[Q] BLN Setup - Nexus S Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

How do I setup the BLN app to work? I flashed Netarchy's kernel and I'm on a Nexus S 4G and I downloaded the BLN Control App Pro it just won't make the LED lights blink.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Does it even work on the NS4G?
I'd love it if it does. But ive tried using Netarchy's Kernal wit ha couple of different roms and BLN has never worked for me.
-Ash-

It apparently is supposed to so I hope we can figure it out.

It works fine with net’s kernels. Download the app, check the box to turn BLN on and then set preferences. Done.

Still no luck for me. Any ideas?

Are you sure you are on Netarchy's kernel? And is your battery over 30%? (The default cutoff point for BLN)

bln
On my Nexus S 4G BLN didn't actually work until I toggled BLN on/off from within the BLN app, after that worked great. Or a reboot would probably work too

Got it, phone just needed a reboot thanks!

Audio Question

Does anyone know if voodoo and DSP Manager can both work together in harmony, or will one try to override the other. I am wondering this since dsp is installed to the system and voodoo is installed to data.
Sent from my Nexus S 4G
I would not enable both at the same time.

[Q] CM7 Rom support 4G speeds ??

Patiently waiting for the fedex guy to deliver my Nexus s 4G, first thing I'm going to do is root it and plan to install CM7 Rom. But I was trying to find out if any of the nightly builds support 4G data yet, I ask this because I was reading up on a tutorial to install the CM7 Rom, but it mentioned that on the latest stable version of CM7, the 4g toggle doesn't work.
You could have asked this on the cm7 thread...................................................................................................................Yes 4g works, you just cannot use a toggle widget. You must go into settings and turn it on/off.

Low microphone level during calls

People say my voice is low and they can barely hear me..on cm7 never heard that before.
Running stock rooted 2.3.7 matrix 4.5 kernel.
I tried using a voice recorder app and it sounded fine.
Anything I can do?

Are you using voodoo sound? If so, do you have the oversampling enabled on the mic? If so, turn it off.
I have voodoo control but I do not see that option.

Uninstalled voodoo control app and back to normal.

Issue with nexus s 4g

I'm having an issue with my nexus s 4g. When I'm on stock Tom non rooted eeverything works fine. When I root and put on different roms my phone acts weird. When I have a different rom on when I'm charging my phone everything is fine. As soon as I take the phone off and let the screen turn off for about 15+ seconds the screen won't turn back. The only way to turn the screen back on is removing the batteru and reinserting it. I've tried different roms but I'm having the same problem. I went back to stock in the meantime while I try to figure this out. Thanks in advance

R u using a different kernal that has deep idle...try turning that off...also...what roms r u trying??

I don't change any kernels. I do a lot of underclocking. I keep it at 1000 Max and 100 low on demand mode but when my screen is off I keep it at 100 max and low. I've tried different gingerbread roms. Today I tried the aosp rom and it did the same thing so I'm assuming its something with my phone

It's not the roms or the phone. You can't clock the processor down that low when screen is off. It will never wake up.

alright. Ill change it tomorrow and see wat happens. I was enjoying aosp rom. How low do you recoomend?

It's better to ask the kernel dev about clock speeds
Sent from my SGH-T959 using xda premium
I figured out that its set CPU which is affecting my phone. I'm on aosp ics from and its working great without it. As soon as I enable set CPU my phone starts acting weird.

Yeah, because you clocked it too low. When your remove setcpu, it returns to the kernels stock clock speeds. Don't blame the program....it's works just fine for everyone else.

when I did the adjustments to the setting it made my phone constantly reboot. I got rid of the app and my phone is fine. I never had an issue with it when I had it on my HTC evo 4g

Because you clocked it too low. I think anything below 800 while sleeping well prevent it from waking. You can't clock it at 100 max.

NoLED works fine on the Skyrocket for giving you screen notifications.
BLN only lists a few Galaxy S devices that are supported. The Skyrocket was not one of them. Cool concept, but I couldn't get it to work on NeXuS 2.0.

I'll second this. This is what I'm using. In the settings though: I would suggest putting it to sleep at night so it doesn't drain battery while you sleep (still lights up the screen alittle bit otherwise).
