change your pixel density you may run into similar issues but can correct it by setting it back to 160 before going into the market.
Can someone help please? I installed CWM Recovery thru ROM Manager. Rebooted in recovery to back up my ROM and now I can't get out of recovery. Every time I select Reboot System it reboots me into recovery.
Try here (if you can use NVFlash)
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1519635&highlight=boot+into+cwm
Like many others, When I saw the thread over in the Dev section about the 5.5.0.4 recovery, I jumped right in and fired up Rom Manager before reading any further in the thread.
Unlike many others, I don't get the same results. My TF101 reboots to the OS with no problem. However trying to reboot to recovery from recovery doesn't work. I have to hold the vol. down button just like a cold boot into recovery.
The only difference might be, that I had stock recovery prior to installing 5.5.0.4, due to having to recover from another soft brick condition after trying to install the CM9 Nightly that is now available over on the official Clockworkmod site. That one had failed miserably for my device.
Good luck with solving your problems with the new recovery. Wish I could explain exactly why mine seemed to work as advertised when most others didn't. But I don't know.
I do have the problem with the Removable MicroSD not being visible. Only the built in "Fake" SD Card.
Update:
I now have the reboot into recovery problem. I used the wipe data option from the VOL DWN/PWR button start up, and now have that annoying boots into recovery problem like everyone else. I hope that and the SD card problem gets fixed in the next version.
Thanks, got everything back to normal with NVFlash method I found by watching this :http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=VMHXeYMgPy4
Lesson learned!! :/
Curious where the thread in the Dev section went to, I cant find it this morning...
Unfortunately, some of us cannot use NVFLash to fix this problem.
So, is it too much to ask that the Dev who wrote Rom Manager and CWM actually look in to this for us?
I too installed the newer CWM through Rom Manager and need to cold boot to get in to the OS otherwise it recovery boot loops.

too late for us
I was up until 1am following the thread and posting my process, specs.
I am even more curious as to how the thread which was still pretty calm turned in to something that deserved being deleted.
In any event, I think we all understand that what we do is at our own risk. But CWM and Rom Manager have been the gold standard of reliability for quite some time. Once something is a trusted means by which to do something its even more disappointing to see that it no longer works.

I've tried everything I can think of to get ClockWorkMod working on the SGH-T959V. I have rooted the phone with SuperOneClick and I've installed ROM Manager. After I start rom manager and select 'Flash ClockworkMod'. I get a list of 4 phones and mine isn't listed, the closest one is the Samsung GalaxyS i9000 which I have tried but when I reboot into recovery I never get the ClockworkMod Recovery.
Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
Rom manager doesn't work with our phones to get cwm you have to flash a kernel that has it in it
Sent from my GT-P7510 using XDA
1) DO NOT use ROM Manager (or as Raver memorably put it, ROM Mangler) on this phone - you will mess it up.
2) Any of the modified kernels in the Development section will give you CWM. Try AntonX's kernel (assuming you are on a stock ROM) - I found it gave best results. Use the SGS Kernel Flasher from the Market/Play - it's the easiest way to install a new kernel.
3) Before asking any more questions, read Read READ. Read the guides and the stickies, then read them again. I have found the guides of lumin30 and juls317 to be very helpful.
If your phone is still on Froyo, then look in the Dev section for Krylon360's recovery. If you're on Gingerbread then read the post above this one as there are plenty of ROMs/kernels for this phone that have CWM.
Really man, do you read.

Since you are rooted already, yes it is possible. You can use https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=neldar.sgs.kernel.flasher&hl=en and select the custom kernel you want (since I'm assuming you're still on stock, the blastoff kernel from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1828171 works well - use SGS kernel flasher the first time, then flash again from CWM to get wifi working). On this phone, the kernel and the recovery are always together in the same file so by flashing a custom kernel you will get CWM.
That being said, I would recommend AGAINST doing this because if it fails you have no way of fixing things as your USB port doesn't work. So, be very careful - check your md5sum, download it again, and check the md5sum of the new file. If they match, then you're probably good to go. This warning also goes for anything else you may want to flash from CWM should you decide to go ahead.

