Who loves their g2x based mostly on the work the devs contribute? From the guys that build from source code to guys that try to theme through images, xml, and smali , to guys that port working stuff from phone to phone so more users can expatience it.
I love my g2x. I cant think of anything that I want to change within reason, and it got to where it's at by lots of trial and error and help from devs that stepped me thrpugh some processes.
My G2x runs on weapon 2.3.3 rom, and custom themed by my partner and in...super smooth, no reboots, everything that I use works., quick ui. Battery life is hard for me to gauge because I'm always plugging in to push files all day.
You don't wanna know where this was sent from.
I love mine so much! It's such an amazing phone. <3
Great Phone
I love my G2x as well! Running latest CM7 nightly with bluesteel theme by team carbon but I have flashed just about every ROM there is (Crackflasher and this phone handles them all with ease.
Definitely interested in the Nexus Prime but I will still keep my G2x close by. Thanks for your hard work mmapcpro!
After flashing miui rom on it, things just went from bad to awesome!! Now i can really say god i love this phone!
I absolutely HATE this phone! Jk, I cant think of any other phone I'd rather have. The dev support on this thing is amazing!

To be honest...upon first receipt I wanted to return this phone....then I quickly rooted, flashed CM7 (and now MIUI) and I couldn't imagine any other device...the screen bleed issues aside, it is an amazing device....also I have poor battery life, but hey...I don't really get peeved about that.
I have used windows mobile devices since 2004. My last windows phone broke about a year ago and had to use a &%$#berry. In June I upgraded. Knowing I wanted a android but not really knowing the fist thing about it. Sure I had played around with a few devices kind of knew what I was looking for. I got the phone and loved it from the fist min. I will admit this not a beginners or novice users phone.....any how still just as fun now as minute one.

If there was a ROM that allowed one to use Netflix, HBO Go, and control HDMI output, this phone would be tits.

Yep, it's close but not perfect yet. Still trying to decide if I want to stick around long enough to see if it becomes perfect.

Like you I had buyer's remorse. After LG update tool, and EB 1.07 I've had no hardware issues.
The A2DP isn't issue cause I don't use it. Pleased overall but it took a while to get here. Didn't exchange my phone. Didn't see the point, still on my first phone.
So far so good

I took a chance on a second hand one and had it shipped to Thailand before I saw it (reputable supplier I have purchased many devices from). I can only see some minor screen bleed on all black in a dark environment. Other than that I am quite happy with my G2X. Sim unlocked it with a $2.99 code from eBay, updated with LG Updater to 2.3.3 with a minor glitch that was easily overcome, no reboots, no lockups, no problems at all. Just a super fast, super charged phone that loves to eat its battery for lunch. I can get through a day at work but when I get home my beloved G2X cries out for food.
BTW, whoever has said you cannot update without a T-Mobile number is wrong. I had a Thai sim in mine (TOT3G) when I ran the updater and when it got to the part where it said "checking number" it flew right past it. So the guy on Walmart Family Mobile who said his failed on the number check must have had some other issue causing the update to fail.
I'm really enjoying this phone! I made the move from AT&T and a HTC Aria, which I did love. My wife is having a harder time getting to like her phone though. She previously was using a 3GS but by switching to T-mobile we are saving almost 40 a month over AT&T. I know you can unlock Iphones for T-mobile but her 3GS has an upgraded baseband and latest firmware which prevents an untethered Jailbreak and unlock, so no Iphone migration.
I love this phone. I'm running cm7 trigger2 2.3.5 with go launcher, launcher pro+, and Regina launcher. This phone performs flawlessly on all three launchers.
Big ups to G2x!!!

I love my G2x. Almost brought it back after reading all the issues here but I'm glad I didn't. I have used XBoarders rom and now Weapon G2x.
My wife and I both love our G2x's. Now that EaglesBlood 2.3.3 has improved the battery life dramatically I can't find a single thing to ***** about except the back button in the browser. A minor issue but annoying considering it work as it should with froyo.

Hey. I'm pretty new here, but I've been lurking for some time now. I picked up a Transformer at BB a week ago as a replacement to my iPad 2, and I'm very impressed. I have seen many ROMs available for this device, especially Revolver. I was wondering if it is worth rooting my TF and installing Revolver. Is it really that much of a difference? The only lag I experience is when I head to the stock browser, but on Dolphin for Pad I'm fine. I know there are probably hundreds of topics like this, but I haven't found any. I just wondered whether the advantages of Revolver are worth the root. Thanks!

