CLARIFICATION:For starters let me say thanks to everyone that has checked out this port. I appreciate everyones help and support although, some seem to think I used mbobino's mytouch port as a base. This is incorrect. I used this as my base http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1178288. It is the 2.3.4 stock rom for the Galcier, not 2.3.3. I had talked to the dev about continuing that port but then noticed that there was an update and decided to take it on as my first port. Ok, since that's outta the way, on with the show!!!!
INTRO:
This is my first attempt at a port. There are issues that I am working on to get this as stable as possible so please have patience. I took on this port after using mbobino's 2.3.3. port of the Mytouch 4g and falling in love with what I personally think Sense should look like.
This as it stands is the 2.3.4 GB leak for the Mytouch 4g. This is a "Work In Progress" but there will be updates. I use this rom as it stands as a daily and its issues doesn't cause me any issues or complaints. The main goal I have for this rom is to have it as close to a stock rom experience as possible. Being that I am still learning, any and all help is greatly appreciated.

No 4G doesn't and may not ever work. This rom is a port from a GSM device. Forgot to mention it. Will edit op right now.

I sent him a pm. Just never got a response. I found what I need to do, just having issues getting it done without it bootlooping on start up. I'm at work right now so I will add some screenies to the op. Thinking about adding the gingerbread keyboard in also. You guys tell me what you think.

[ROM] {WIP} "STOCK" T-mobile G2 Gingerbread Port to Shift

For those that don't know this is a stock port of the T-MO G2 2.3.4 Gingerbread rom. There are a few issues with the rom and those will be listed further down. I took on this port for a few reasons. First off, I like the stability and light feeling that aosp roms give and also it's a stock rom. No additives! No 20-way reboots or power controls in the drop down menu. This is pure stock aosp and nothing else.
Being that this a port and I don't consider my self a developer of any kind there are a few issues that need to be fixed before this is complete. As-is the rom can and has been used as a daily and it has been by myself for about a week. I will be releasing a few different versions of this rom if there is interest.
I know it's not the newest version of android but it's something to play with while we wait for a fully working ICS port
If anyone want's to join in and help get this port finished with me, any and all help would be greatly appreciated in advance.
Here are the issues:
V 1.0
1: Camera- force closes when launching
2: Youtube- videos try to load but they dont
3: 160 text Character limit
4: 9016 text from voicemail
5: 4G ( gsm port so it may never work)
Thats all I can think of right now. As far as I know everything else works. Just do a backup and give it a test spin. Report back with issues and any other questions that you may have.
Pretty much all t-mo bloat has been removed but being that it is a stock rom, I decided to leave the "With Google" apps in. I will make another version with it all trimmed down only to the most necessary apps.
I am not responsible for anything that you do to your device. If you mess it up, don't try to blame me or the rom. That's all for now. Enjoy

Here is the fix for mms. It converts any text over 160 chars to an mms. I did not test it but should work fine. Here's the Link

Jefftet, tried the apk and it wouldn't allow me to type any further than 160 chars. The original one would allow me to type more but then gave errors and wouldn't send. I appreciate you taking the time to provide your input.

Jefftet can surely come up with a fix he's a good guy and does a lot of good work for our speedy and by the way i'm loving the rom. i'll be sure to be using this rom for a good while and flash all fixes and versions

The link to thread pasted below is to a sweet new(?) rom for t-mobile, vis-a-vis skyrocket. Its called DARKSIDE-Dewizzed, as the moniker hints, it has been de-touchwizzed (yet still contains some of the nicer twizz shortcuts. It is very nice, much love to Royalknight6190. Royalknight6190, also states w/in OP that all Juggernaut and KL1 themes from T-mo thread SHOULD work over this rom...
I think this may need some love to be ported directly for our device (over my head), but that being said it's beautiful as is.

I have searched thread from our dev section high and low but Have not figured out what kernels we can effectively flash over T-mo roms...I tried flashing this rom & booting w/out conversion & it was perfectly operational except for having to turn off auto rotate (which was cured by flashing t-mo conversion.zip).

