Hello, im the developer of Root Call Blocker, an advanced call and SMS blocking app for rooted phones.
The app is currently in open beta here at XDA:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1051274
I dont have the inspire and need testers! Please let me know if you are interested in some hard-core testing and logging...
Your in the wrong place, the inspire isn't a CDMA phone.
That was just a copy paste issue - we still need testers of all sorts, so dont be shy!
I actually stumbled upon this in the market about 2 days ago and downloaded. It actually blocked all of my calls, incoming and outgoing. Since i couldnt call out i promptly uninstalled it. I'll be honest, i didnt spend a whole lot of time with it and at that moment didnt have time to really test it out much.
Theres no way it could be blocking outgoing calls. We have tested it extensively and this is the first time I hear mention of the issue...
After I installed it, if I manually typed in a number and hit the call button then the keypad would just disappear and return to my call history, after I uninstalled I was able to place calls again..
I didn't try a number from my contact list though, so I don't know if that had anything to do with it.. I would have tested further but my kids were with a baby sitter and I needed my phone to work.. I love the concept though

I've been running it now for I guess 2 weeks. I have my ex and her boyfriends number in my blacklist. Been working great
Good to know... be sure to donate!
Been running it for awhile now and its great for blocking the annoying unknown numbers. Keep up the good work.
Thank you! Prey tell, does it block it block SMS as well?
I don't really get any.unknown SMS so I don't know
Hi, you could always use Skype to call/text yourself. I often calls from unknown and private numbers...
I had the same problem if not being able to make calls. Had to turn the app off to fix. Any idea why it would be doing that?
It should not be doing that. In fact, you are the first person to have this issue.
It is probably your rom, but if you want us to fix it, please, send some logs (use the "send debug data" menu item).
Here's the logcat
http://db.tt/WYZ5JaJ
Hi, that is not what we need - the app has its own logging mechanism. Please use the "Send debug data" menu item in Settings. Be sure to include a brief description of your error at the top of the page!
Hello guys, please get me some feedbeack on the latest build. Are sms blocking issues with ";block and save" still present?
Guys, whats the story - many agreed to test but im getting no logs from people with inspires!

I havent re-installed this yet... but just so you know, the MODEL of the inspire actually shows up as Desire HD.. so if you are looking for MODEL=Inspire in the debug logs, then you wont ever see any, unless someone changes the build.prop
i havent sent a log because i havent had a problem. Today i got a call that was supposed to be blocked, and when i opened the app it said that that version had expired. i uninstalled and reinstalled and all is good again.

I have been using YouMail's service on my phones for quite some time and was excited to see there was an app for Android, but after 2+ months of use (and several versions of the .apk, including the most recent Beta) I am still experiencing 100% awake time when the app is running.
If I kill it my phone will immedietly because to sleep normally. But each time I receive a phone call or open the app it will keep the phone from sleeping again.
I have been in contact with their support (which is how I received the Beta version) and have been sending Dumps their way, but was wondering if anyone else is experiencing this issue.
Info: Running Fresh 1.1 on a newly 1.56 RUU'ed hero.

I stopped using the app because of this. I tried contacting support and was brushed off. I love the app but not the lack letting my phone sleep.
I am working with a developer of the app to fix the problem and have tested several versions. Will keep you updated of the progress.

That would be great. Thanks for helping him out with this as I would love to use the app.
I don't mean to thread jack this, but.
Whats the difference in YouMail and our Sprint Visual Voice Mail? I have never used youMail.

YouMail http://www.youmail.com/home/index.do is a service that replaces Sprint's (or any other provider) voice mail service with their own. It allows you to set custom "smart" greetings for each caller in your contacts, among other things. Check out the site for more info.
Here is the latest response from the developer I have been working with.
Hi [Name],
I did some more research and can confirm that I see the same behavior as you when I run the YouMail app ('active' @ 100%)
I'm not exactly sure what the cause is, as the application is indeed going to sleep when it has nothing to do. The problem also seems to be quite widespread, affecting what seems to be "most" applications that loiter around in the background doing nothing for most of the time.
Since you use 'Spare Parts' you should notice that in there is a way of viewing the 'Partial Wake Lock' usage of a given application. According to the Android developer documentation this is the ONLY way an application can keep the phone "awake" other than 'prodding' it every 30 seconds or so (and you'd notice that 'coz the screen would never go off).
As long as that "Partial Wake Lock" value is low (and it should be unless you're constantly hitting "Menu -> Poll") it means the application is indeed behaving correctly.
All I can offer is that we develop a new feature into the app so that you can tell it to automatically exit when all of the automatic polling settings are disabled - that way the phone would literally shut down the app "sometime" after you back out of the message list. Do you think that's worth it? Or should we wait for HTC/T-Mobile to fix the root cause of the problem?

