[Q] App that adds apps to the notification bar - Android Apps and Games

Hi guys I need a app that allows me to add apps to the notification bar. I also need it to be able to add a bookmark of my choice and launch the browser.
Does anybody know of one?

Notification Toggle will do Apps but I don't think it does shortcuts. I think Toggle Bar is another & I'm not sure of the shortcuts.

will tasker allow me to do this?

Yes, Tasker can do it. You can make a task to put an icon in the notification bar on reboot, and then make a task to open an app or a menu of apps when you click the icon.

Thats it! How can I do it? Can you tell me

You'll probably have to look at a tutorial and the User Guide at the Tasker site to understand, but it's pretty simple when you see what the setup screens in Tasker look like.
You need to make two new profiles in Tasker. To make a new profile, open Tasker and click New. A profile contains a context and a task.
For your first profile, choose the context Device Boot. Then add a task and add to it the action Notify with whatever icon and title you want.
For your second profile, choose the context Notification Click, and put the title from the Notify action in its Title field. Then add a task and open the task properties to change the task type to Menu. Then add to the task Load App actions and Browse URL actions to populate the menu.

[Tasker Script] StatusBar Hide/Show widget

Hi,
Attaching scripts for Tasker app (https://market.android.com/details?id=net.dinglisch.android.taskerm) for toggling Honeycomb Statusbar appearance on Asus Transformer.
Please note that these scripts require Superuser access (therefore will work with rooted devices only)
Follow the following steps to create Statusbar widget toggle:
--------------------------------------------------------------------
1. Unzip the attached file into: "/sdcard/Tasker/tasks/" folder on your Transformer (create the "tasks" folder if it is not created already)
2. Open Tasker application
3. Goto: Settings Menu -> Profile Data -> Import One Task
4. Import "StatusBar_Hide", "StatusBar_Show", "StatusBarToggle" tasks by repeating step 3
5. Goto your prefered home screen
6. Add widget -> Task
7. Select "StatusBarToggle", press "V" in the next dialog to finish
The created widget will toggle StatusBar visibility on each click and will change the widget icon accordingly.
You can also use the attached scripts to hide status bar before invocation of selected applications and returning the status bar back after exiting the application:
1. Follow steps 1-4 from the above sequence
2. Add new profile in Tasker, name it "Apps with Hidden Statusbar":
2.1 Select "Application" context
2.2 Mark all the application you want to use without statusbar (for example i use it for "MoboPlayer" video app and some games)
2.3 Press "V" and Task selection menu will appear
2.4 Select "StatusBar Hide" task
2.5 Press again on created "StatusBar Hide" task and select "Add Exit Task"
2.6 Select "StatusBar Show" for exit task
2.7 Exit Tasker to apply the scripts
Big thanks to ppareit and his "HideBar" app sources (https://github.com/ppareit/HideBar) that i used to create these scripts.
Happy Taskering
when the widget hides the bar, how do I get it back from withun the opened app? Does flicker work or do I have to somehow get back to desktop to click the widget again?

This widget is indeed useful only with apps that you can exit explicitly from within the app (like most of the games and some other apps) or if you always have the docking with you (like i do).
If you want more complete solution you can take a look at HideBar application (
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1265860&highlight=hidebar). The downside that this application always run in the background. My script just hides/shows the statusbar without running service in the background for gesture catching.

Thanks for this...really useful. Another solution is to install something like swipepad which will let you move from app to app.
Anyone else been using any other tasker profiles? All I have so far is having headphones mute my notification volume and auto-airplane mode when the screen is off.
Hello, I just installed the ICS Version on my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1. Unfortunately the mentioned tasks does not work? Is there any adjustment I can make to make does takes workable under ICS as well?
Thank a lot for your support!