Congrats i just baught one for myself late july as a B-Day present im loving it as well.
in regards to your question, it just depends. Keep in mind that Google has yet to relase the source code for Honeycomb so most roms are based on Gingerbread. Not that its a bad thing, but if your like me, i really do like the stock honeycomb interface.
Ofcoarse you could always just change roms and see how you like it, i myself am just going to wait for ICS in december/early2012
I've bought my Transformer a few days ago, and the first thing I've done is to root and flash a ROM on it.
My personal preference was to flash the latest PRIME build (which is HC3.2, the same as Revolver), as it seems like the dev seems to keep it up-to-date (even daily updates sometimes), and replies to most (if not all) issues people have... He also seems to work very hard by himself to get everything working and happy for everyone. I also have it over-clocked to 1.5GHz, and I've seen nothing but faster speeds on my Transformer and haven't noticed a big drop in battery life (I still have my Transformeron, after 30 hours of use).
The only downside is that you won't be able to receive any OTAs (Over The Air) updates straight from ASUS, but for something like PRIME, we get updates almost straight away as well through the dev that's developing it.
Before you think of rooting/romming, I suggest having a look at where you put the charger in your Transformer. There should be a black sticker that has the serial number. If it starts with B60, you're good to go. If it's B70 or above, you might want to research a bit more before trying to flash/rom (as there were some problems with the newer batch of Transformers with flashing).
But like anything, you can always keep a Titanium Backup of your apps/data and try different ROMs. (I'm thinking of trying out Revolver in a few days).
If you don't like it, you can always go back to stock anyway. Nothing big. It took me 10 minutes to flash from stock with NVFlash, so it's not really a hard process either.
if you don't know whether you should root or not, then you don't really need to root. you don't buying a hammer, then go looking for things to hammer. same with rooting.
that being said, the most generic reasons to root is 1) so you can do system backups, 2) overclocking, 3) use it as a hammer.
there are many specific reasons to root, but just as i can't list all the purposes of a hammer, i can't list all the reasons you would want to root.
it's hammer time.

He/she was talking about romming, not rooting. But sure, same sort of thing applies. It's really individual preferences.
Really, if you're absolutely happy with STOCK, then I suggest leaving it like that. It's sort of how there's a stock model of a car, and a tuned/modified model of the same car. One will get you from A to B faster (and maybe in more style some may argue), but both will get you to your destination in the end.
Thanks. I am eligible for the root, but I think I'll stay stock because I am not presently having any problems. All I can say is I am loving my Transformer!

So I went to black friday at best buy with my wife and we got me the Transformer, but she wont let me have it until xmas...
Now, for the next month, my goal is to convince her somehow that its a good idea to give it to me now! And that aint workin so well..
Anyone know if ICS is coming to the Transformer?
Do yourself a solid, and search
Buuut since it's almost christmas time; yes it will get ICS.
Haha i knew i was going to be told to search! I was just too excited!
I just bricked my skyrocket, so hopefully my wife will let me have my transformer now that i have to wait over a week to get my phone back haha.. We will see...
Whats the best rom for the transformer? In your opinion?
I haven't heard anything official about ICS coming to the TF101, but I wouldn't doubt that since it has most of the features that seem to be required for it. If not, I am sure it would be available to rooted devices

Well, It's really a preference. I'm using Revolver 3.9.5 now, and so far I like. What you can do is load a ROM and play with for a few weeks and then load a different one and see how that one is.
Here are some links to different ROMS:
Revolver

Android Revolutions

Prime

Hope this helps.
If you look at Asus website they state the transformer is upgradable to ICS.

Thanks johnny for the links! I've got a folder ready with some roms and everything haha, so once i finally convince my wife (or mommy haha) to let me have it, which will probably be Christmas morning.. ugg... Then i can pop on a rom and get busy with it! I think i'll try the revolver first..
I tried showing her good reviews and videos and everything, and she didnt care.. She's determined to make me wait until Christmas! Oh well, only a week away now! And i still dont have my Skyrocket back from Samsung, so im androidless
In my opinion, Revolver 3.95 is the best ROM for the Transformer (love the easy mods in Revolver Parts), but I have not tried that many... thinking about going to Revolution HD soon, just didn't want to in the first place cause I didn't want to completely wipe my TF, but now I think I am game enough to. Give a few a try, as has already been mentioned the most popular ones are Revolver, Revolution HD and Prime.
Sucks you can't get it until Christmas XD but it is less than a week away now .
tno~~
New to the Transformer this week.
I only had my Transformer for a couple of days till I rooted it and flashed Revolution HD. It is now much smoother and snappier. I am really loving it.
btw. I came from an iPad 2..... I love the fact I can hack this thing to my delight.
TF101 32Gb, Revolution HD 2.2.1
I didnt even trying out the stock rom..lol
i flashed a rom on it within minutes of opening it.. I hate stock anything...