And my response:
Do you mind if I share some of our conversation with a community forum? It might help get others involved and more feedback for you to use in further development.
As far as other apps loitering in the background, my understanding is that Android (using the same process as other Linux distros) keeps recently used applications in RAM to make them more quickly accessible to the user, and will clear them as the RAM is needed by other apps.
I have seen this issue in the past with other apps (i.e. the HTC messaging app locking the dialer and maintaining 100% awake time) but has all been resolved by updates to the apps themselves.

Lastly, his response:
Feel free, I don't think I said anything bad
I we get enough requests from "the community" I'll be given time to add the 'exit when done' option (basically it'll become a "dumb" app that only checks for messages when you start it up instead of waking up every so often to check [like after you miss a call])
And yes, Android is a little stranger than normal in that it tends to leave applications running for an unspecified time after you "close" them. (basically until it needs to run something else, or it runs out of memory, or .....)
The YouMail app is a little different in that it runs as a background service and schedules the phone to wake it up whenever "events of interest" occur (you get a TXT, your phone rings, it needs to poll, etc) - so even if the OS does close the app because you logged onto "hugebitmaps.com" and the phone ran out of memory, it'll start it up again as soon as it can.
I suspect the HERO OS is not allowing the phone to sleep, even though the application is literally doing nothing. I don't recall this problem on my trusty G1 when it had Android 1.5, so maybe some of HTC's customizations have broken something

I can post more of the conversation history if it would help. Anyone have any ideas what might be causing this beyond coding issues?
If anyone wants to send their YouMail log for inspection just enter this code in the dialer *#*#963867#*#* (*#*#YMDUMP#*#*) and it will let you send an email with the log's text.
Tried in 2.1 beta
"I suspect the HERO OS is not allowing the phone to sleep, even though the application is literally doing nothing. I don't recall this problem on my trusty G1 when it had Android 1.5, so maybe some of HTC's customizations have broken something "
I also tried using this app on the 2.1 ROM that Flipz and company have been working on, and had the same issue. I do not know enough programing to determine if this is a problem with OS or the app. I can only give you my experience and try other stuff out to see what the results are. I hope this helps.
Kevin
Hi, Doug from YouMail here.
Just noticed my words and thought I'd give an update - although not much good news.
I basically spent the last 2 days completely reworking the YouMail app's back end code so that anything and everything that could possibly be shut down when it isn't actually doing anything is indeed shut down.
When it came time to test it out -- 100% awake time again (although I stand by my earlier comments that "its not just us").
If I run the same app on a HTC G1 the phone will last a good 2 days (maybe more) without battery issues. If I uninstall the app the difference is minor.
This information, added to all the discussion on the Sprint forums about how the HTC "extras" that this phone comes bundled with have caused the same problem leads me to think that there is something in the Hero that's not behaving properly.
I see other comments like "It does the same on my <insert phone model here>" - well, we don't have unlimited resources, so if you can put the small amount of effort in to dial the 'dump' code mentioned above (*#*#963867#*#*) then maybe we can start to find a pattern here (maybe it's all the Android 1.5 based devices for example).
I'd also like to thank crunchybutternut for all of his assistance and time in trying to sort this issue out.

If I can get in touch with someone who has access to the "guts" of the device and that can help me determine whats going wrong then that would be great. Neither the Android developer list nor the HTC forums are particularly helpful when it comes to tricky problems.
Bump
Anyone have some insight on this?
Ok - If someone working on one of these custom builds is prepared to lend a little assistance I'm willing to put a custom build on my phone and try to debug this a little deeper. However, with the number of hours that I get to work on this app.... and all the "fun" blocks that Google have been putting in our way w.r.t Android 2.x, I may not get much more time to work this problem.
That being said, I'm going to try experimenting with a new test app that just adds (one at a time) the raw features of the YouMail app in the hope that a single change triggers this wonderful problem you guys have. If that's the case then I'll put on my Sherlock Holmes hat and try to work around whatever is causing it.