In the mean time, you may use a Torch app and make a shortcut on quickbar that you can quickly toggle it.
great app, thank you!
some observations:
- when searching through the contacts, it's not listed in alphabetical order
- if device is locked, when using create new sms, the device does not unlock, it just launches the messaging app behind the lock screen, would be great if it unlocks the device

Reboot
Could you add a confirmation dialog to the reboot feature and a check box in settings for those of us that want the dialog box?
Also, could you add an option to merge multiple notification bars into one and put an arrow at the end(s) to switch between the bars?
why don't you take one picture up here?
Picture 1 shows how the notification bar would look before clicking the arrow on the right and picture 2 shows both notification bars and the arrows on the end of each shows that they are linked.
Two ways that this could be implemented are:
All bars are automatically linked and you could only have 1 bar showing at a time
Long press on one of the bars and click a link icon and then click another bar, with this you might want to put a box around the linked bars and automatically move them next to each other
I hope this makes it clearer.
thanks
I also thought that if you are able to make linked bars, that there could be an option to automatically create the linked bars after a limit has been met. Like a check box to enable a limit and another option to set a limit, list or text box. This would make this app that much more user friendly.
Great program
This program works great for me, unlike another similar notification bar program I tried that caused unexpected/unwanted changes to my phone's behavior.
Keep up the good work.

How to edit?
leducbao - this is a wonderful app, I use it all the time. A couple of things that I have not worked out, however, are:
1 How to edit an existing bar e.g. remove/replace shortcuts?
2 How to re-order icons in a "new" or "existing" bar (linked to question 1)?
I cannot find that these two issues are clarified in your FAQ and feel it would be really cool if they were explained (then again, I might have missed something, sorry if that's the case!).
Congratulations on a really, really good app.

Nova Launcher Update: Fun with Swipe Actions on Icons!

A recent update to Nova Launcher added a new feature for Nova Launcher Prime users - swipe actions on Icons. What this means is that you can set any icon to perform a different behavior if you swipe up on it.
To configure an Icon:
Long Press on the Icon
Select "Edit"
Change the "Swipe Action" to whatever you want it to be (another app, an Activity, etc.)
For example, I just modified my dock in the following way:
Tapping the "Foursquare" icon in the dock opens Foursquare normally. Swiping up on the icon automatically takes me to the Check In activity
Tapping the "Dolphin Browser" icon in the dock opens Dolphin Browser. Swiping up on the icon opens Chrome.
Tapping the "Maps" icon in the dock opens Maps. Swiping up on the icon opens Navigation
I made a quick video to illustrate:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ifshfRetOsU
Those are just some ideas I had right out of the gate. Please feel free to share your own!
PS -
I also love Nova's new "Alphabetical List"-style app drawer. Good stuff!
loving this feature. i use it to swipe up on my xscope browser to open up floating browser
Great idea for the swipe. How to configure the size of the icon btw?
Aw man... this means I have to change all my Simple Text widgets into App shortcuts to use the new swipe feature. oh well...
Excellent feature, I love Nova Launcher. Question though are all apps available to link to, I would like to assign a swipe gesture to create a new text message but cannot see the Option, any ideas?

the closest thing you can do is set a swipe gesture to open the messaging app or set it to a direct message to someone in particular.
Use Nova Activities

When selecting a swipe action, choose the 'Shortcuts' tab, then under 'Activities' (which is at the top of the list with a Nova icon), then tap on Messaging to expand it and you should find an activity called 'Messaging ui.ConversationComposer' - this allows you to assign a swipe gesture to create a new text message.
There seems to be hundreds of activities under all of my various applications within this menu and I don't understand most of them. I would love to hear anybody else's experiences with these swipe gestures/activities..
Hi this is my first post i already love this forum
And the Nova launcher was a great idea
Also I love the feature that you can choose to tap to open an app and swipe to open the folder. I use for the various cam apps folder, and when tapped it's just sense camera, awesome

App > Swipe app
G+ > g messenger
Facebook > FB Messenger
Foursquare > FS Check in
Reddit > Chant
Twitter > Twitter search
Dragon > soundhound
Phone > contacts
Messaging > snapchat
camera > gallery
Gmail > compose
Browser > downloads
Music player > Music downloader
these are all in my dock and usually i do something with my fantasy hockey app swiping to pull up another fantasy app or soemthing
This is awesome! The are so many similar apps and actions that you'd launch differently..this makes so much sense like
Camera - Quickpic
Gmail - Talk
Maps - Nav
Fb - fb messenger (already mentioned)
Walkman - songza
Etc.
Thanks for the heads up!
This post was created and transmitted completely in analog.