So I ended up returning my prime after 8 months, and ordered a tf700. It's hard to read up so much in the prime forums and now I'm a newb to these neck of the woods. I don't see much developement going on for the tf700 in the forum, maybe cuz it's still new?
I have read its a pretty solid upgrade from the prime considering the I/O issues I've read about. Having said that, what does it come shipped with? Honecomb? I know its rootable, and unlockable. Theres a working clockwork right?
Any better than stock roms to flash at the moment? Or just wait it out until JB? Thanks fellows...time to read some more
It is completely rootable and unlockable. I believe theres CWM and TWRP. Comes with ICS. Might need to do an update. My personal opinion is to wait for JB.
This probably should be in Q&A also.
Sent from my Transformer Infinity.
The Infinity is at its infancy. So custom roms are still in its early stages and bugs will be evident but this tablet is definitely an upgrade to the Prime which I sold for the Infinity. When I had my Prime I could only get two bars from my bedroom while my router was in the living area. Now I have full freakin bars! GPS is just as accurate and locks on to as many as the Extension kit. It has some performances issues but nothing Jelly Bean can remedy. Battery is ok doesn't last as long compared to Prime, but I'm sure an update or two will fix that. Also it will heat up on you because of that higher res screen. Mine got as high as 108.9° when playing games.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using XDA Premium App
I updated from the Prime and must say that the Infinity is a huge upgrade. It may not seem like much but the software is faster and the build quality has improved. Stuff like the improved buttons and the change of location of the headphone jack doesn't seem like much, but is well thought out, especially when it is in the dock. And the WiFi performance is 10 times better than the Prime, which is a huge upgrade. I am very pleased with this device and should have been what the Prime was.

Well, I just got it, powered it on, and boy its friggin laggy. The software on here really sux. Time to root I guess. Won't help much, but whatever
also, should I root now while on 22, or do the .26 ota first?
Same root method for both. .26 fixes alot of the lag.

Good point. There quality control is suspect. My tablet is rock solid. No flexing, no noises when trying to flex. Excellent materials. I do feel bad for some that have a bad experience. I'm thinking some bootleg builds made it out. Buy your tab from a respectable place like best buy!

I'm very happy with mine even though it's still locked and I'm not running CleanRom.
2.4 CleanROM here, no Clemsyn yet (trying 2.4 out for bit first to get some feel for the improvements in fluidity -- the Master himself asked for this ) -- great tablet. Stock is less than impressive, but with some TLC, the 700 is a fiery monster.
I'm very happy with this tablet. With its customized doc it is better than all the other Android tablets out there IMHO.
Asus has released several OTAs, showing they are continually involved in keeping this table up to date.
Add me to the list of happy users. After unlocking, flashing cm10, very satisfied with this!

Bought mine end of september and got ota to ics immediately and 1 week later ota to jb.
Have no build problems ( very well build) and it was fast and fluid on stock and locked.
Unlocked and rooted after 5 weeks and flashed cleanrom.
Well from the first day I said it is the best device I bought since a long time and for me as business user it's replacing my laptop 90% of the time easily.
The dock and screen are excellent and it is the best choice I made in comparison to other tablets.
No Icrap because it is MY tablet and compared with other tablets it is without competition.
What you want more: Good build quality, very fast and fluid and smooth, excellent dock and screen, very good battery life when on travel (min 14 hrs).
Never thought it was that good :good::good:
It could be better. I'm rooted and debloated but I'm not going to ROM it. I don't want to go down that same path as I did with my phone - too many problems, sleepless nights, headaches, and compromises. I'm done being a nerd.

Hey! Hey!
Out of the box I was happy, I received a good build quality...no squeaky screen, the tab and dock where flawless. (lucky me ).
I was later made much happier by unlocking, rooting, custom recovery and custom ROM......My flavour of choice was CleanROM. Still on 2.3 with Clemsysn's OC and bit depth mods. Also using the Data2SD (enhanced) mod. All of this took a good tablet experience and made it a LOT better.
Now if we could get Samsung's Quality Control to teach Asus how to build a device, and get Asus to teach Samsung how to develop for frequent updates. Match made in heaven. (I hope BOTH Sammysong and Assus are reading this).
CHEERS!