Got this from ymDoug:
No progress as yet - not seen anything from xda folks either.
I've made *massive* changes to ensure the app is shutting down absolutely everything it can when it has nothing to do - still no joy.
I've even gone through a lot of the Android source code and can't find anything that would indicate I'm doing anything wrong. There is one debugging method I'd dearly love to call inside the Google Android code (it dumps out a list of who is keeping the phone awake at any point in time) but the method is only accessible to (a) Google, and (b) People who cook their own ROMs. The official Android people are doing their usual stand-up job of ignoring the difficult questions
I am still making the odd change here and there, and my test app doesn't seem to be having the same problems (of course)
Regardless, there will be an updated version on the web site in the next day or so - I'll need to ensure my changes haven't completely screwed things up

FYI: The version in the market is several revisions behind.
Hello guys, im the developer of Root Call Blocker, an advanced call and SMS blocking app for rooted phones.
The app is currently in open beta here at XDA:

I dont have a nexus one and need testers urgently!
I tried this and it works great. No problems installing, may need some kind of setup guide, but the help was good. If you want to ask for more details gtalk me webluke @ Webluke.net
Sent from my Nexus One
We dont use gtalk im afraid, so i would be greatful if you could just post here or PM me!
We now have additional reject methods (a prep build is on itrs way in an hour or so and i would like to know if peoples routing troubles are solved.
There will be 2 new reject methods!
Updated, let me know if your issues are fixed please!
tested
heyy I used it for a while on my nexus one and found that it worked perfectly. But, the main problem is it reduced my cell phone reception badly. I was unable to get good 3g signals. It kept switching to edge. If this problem is rectified it would awesome!
Im not sure if this was RCB at fault... its not an issue we hear about. Did you ever actually send any logs?
The app does not interfere with the phones connectivity. It only drops network once at first run and thats all.
Hi, the latest update is working flawlessly!
Guys, test please today update. It's looks like more stable!
nope sorry if it was a false alarm i did not send in any logs and but i found that problem on my phone. I tried it out twice and the same thing happened in both the cases. But, the call blocking feature is working perfectly. I am running rod's miuimod 3.3.3 version.
Good to hear... please leave a nice comment on the market!
Awesome!!
Tried it again, just now. Looks like the problem's been fixed. Its great!!! no signal drop nothing.
Im glad to have helped! Please, leave a nice comment on the market to that effect
I already did
Sent from my MIUIMOD using XDA Premium App
Thanks, always good to be appreciated!
superb kudos
Thanks, please leave a nice comment on the market, or get the donate version
Hi guys, any feedback on the latest version of the app? We are just about to release an update...
only issue I see now is that when i restart my phone, the program doesn't seem to start automatically like it should.
The first call that I receive, the signal drops (I can't answer the call) and then it seems the program starts up... and the prompt "program has been granted superuser permissions" or whatever comes up.
I can avoid this by opening the program manually after restarting the phone... but doesn't this defeat the purpose of setting the program to start up on it's own when the phone is restarted?