I'm not sure I understand what your current situation is. My interpretation is:
1) You went ahead and tried flashing a kernel
2) You can boot up normally but you reboot after about a minute.
3) You can't wipe anything in recovery
3) When you're getting error messages, please copy them out word for word what they are. There are many similar sounding error messages.
If I got any of the above wrong, let me know and we'll go from there. Also, when you're in recovery, does it say "3e" or CWM (ie is it the Stock recovery or not).
P.S. By posting in a variety of threads the same message, you will not get help faster and it will just make people want to help you less. If you keep everything in one thread then things stay organized and its easier for people to help you.

Ok, I might be able to understand some of the Spanish as I speak French as well, but lets keep going in English.
Anyways, when you go into recovery (I assume you can still get into recovery), does it say <3e> or CWM? If it says CWM, is it red or blue? If its <3e>, then you're still on stock recovery and the kernel didn't flash properly.
Also, can you please go to Settings, About Phone, and read off the Kernel Version? If you can't get there, what is the last screen you see before it reboots?
Ok, so here goes a real noob question!
Although I am not a NOOB, but what I have read just seems a little outrageous.
Ok, So i have successfully rooted. I have seen some posts suggesting the use of ROM manager, and other saying NO.
I have read the NOOB guide, and that seems to be a little excessive to install a ROM onto this device.
Do you have to use the Heimdall method, because I do not have C++ installed, nor do I even know how to use it.
I want to get CWM installed, but I cant seem to find a method for just that.
So if I understand correctly, I have to install a Kernel w/CWM, then I can boot into CWM and flash a ROM onto the device?
I looked on the wiki, but some of the links there are broken, and there are missing files as well.
I really hate ask these kind of question, but I feel that I am really stuck here.
if someone could please help.

If you already rooted, which you stated that you are, then download an app called SGS Kernel Flasher. Then download any kernel you like for whatever firmware you are running (2.2 kernels for 2.2.1 and 2.3 kernels for 2.3.x) and flash with the app, Note- I recommended you flash this one if you are on 2.3:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1513287
Once your phone reboots it should have the kernel successfully installed and you should be able to boot into recovery by powering down the phone completely and holding the volume buttons and the power button

Just download it from here and install it like an app, nothing fancy.
I've been using Gnabo v_7 version for quite a long time, and a very simple and beautiful day when I woke up my Samsung GT-N8000 was stuck on bootscreen. I wasn't able to do much so I got this "Brazil stock rom" that I found in a website, and it flashed all right, except for the detail that there is something at the screen that I haven't got a bloody clue how to remove. hahaha
And still, whenever I try to install another room, I got stuck at bootlogo and so on. I'm kinda lost here, mind a little help?
I traveled around the forum but well, I'm a little dumb so I couldn't find any proper information about, how to solve this. I would like to know if there is a way to remove this thing from the main screen, and post here the image for you guys to see it please.
I tried to post the image here to make it easier understanding, but since I got this login recently I can't =\
Thanks
Install custom recovery (if you haven't already. If you already have it installed, make sure to update to latest version), root device, wipe everything and flash custom ROM.

So far I've tried the rom = N8000XXUDNE4 [still bootloop], then another 4.1 android version of other German rom XXALGA and nothing. Downloaded 3 Brazilian versions, and nothing. [I am from Brazil]. The only one that worked flashing using Odin was one called "KIES_HOME_N8000UBALGA_N8000ZTOALG3_N8000UBLG5.tar". And still, not recognizing my cellphone chip, and with some big watermark at the middle of the screen showing some information about the ROM and the version is 4.0. Even though this one worked fine, I was able to root and when I tried to flash another room, BANG! Bootloop again! =\
I was looking at the forum topics and I read some about ADB or something like that can fix this and "break" this bootloop making the device work normally again with the roms. But i haven't got a clue how to use it. Please help me! =\

You can use ADB to push/pull files to Android. I don't know if you can use it to fix bootloop. With it, you can also reboot to recovery and sideload zip

Well, after 2 days of research and paying attention on things here, I found out that my problem is "/EFS error". Meaning to use ADB to recover or fix it? But I don't know how to use this. I've downloaded 3GB of it but I was lost about using, and uninstalled. Is is there any short or better version and some good tutorial about using to retrieve my EFS so I can install another roms? I'm using original stock rom now, Brazilian android 4.0 and that's the only only the device is working fine but of course missing things as my cellphone card and the yellow message at the top of the screen. Please guide me through ADB.
P.s Is there a way to create /efs or something like so the device work properly? Cause I've deleted when I installed some rom, and I have no backup here. =\
Thanks!
