[Q] Bluetooth Voice Dialing on Gingerbread - T-Mobile LG G2x

On Froyo, whether it be stock or Eagle's Blood, my bluetooth voice dialing works as its supposed to... I press the voice dial button, and my phone says "Speak Now", I say the name, and it tells me what name I said + "Dialing".
I can't speak for all Gingerbread builds, but on Paul's leak and CM7, I press the voice dial button, and I dont get any notification at all, nor do I get the confirmation when its dialing a name... I mean, it dials, and it calls out properly... but its annoying since I keep my phone in my pocket, and Im scared that it'll dial a wrong name without any confirmation...
Has anyone else had this experience?

Bump... Would really love some info on this...

Come on, doesn't ANYONE use bluetooth voice dialing with a handsfree device on gingerbread?
Please respond! Someone?

i also have noticed this on all gingerbread roms i've tried. Most recently InsertCoin Desire ROM

I am having the same problem, Did you figure this out?

I had issues with CM7 and bluetooth dialing, so I switched to EB 2.3.3, and haven't had but one issue. I had an app called Cyberon Voice Commander, and that failed to work properly on any GB ROM.
However, ChoiceDialer+ seems to be working just fine w/EB (2.3.3). Downside to CD+, is that you cannot (currently) use voice dialer and A2DP together on our phones...it will freeze up. I have to disable media connection on my phone to properly use CD+. I'm going to test out Vlingo, and see how that works out. Downside to Vlingo is, you have to use data connection.
If you're interested in trying ChoiceDialer, there is a free version available in The Market. Aside from the A2DP issue, it is a great app, and the Dev is very responsive.

MS Voice Command on Diamond 2 or wait for WinMo 6.5 "TellMe"

Is there any possibility to get MSVC working on Diamond 2? I used it on my old O2 XDA Orbit 2 with Bepes Rom. Now I'm interested in to use it on my Diamond 2, or should I wait for official Update on Windows Mobile 6.5 with "TellMe" ?
I managed it, but it does not work and caused a problems (i.e. once connected to BT, it always stays connected).
Working fine on mine through bluetooth, I'm using V1.6.19214 found in a link here on XDA. I don't bother with the call button activation, which can be problematic to get working, as I only need it for voice dialling through my BT headset.
hmm, okay... thanks for the reply...
i just wanted to use it for incoming calls, so that the callers name is outspoken and for simplyfying writing sms...
I think i will wait for "tellme" in wm6.5
THX guys

Hi,
I've voice command 1.6 in french, and it works nearly amazing fine. I'm not using bluetooth with it, and the only problem is that, sometimes, when I ask 'CALL ... AT HOME', it asks for confirmation, and it does not understand the 'YES' answer. This problem did not happen with version 1.5.
I also disables incoming caller names, because it has a conflict with the ring, and both are not audible (ring distorded, and voice not understandable).
But it tells you the meetings, mails, battery status, next appointements, etc...
Really amazing on a small device. I don't use contacts mamangers anymore for calling : just using voice command. I even work in the car, with the ambiant sound engine, and radio on (not too loud!). Worth the price for 19.95$ (as far as I remember).
regards,
Olivier.
PS: it fails on install because it has not enough hardware button. After install, go in the settings -> buttons and assing it to the only button. Pressing Green key for two seconds, and wait the the beep and microphone icon on notify bar. If you press the button too long, it makes a loud beep to tell you it is cancelled. You can also magic button, or remap the soft keys.
I used to use Cyberon Voice Commander to make a call. I have no idea how come HTC took off this software on Diamond 2...
I have sent the email to Cyberon to ask if there is any possible way to get their Voice Commander. They responded that the software now has retail version for about 10 languages, and they offer the full function 30-day trial on their website. I am using it so far. It works well on my Diamond 2.
Vito
Vito technology has 2 voice command apps. VoiceDialer to simlpy call some1 and Voice2Go to launch apps and cpntacts and so on.
How come there is just one button to assign something to? I would like to use cyberon voice commander via the headphone mic-button.. is there a way to do this, or is it a limitation in td2?

Try the latest version of Cyberon Voice Commander v2.5.2r from Cyberon website http://www.cyberon.com.tw/order_Product_con.php?NO100=15 as Lacerta mentioned .
This version provides "hold Volume-up" or "hold Volume-down" to launch CVC in Setting, as well as you can start it by pressing the button on BT earset.
Per xhaavardx, I downloaded the app from Vito Technology. Works great in the office. Totally useless driving down the road. And I do mean totally. Will not successfully dial a single voice tag I recorded in the parking lot unless I pull off the road and turn off all accessories, even the heater fan.
There was a post on this site somewhere recently stating that someone had converted the app from the old HTC Wizard into a .cab that could be installed on the diamond 2. I can't seem to search that thread out, though. Can any of you guys find it? That thing worked absolutely great!