Shouldnt be happening. Send a log. Use "write to developer" in settings. If you dont write a description, i will ignore the letter.
ReadItToMe Lite is now on the android market. For those who missed my other thread it is an app which reads out your incoming sms and calls automatically via bluetooth or a headset or even your phone speaker depending on what you prefer. It also translates txt speak so unlike other apps which find reading sms's (at least mine ) difficult.. with ReadItToMe btw becomes 'by the way' and lol becomes 'laugh out loud'.. as well as that you can add your own words so for example 'diff' could become different..
ReadItToMe Pro - Reply with your voice
If would like to be an alpha/beta tester for the pro version I have attatched it below. This adds the option after you receive a message to reply to or call that person back using your voice.
This is how it works atm:
1 - You receive a message, it may be read or not depending on your settings.
2 - You will then hear a beep (same beep as when you increase ringer volume)
3 - If you want to reply to the message you say 'reply' then your message, all in one go, without a pause.. ie 'reply thanks for testing my app'
- If you want to call that person you say 'call'
4 - If you don't say either call or reply it will do nothing.. if you do say either it will confirm with you your chosen action to which you say yes or no
There is a test button as well to test out the feature.. although obviously this will not send and sms or call anyone.. its just to test how it works/captures your voice etc..
As always feature requests or ideas on how you would prefer it to work are always welcome
Note - The auto data option will turn your data on to capture your voice and off afterwards. So if you are like me and always have data off you can still use this app. (Speech to text translation requires trranslation via google servers in case you didn't know, hence the need for data)
Known bugs:
- You may need to say yes or no twice to confirm your action
I'm installing now and am happy to be a tester...if you don't mind having a tester who doesn't know anything and can never figure anything out
Good Aplication
I'm not getting call announcements streamed through my bluetooth
But I do get incoming call information through the handeset speakerphone
I wonder if an option to disable the ringtone could/should be added so just the callers number/ name should be read instead of both since the ringtone and readittome read info is done over one another
Will gladly test the application and give you the feedback.
I'm just now getting to testing the reply system....here's what happens
1... I receive an sms and the application reads it to me
2...There is an audible beep and I say "reply"
3...I get asked if I want to reply
4...I say "yes"
5...there is another audible beep and I start speaking
6...the app tells me the message is sent
7...no message is sent afterwards
Feedback....
The app is awesome without the reply feature so please don't take anything as a complaint, I hope I can do a decent enough job explaining what occurs on my device clearly enough so as to not add confusion as you work on the application lol...
After I say "reply" and after I answer "yes", it would be nice if the application gave a notification to start speaking a reply, a beep would suffice, a voice instruction and a beep would be perfect....as it is now, I am never sure if my answering "yes" to confirm I want to send a reply is accepted by the application so I find myself saying "yes" twice and then start speaking my reply...I find myself listening for an acceptance to my answer of "yes" and then hesitating to speak my reply because I'm not sure my answer is accepted....maybe what I'd prefer (not that it matters haha)...is...
1...receive sms and it is read to me
2...a beep occurs and I say "reply"
3...the app asks if I'm sure and then a beep occurs
4...I answer "yes"
5...a beep occurs and the app says "reply after the beep"
6...a beep occurs and I know to start speaking
Another optional scenario could be ........
1...receive sms and it is read
2...the app says " if you would like to reply via sms say "reply", if you would like to call, say call...speak your selection after the beep"....and then a beep occurs....
3...the app acknowledges the selection and says "you have selected to reply via sms, please speak your reply after the beep"....OR...if "call" was selected the application could say "dialing now"
Just two cents from someone who doesn't know anything and can never figure anything out
I tested the call-back feature....it works ...........of course using it the first time I didn't exactly know what to expext so when propmpted I said "call" and when asked to confirm I just said "yes yes yes yes yes"....lol....and then...IT WORKED ...very nice

Thanks for that feedback, that's very useful.. One thing which I may not have explained properly in the 1st post, the reason no message is being sent is because the way it works is you hear the beep, you say reply and your message all in one go.. it will then say reply to x your message, is that correct? if you then say yes it will send your message.. atm as you are only saying reply it thinks you want to send a blank message hence nothing is sent as I disabled sending blank messages.. I'll try and clear that up in the original post..
As to how you'd like it to work my thinking was to have it available if you want and unnoticeable if you didn't.. so for example if you don't say reply or call it will do nothing, I personally didn't want it to ask what I wanted to do however if this is the consensus amongst you guys I can add that option in..
Also were you using it via the phones mic or bluetooth?
Again thanks for the feedback.. any other testers feedback would also be appreciated..
I used it via the device handset mic as you had already mentioned the headset wasnt operational yet.....I‘ll test it now and report back momentarily.....additionally, I‘ll say.....the way youve designed it makes it much more intuitive than being prompted by the application to confirm a users choice, which makes it faster to do something.....so now that we know how to use it, I say leave it like you designed it...
I tested it as you descibe, and voila!! Success ...I say "reply" and then speak my message, the app asks for confirmation and I answer "yes" and it sent succesfully...awesome, crazyfool...very nice ...it might help others to know that when the application speaks to confirm the selection, the user replies to the application before the next beep...meaning....
When the application asks a question, once the question is asked, it awaits a reply once it's done speaking...if the user hears a beep after the voice, the opportunity to reply has passed you by and the beep is your signal that you took too long to answer it
Crazyfool, what do you think about adding an option for the user to select whether certain characters are read or not... things like forward slashes and such
new version up.. it'll now yet you reply or call over bluetooth.. would appreciate it you guys could test this and see how it works for you..
as to excluding characters it is possible although I'm not sure where that would come in handy?

