Hi,
Just recently upgraded to the above phone on O2 but am finding the 3G internet extremely slow. My girlfriend got a HTC desire upgrade on O2 at the same time & her 3G internet is about 50 times quicker than mine !
Have fellows users experienced similiar problems ? Any ideas how to resolve ?
Thanks
I am wondering the exact same thing. I can't even get the facebook app to load, exept when I'm on a Wifi connection.
Does anybody know what could cause this problem?
Yeh I'm the same as well... Very, very frustrating.. even on full signal H+ it is almost like it isnt loading anything... do you think it might be the internet app itself??
Same problem here. On WiFi it works like a charm, but om 3G it's really slow. Even network coverage is low. On HTC its fine and I'm able to use the full 3G capacity I'm paying for but on my S2 it really sucks.
Any ideas?
Upgrade?
Have you tried upgrading your device? If not go to Settings>About phone>Software update?
I have a galaxy S2 with a 3 signal...speed looks alright not sure if it is slow in compared to others.
Let me know your Kernel version and Android Version

I want to use my phone over here in Afghanistan. I'm not trying internet or anything like that, just want the phone service. Actually everything seems to work fine but I keep getting to popups that I cannot find out why...
The Answering modem has disconnected. to check your connection ....
And then sometimes I get messeges about not being able to connect to the GPRS
I know GPRS is internet but I cannot find anything else looking to connect. Also whatever is trying to run is eating my battery. In the states with 3G turned off I get almost 3-days, but this is only giving me about a day, just like when my 3G is on.
Any ideas? BTW I'm using a Tael ROM that dates back to May.
I don`t exacly understund your problem...
But maybe you need to enable a roaming?
Hey fellow Nexus S users.
I Would like to get some help from you out there!
Some days ago i decided to get an internet subscription from my carrier (Telenor) and it got activated today. The thing is that it seems there is no 3G signal which is essential for going online. The strange thing is , that we got the same subscription on my mothers , kinda old Nokia phone, and she has 3G and we live in the same house.
I started to suspect there was something wrong with my Gingerbread so reinstallted the stock 2.3.4 ROM form xda. Still nothing. Did a hard reset, still nothing.
Could it be a hardware failure? ( God I hope not :/ )
Anyone else experiencing the same problem?
By the way its the i9023 GRJ22 version.
Best wishes
Khemist
EDIT: Also, is there any way to force the phone to use 3G insted of GSM or something?
Hello all,
Ive noticed recently that I lose my data connection on my Sensation 4G (4g, 3g, or edge) whenever I am on a phone call. It comes back immediately after I hang up, but I can't use any data while on the call. Its really strange as Ive never had this issue on any of my previous TMobile phones (G2x, Vibrant, G1). Anyone else have the same issue and has anyone found a fix\workaround? Its quite annoying when ur trying to look up something in Google Maps while on a call and theres no data
Ive double-checked WCDMA\GSM Auto is enabled in wireless settings btw., and it switched between Edge, 3g adn 4g without issue. Seems limited to being on a phone call.
want to know this answer as well

It's based on the Carrier that u r using..This is not an issue of the Phone.
I'm on Vodafone India with same issue..I can't get data connection while Call, But when I switched the Carrier it works again...
So in short this is depended on the Carrier that u r using..Some carriers support this dual task(call+data) and some dont...

Good morning.
I have a problem ..
I have a Nexus S I9020A and installed the ICS of the beam, but not really like.
But now the problem is that sometimes I get no network! and I can not make calls or send messages ..
already moved to the radio KF1 and this happens ..
Last night everything was ok, but today morning it was with this problem ..
Rebooted and is now working ..
what can I do?
Now I have the new rom of oxygen with the kernel of the franc.
Thank you!
Well, now I went to an area where the network is low, and sometimes do not even have.
Turns out I've been moving in the part where I choose the network automatically or manually, and now when I have network, I get no service, and it appears over a triangle with an exclamation point to say that the network tmn is not available, or something like this ..
I too would like a fix... I just bought the phone coming from a vibrant thinking, sprint, 4G, Google nexus s, hell ya! The minute I left I noticed service was surprisingly low compared to my vibrant. I figure throw a custom rom, kernel, modem package would fix it.. nothing. Full 3g at home on the vibrant... lucky to see 2 bars (in fact I haven't EVER seen 4 bars on here anywhere) . Pretty close to returning it... I thought the now network meant faster speeds... just a catch phrase I guess.... I've flashed the 3 radios posted and all three didn't change my signal at all....

I know that the radio was a problem on the NS4g last summer (my friend got one, then returned it for an evo because she couldn't get a data connection) and I thought it had been taken care of by now. My wife's phone was stolen last night and I found a NS4g for 120 (only used for 2 days!) on craigslist so I went for it. Anyway, I tried connecting to 4g and it is sporadic. I placed my e3d next to it and they both showed 1 bar, but my e3d achieved 3.5 Mbs and her ns4g got 800 kbs.
So my question is: does 4g still suck? If so, can I mitigate that with a different rom (I am completely stock at the moment). Please help me out since we both use 4g pretty regularly.
Soooo, I guess by the large amount of views and lack of responses, that I have stumbled across one of those questions that I am not supposed to ask. Perhaps this is one that has been asked ad nauseum and is thus being ignored??? I do apologize if that is the case, but I can't seem to find the right search terms to bring up a discussion of if the radios were ever fixed and if there are any ROMs which mitigate the weak signal. If someone can point me in the right direction, I would be appreciated, if not, I will let this thread die.
Well I am sorry as I am on T mobile with an I9020T ...... Not sure about Sprint network .
But from the numbers you mentioned , 3.5 megabits per sec isn't that high !! even on 3G I get sometimes a higher speeds ... I think I didn't miss much going with a 3G device not with a 4G one !!
BTW , what android version and radio you're on currently ? did this NS4G got any OTA as you start using it ? did you ask Sprint about the issue ?
Goodluck

On the sprint network 3g is like 1x. LOL I usually get somewhere around 300k on 3g (thus the importance of 4g). To be fair, I only had one bar on 4g (I usually get around 7-8 M on wimax). Anyway, I made sure to manually request all the updates through the menu and I am all up to date. Android version is 2.37 I believe, but am unsure since the wife has the phone and is away at the moment. radio? not sure. I haven't asked sprint about it yet. I just wanted to check here to see.