[APP][3.2+] Halo Shortcut Creator

Hi,
The Halo multiwindow feature from ParanoidAndroid allows the System to open up any app in a floating window. However there are few alternative ways to launch an app in the multiwindow except for the original Halo bubble.
For people using tools like sidebars or similar applications, there's no option to do that.
That's why I developed the app HaloShortcut. My app allows you to create a shortcut that opens every app in the floating window provided by the Halo feature.
There's an app with similar functions called HaloShortcuts, which you should definitely try out. It comes with an additional search feature and most importantly, it's open source,
HaloShortcuts:
Provides a shortcut for every app/activity that will then start in a multiwindow
The Blacklist feature allows you to control whether an app starts in multi window depending on the currently used app
Doesn't appear in your home launcher nor does it run in the background at any moment
NEW Feature:
(Also works with the XHaloFloatingWindow XPosed extension)
Further information about the Halo project:
http://www.xda-developers.com/android/paranoid-android-team-open-sources-halo/
Changelog;
Version 3.2: Fixed Blacklist
Version 3.0: Complete new UI and added Blacklist Feature
Version 2.1: Shortcut labels now show correct name
Version 2.0: Shortcut support
Version 1.0: First release

Very cool, very handy. Thank you.

Is it possible to update this app to create shortcuts that point to "Shortcuts" in Android as well instead of just app shortcuts?
You know, the screen when u long press on the launcher and you get this page to create direct shortcuts to contacts, bookmarks, gmail labels etc.
Because it would be handy to create shortcuts that link to specific functions inside apps instead of having to launch the apps in windows mode and then navigating to the required functions i.e. shortcut to a specific whatsapp contact, specific settings screen.
Do consider it, or if anyone has a solution do let me know, thanks!

Hey, I implemented the requested feature, thanks for the support :good:
Hi , this app somehow is not working on my Xperia Z, running android 4.3
i cant see the app icon ANYWHERE in the phone, so cannot create a halo shortcut.
i tried the other halo shortcut you suggested at #1, that one only creates a shortcut on the home screen, so that's not too useful (i want to create a halo shortcut on notification bar)
Thanks
Works great! Thank you!

Hey, this app won't show up in any launcher, because that wouldn't make sense at all. But you should be able to access it from a popup dialog whenever you want to add a shortcut to something.
So in your app that makes the notification bar shortcuts, you have to select shortcuts and than select "HaloShortcut".
If you still have problems, tell me the name of the app that you are using and i'll see how to get it done

Hi,I've finally found the option, it is under "Bookmark" (not "App") when creating the halo shortcuts.
It is working if i create a desktop shortcut to open app with halo, but currently it doesn't work with this app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=dk.nicolai.buch.andersen.ns&hl=en

Hidden Notification Log?

Hey Guys
I have Action Launcher installed on my Galaxy S8 (Running Oreo with Samsung Experience 9) and I found a shortcut widget to a notification log. Doing a quick Google search it seems like Samsung doesn't offer this feature natively. From what I can tell, you have to have Action Launcher installed in order to access the shortcut but I'll try to give as much detail as possible to recreate it with other means.
1. While in Action Launcher, long press and select widgets
2. Long press Activities (Should be at the top with the Action Launcher logo) and place it on your homescreen
3. The Activities page should open, scroll down to settings and expand it
4. Scroll a ways down to Notification Log and select it
5. There should now be a settings icon labeled Notification Log on homescreen
There are a bunch of other useful shortcuts in this Activities menu, they appear to be paths that exist in each app that lead to specific functions or menus. Some of them don't actually do anything if you set them as widgets.
Note: The text under Notification Log is:
.Settings$NotificationStationActivity
if that helps. I leave it to the far more capable community to describe what I've actually stumbled on.