Also everyone whos having an issue could you ensure tts works on your phone. If you enter some txt speak and press read if nothing is read then the issue is not the sms or calls but the tts settings on your phone or the volume.
Thanks for this great app, been looking for this functionality for ages. Just wondering if this is somewhere where we can request enhancements.
I was thinking about having an option that lets you have a voice confirmation that you want the incoming SMS to be read aloud.
Works perfectly. Thanks so much for this.

Hmm.. personally I wouldn't want that but if enough people do then I can implement it.. however.. it got me thinking about maybe having a whitelist/blacklist ie if you don't want a certain persons sms to be read.. what do you think?

Hi guys, Im the dev of Root Call Blocker, a powerful blocking solution. There have been a few reports of people experiencing issues with the data connection on the X, which i dont have.
Could someone please let me know if this is indeed the case?
If you do find an issue please follow this procedure:
- as soon as you spot the radio without a data connection (not after a call) send logs through the "Write to us" item in Settings
- once youve sent the report, try using the Debugging tools found in settings
- if the tools do not help, please send another report - this will still help me track issues
Thanks in advance, PR after the break

CleanROM 4.5
I had it on the original One X, if you remember there were some issues with RCB in the early days of that device. I recently have moved over to the One XL and have had no issues at all with RCB.
I'm running CleanROM Dev Beta 4.5
Perhaps the problems people are having has to do with the new AT&T OTA?

Go into your list setup. Press "Add". Scroll down and select "Add private and withheld".
The description reads: "Includes anyone calling from unknown, private, restricted and otherwise withheld numbers."
I am having some issues with root call blocker, basically I have it in hidden mode and when I type in the password it loads a black screen with the menu bar and nothing else, the menu bar is unresponsive. Will continue trying to send logs.
Also I am running nocturnal limited edition ROM if that helps.
EDIT: It seems if I clear my data I can get into it for a split second but once it is granted root permissions the screen goes black, I lose service, sim card has to ready itself again, and the same issue as I stated above happens again.

But aha! So, after doing a recovery install, call blocker wasn't doing its job. So, I restarted the telephony service, super user then asked to grant it access. We'll see if it works. But prior to this it wasn't even in the super user app list.

I have tried to fix this apparent issue, but on our one x everything works fine. Have you tried another launcher? Or another rom? I only say this because rare issues like this are really hard to track...

Sorry what are you saying? That whatever you did in recovery broke root call blocker?

Something along those lines. I did a Nandroid of my ROM with Root Call Blocker on it. I flashed a few ROMs but decided that CleanROM was the one for me. So I flashed it back through recovery.
Upon doing this, SU never asked to grant permissions for RBC, nor was it on the list of approved apps. RBC then let a few "Unknown" calls through."
I cleared cache, deleted the app, reinstalled it, but nothing. SU was never even triggered. After I went through the Settings and restarted the telephony service in RBC's settings, SU asked to grant it permissions. So, perhaps that's a fix for anyone who's not having their calls blocked?
Never mind haha
How much does it cost after the trial ends?
EDIT: Never mind I see there is a pro version. A little too expensive for me. I probably wouldn't use it much. If it was like $3.49 or around there I could see buying it. Anyway, sounds like a really good app. Keep up the good work.

I'm not sure that clicking "enable blocking" counts as a fix.
I didn't say anything about enable blocking. I said restart telephony is what I clicked. Enable blocking was checked off and the app wasn't working.

What you are saying is that somehow the app never had root. That is not a problem with the app, but rather with the user.

If you say so. But clicking/unclicking Enable Blocking did nothing to trigger a response from SU. Not to mention, prior to the recovery, it worked just fine. Hitting the "reset telephony option" changed that.
But hey, if you don't want people trying to help you with YOUR bad programming (for free no less), that's on you. There's other apps in the market that don't have this issue and do the same thing.

I have tried other ROMs and even a stock build. I've cleared cache, etc. but am still unable to get anything to show when I open it. Unfortunately I have tried everything I can think of to get logs but have been unsuccessful. When I first install it there is no problems other than having trouble getting root at first. Not sure if logs from that stage will help since the issue doesn't occur till I set up hidden mode.