Looks cool. I think with the conversion pack you can flash Da_Gs kernel too. But i may be wrong.

Its pretty fn sweet. I'm running it w/darkside theme + 4g/LTE zip (yes they do cater to skyrocket users)
Would like to flash 1 of our kernals just not certain of the outcome...
Oh well, I'll give it a go and update...I have a jig so very worst case scenario I should be able to fix any problems.

Browser is laggy, working on the issue for now use an alternative.
those are pretty big bugs for me to consider using this full time. Are you having this problem?

I turned wifi calling off, it says error need to have similar something something...I will send myself a mms when the wife gets home w/ her phone...
Error msg goes away w/wifi call setting turned off. Btw
Browser is definitely buggy; however, I am using 'opera' until it is fixed and it is just fine.

No prob. So, whats different in this ROM? What exactly is Zeam launcher? All I've ever caught wind of is Trebuchet and Nova. Also, in the LC builds, the camera is glitchy. Is that fixed with this camera?

The camera glitch can be cured 2 ways:
1. Open camera, if it shows black, lock and unlock
2. Use Camera 360.
Either method works fine.
Zeam is a simple yet mildly customizable launcher. Took me away from ADW! Trebuchet is a CM Launcher.

Just give him some slack. He's just offering some help with another option for ICS. No one said You had to download the ROM and test it, did they? Its just another OPTION for us to CHOOSE to flash on our phone. Its not mandatory.

This SHOULD NOT be a problem as this section is chopped full of people posting up their own modded MIUI's etc. I'm sure you've already messaged him. It is what it is.

No issues for me. Maybe clear data in settings

Ahhh, yes. Wipe is needed. Figured it was assumed since I do out of habit lol

Did a cache/dalvick wipe + factory data reset before flashing. Overall impression - not bad for beta, needs some tweaking. Battery life fair. Used 30% in 10hrs. Bluetooth paired normally, but instead of rings got bursts of static when calls made. Camera worked okay. Had to tap button twice to get past black screen. Was told some calls had bit on an echo.

OP, I believe LC got Bluetooth calls working on his source with CM Bluetooth. Check his git for fix or just switch to CM bluez, etc

What is this fix? I tried searching but only three threads come up with "bluez"

nope just when i flash quick settings everything works just inside the auto rotation/wi-fi/mobile network boxes theres (low on space) and (phone storage space is getting low) which is not true. im going to start all over i guess.also i cant rid the0-9 popup box,which i think is related to the text popup apk i put in the rom. This was my first ever port attempt but ill get it working.

You have a pretty awesome base to work with and your doing a great job so far, Keep at it. Im really digin it so far. Agreed. Good work! It's nice to see some of the mods from previous versions working on the new base. The text being wrong in the Quick Settings issue is going to be hex edit in SystemUI.apk, I believe. outerdepth had a similar issue when porting the Express. He might be able to help.

Ive been bangin away on this rom all day and i mean all day non stop. From flashing at 97% till now its been 6 1/2 hours non stop. Different mods,, stock kernel, different other kernels constant reboots, about 35 mms about 20 sms a couple hours web surfing,just playin with it non stop and im still at 47% battery. battery life is off the chart This rom just keeps getting better and better and its not even a day old yet. Im going to hang with the new freedom universal kernel for a day and then check the lionfish 1.8 universal for a day and see which ones the best...

Does that kernel affect your ability to use USB to PC, or affect the orientation of the front-facing camera in Google Video Chat?

USB to PC works fine, but front facing camera is upside down with the god mode, let me ck the universal and ill get back to you. lol, Didnt even ck the front camera till you mentioned it
EDIT: God mode is upsidedown as well
Ive already tried the lionfish 1.8 universal with almost the same performance and battery life (off the grid dude) as freedom and front facing camera is upside right. hope this helps somewhat,,,Later

try the Less- Lionfish-1.8-bright UNIVERSAL, youll get about the same performance and battery and your ffc will be right
Also try Papa Smurfs Smurfed out script, You wont regret it works great with this rom
