[Q] Samsung Vibrant CM7 Problem - General Topics

I flashed this rom, its gingerbread 2.3.4, and its bugged out. It has no market, my tmobile service doesnt work cant call/txt, among other bugs. I want to know how can i flash another rom back into it, it seems that i cant do anything to make it work, when i go into recovery, clockwork is in version 3.0.2.8 and when i try to flash a 2.2 froyo rom into it it says google disabled it and you must switch it to edify or something like that. If i switch clockwork to version 2.5.1.1 it says error cant mount. Can anyone please help, I want to flash Bionix V into it, THANK YOU in advance!

Rom Manager doing... nothing

Ok, so my phone is a rooted Droid 2, and all my root required apps seem to be working fine. Well, I wanted to try some new roms, and most definitely backup my phone. So I start Rom manager, flash clockwork recovery, it tells me that was successful, then I try to backup current ROM, and it restarts my phone, and it loads up like nothing has changed. I go to Manage and restore current backups, and there is nothing there. If it makes a difference, the little loading swirl at the bottom is basically always there.
I'm quite confused, I thought this was a straight forward application, but it just seems not to be doing anything. Any help is appreciated.
I'm afraid I won't be much help but the exact same thing happened with my rooted Captivate. According to what I've read on CyanogenMod.com, when you flash Clockwork, it's supposed to put you in recovery. Mine didn't do that, but in ROM Manager, it lists Clockwork as my current recovery. I also tried to backup my current ROM and it did go into recovery and then rebooted and I had the same result as you. I read that you can't flash Clockwork on Froyo and if that's true, it's going to be a pain in the butt to flash back to Eclair, flash Clockwork, reflash Froyo, then try to install Cyanogen. I'm hoping someone will tell me there's either a Clockwork for Froyo or an easier way to do this.
I had same problems when first using ROM Manager. I found out eventually that the little swirls are ads loading.
After upgrading to Premium and getting rid of the ads, ROM Manager has worked fine for me.

Is there a way to flash the rogers 2.2 on my AT&T Captivate?

My AT&T Captivate is alright using the Odin 2.2 for galaxy S update, but it has bugs because I'm pretty sure the one released was pre-release.
is there any way to flash the rogers 2.2 update on? Does anyone have it? I'm in Canada, and sim unlocked. I tried to use kies and it says unsupported device...

Is there any one click flashes for cognition or firefly? I still haven't been able to get my clockwork working even though I rooted this JI6 os, or figure out how to use these zip files. I would prefer something that works with Odin or something like it if possible. (where is the link to the latest Odin? I did a seach for odin and got about 900 results and couldn't find it).

[Q] Just rooted my htc evo w/ unrevoked

I just rooted my evo 4g last week but I have not done anything to it yet. I have installed a few apps like Rom Manager, wifi tether, and a few others.
I wanted to do some reading before I tried to do anything else to minimize the chances of breaking my new toy
I have been told to flash amonRA, that it is better than clockwork and it will give me the nand backup that clockwork doesn't.
I have also been told that you can just simply do this through rom manager, at the bottom, by flashing alternate recovery.
Do I need to know anything else before doing this?
does this get rid of clockwork or just ad another recovery to chose from?
After I flash a recovery image, and before I try flashing a new rom, probably mikfroyo 4.4 based on what I have read, is there anything that you would suggest?

[Q] uninstall cm7

hello guys i just installed cm7on xperia x10i but does not work so good, can u tell me ho can i get back gingerbread 2.3.3?
You dont just uninstall cm7, that way youll be left with nothing.
You need to find and install another rom, if its 2.3.3 you want then search for that. im pretty certain that cm7 is based off of 2.3 so i dont see why it wouldnt work well.
Id say just search for what roms are good for your phone, choose one, and use that
if you did a nandroid backup before installing cm7, you can boot into clockwork mod and go to backup/restore then restore from the backup you created of your previous rom. If you didn't backup, you'll have to install a new rom over your current one.
No I did not back up, but I searched for 2.3.3 firmware but did not find if u know anyother solution so please help,or another firmware or rom, now I have cyanogen7 zmod n it does not work very good

Unable to remove CyanogenMod 7

I previously had Vahalla Black FB edition and enjoyed it. Prior to that I had Vahalla Black Final. VBF is the rom i'm currently trying to revert back to however since i've installed Cyanogenmod-7 it will not let me flash the new rom via CWM v5.0.2.8. I do not like CyanogenMod 7 and can't figure out how to get rid of it. I've done 3 or 4 different ROMS trying to test if I could have them installed but everytime it reverts me back after system reboot to CMD 7 and it's quite annoying. I no longer want this, how do i delete it to install VB Final or FB Edition? I've followed the install instructions to a T and to no avail.
Model : SGH-T959V
Andriod Version : 2.3.7
KJ6
Kernel : [email protected]#1
Mod Version : cyanogenmod-7-20120615-unofficial-galaxys4gMTD
Those are the current specs. Also, the main reason I switched from Vahalla Black FB edition was because my phone crashed one morning, HARD. It just started force closing and acting up. Thinking it was the ROM i installed this one. Now i want to unistall it, install Black Final ( non FB edition ).
Since CM7 is a MTD rom you'll need to use a one-click to get back to BML first. Or you could go to an ICS rom, but... if you want VBF back, you'll need a one-click.

Now back to stock system + root. Thanks again for the info. Now to install CWM and a new rom.