Hey guys,
This is my first post, and I would greatly appreciate some help. I'm clearly quite a rookie at this. But I rooted my Verizon gs3 quite some time ago, and everything has run smoothly since. I did use it while in the UK on GiffGaff Mobile, and still worked fine. Now I am using Simple Mobile.
Just today, I installed the CyanogenMod 11 KitKat. I am able to send & receive MMS. And I can receive SMS, but I cannot send SMS.
I have tried changing the SMSC number using the dialer, but it keeps reverting back to "+12063130004",145 . I have also tried using different SMSC codes using the GoSMS app. I've played around with the APNs as well, but from the little that I know about this, this only has to do with MMS not SMS, correct?
Don't know what else to do, and I can't find any threads that have helped me yet.
PLEASE help, and I would greatly appreciate it.

If you toggle airplane mode or reboot the phone can you send an SMS? I haven't played with my phone at all lately but suddenly similar symptoms have manifested. I can send 1 SMS every time I reboot, but then it stops sending SMS after that one. Is this true with you? I haven't found a fix yet, but I'm trying to flush out the problem completely.

I figured it out!! Finally! I had the same issue - I was able to send one message, then suddenly nothing. Do you have Google Voice+ ?? If so, try disabling it. You cannot disable it through the Settings>Apps - you actually have to go into the App then and select disable.

I don't see "Google Voice+" Are you referring to Google+ or a different app altogether? This is driving me mad.

Its just called Voice+. I know, I spent hours trying to sort it out. Other than that and messing around with the SMSC number, I'm not sure what else would be the problem.

So what do you mean by go into the app? if I press menu> manage apps, and then under the tab "All" at the bottom there is a "Voice+". I'm on CM10.2 and it appears that the "Voice+" is part of CM. If I open my app drawer and scroll down there is no app called Voice+.
There is Voice Dialer and Voice Search, but nothing else in the app drawer with a similar name. If I'm not going down the correct path please let me know. Thank you.

Hmm, that's odd that its not showing up in the app drawer. It should be. Do you use Google Voice at all? On my phone, the option to disable or uninstall is blocked when I go into Settings>Apps. But if you don't use the app and your phone allows you to, maybe try disabling and/or uninstalling from there?? Let me know, and I'll keep looking.

So, I have the option to force stop it. (no change in results).
I've even downloaded the "Google Voice" app, which added the "Voice+" app, opened it, confirmed that it was on disable and still no change.
I have no idea why this problem started this morning since I don't believe I am any changes to my phone the past couple days... I really don't know what information I can provide to help troubleshoot it...
I'm having the same exact problem starting this morning. I can send exactly one message and then I have to reboot or turn airplane mode on/off to send another. Everything was working perfectly fine yesterday, though. I've tried deleting my phone's cache in the recovery menu but it hasn't helped.

Are you also on CM11? What is your carrier? I've done a factory reset and upgraded from CM10.2 to CM11 and still haven't been able to ride my self from the problem. Nothing I have tried has changed anything. I made a new thread since it seems that the original purpose of this thread has been answered via the disabling of Voice+. The new thread is http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2657822

Carrier: Verizon. I was initially on CM 10.2 but both rolled back to CM 10.1 and upgraded to CM 11 to see if any of those fixed the problem. Neither did and I reluctantly (for now at least) went back to stock and unrooted my phone. Texting is working fine but I absolutely hate TouchWiz. I have no idea what could have caused the issue and, like you, I didn't make any changes at all before it happened. It literally appeared out of the blue.

A bunch of us on S4s seem to be having the same problem! The timing of this issue all happening at once is weird... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=50552025
OK this really does seem to work for me as a temp workaround...it sticks through reboots and all. Go to the dialer and enter the trusty old *#*#4636#*#* then go to phone settings and change preferred network type to CDMA only then back out and reboot.
It kinda sucks cause it's slow on the go, but at least I can send texts reliably. I have WiFi most places I am anyway.
If anyone figures out a real long term fix please post!!!

sorry for such a late response. I solved this by just disabling Google Voice+. It is just called Voice+ in the app drawer, and when you open it, just tap 'Disable' & reboot the device.

Some people don't have voice+ and the solution you used isn't an option for them.
For those of us less fortunate than you, It seems you can fix the problem by loading a TW ROM and flashing the MB1 firmware. Then you can return to CM
I had XVoice+ for Exposed on my SGS4, it stopped me from sending texts. It was ok when i uninstalled it. I hope that might help.