This one was ripped from Samsung but haven't tested it.
Tried a text but no luck so far. Will keep trying.
Also, MSVC is working great.

Tried the Tellme file on my Pure. It works decently while I'm on my wireless network but continually tells me it can't find the network even when it's at full strength on the 3G network. Maybe it's because it was configured to search for Sprint's network, I don't know. I've seen other say they got it to work for them.
Voice Dial for Touch Diamond 2
Hello, All:
Concerning voice dial for the Touch Diamond 2, I found Cyberon Voice Dial on this bulletin board in a thread somewhere, but, regretfully, I can't find it back. IF you can find it, it is DA BOMB!! Yeah, you have to record the voice tags, but it works great in noisy environments and almost never makes a mistake. I don't use BT with the new phone, but Cyberon worked great with the BT on my old Wizard. Whatever you do, don't pay for Vito Voice Dial. It is truly unserviceable in any situation with even moderate noise.
Good Luck! Hope this helps.

The program won't even start for me on WiFi.
I believe the network issue is specific to AT&T from what I have read. No fix for this yet.
Pity....

MS Voice command not dialing through BT headset - I know why, just don't know how to

MSVC works great through BT headset on my tilt2 (Energy ROM 21885 december 31 sense 2.5), with the exception of using it to dial. I figured out why: When I would activate MSVC and tell it to say "call home" the command is recognized, and I am askd for a confirmation. So far so good... The troube is that when i answer "yes" , MSVC brings up the MS dialer NOT the HTC dialer, so it tries to dial but never connects to the radio to dial and just goes back to the sense 2.5 home screen. Testing MSVC with other commands, such as open <program> confirms this, since they do work. This occurs whether i initiate MSVC through the headset or through the talk button on the phone
Anyone have any clue how to get MSVC to bring up the HTC dialer when using it through bluetooth headset? MSVC works fine when i am not in handsfree mode.

it seems that the solution has to do with timing. if I wait a acouple of seconds before answering the confirmation of dialing the contact, the software has enough time to open up the contact database and then when i answer in the affirmative to redirect to the dialer. So the key is to wait a couple of seconds before answering yes or not the confirmation prompt
Also, try using, "correct", instead of, "yes". My Verizon Ozone seems to recognize it much easier, especially in a high noise environment. Maybe 'cause it's a longer word?

hi there. it is not an issue of the software not recognizing that i said es, or even correct, it is an aiiuse of that the software needs time to be able to pass the call to the HTC dialer, so if i just wait a couple of seconds and then say correct, it works. no lag issue with the sofwate when not using blue tooth though , so maybe there is a setting to solve that

[Q] Better Voice Dialer than 2.2 stock?

I have a new HTC Inspire 4G / 2.2. Used a heavily-ROMed Tilt2 before, so new to Android. I find the built-in voice dialer to be a problem. Sometimes it's perfect, but other times it proposes bizar responses. That would be OK, but it does not respond to "no" and dials it anyway. So, can I replace the built-in dialer with a better one? This phone is rooted, S-OFF.
I am not sure if I understand your question.
If you are dialing by mistake you need call confirm app from market. This will solve your problem.
https://market.android.com/details?id=net.nanabit.callconfirm&feature=search_result
There are various dialer available in market like dialer one, go dialer you can give it a try.
Currently I hold down the dial button on my BT headset until the voice prompt comes up asking what I want. I can say a name or dictate a number and the voice confirms the choice. The built-in ATT voice command system does not bail out of I say "No" and some other problems. Sometimes it goes smoothly. So I'm looking for an app or some utility to flash that is a better voice dialing system.

Voice Dialer (BT)Bug in Leaked Gingerbread Rom

I installed the leaked gingerbread rom provided by Paul today and I noticed that I am not able to use voice dialing via bluetooth headset. On the stock rom pressing the answer button on the bluetooth headset results in a voice prompt in the headset and then I can say whatever name I'd like to call, the prompt would then give a confirmation and the phone would then make the call. After installing this gingerbread rom, that functionality is no longer present. Does anyone have any ides on how to get it working? And yes I have already done a wipe, and I have also tried fixing permissions. Any ideas?
As a workaround I have found that Vlingo does work bluetooth headset. But I'd still prefer to use the built in voice dialer. If anyone has any ideas, they are more than welcome.

Bluetooth Voice Dialing

Has anyone had success with voice dialing over Bluetooth? I have the Motorola Finity headset which worked great with the Motorola Atrix but it doesn't seem to work for voice dialing on the Infuse. I had the Captivate before and voice dialing didn't work until some of the later custom ROMs started to implement it, so maybe it's a Samsung thing.
From what I've heard is the same way. No BT voice dial.

it works if you install Cyberon Voice commander
there are market apps that work but many drain battery fast. it is better to have it from the manufacturer
i wish i could tell you how to set it up but i never use it so i never looked into it. many of the sgs apks will work on this so you may not need to wait that long.
voice speed dial app works great.
