Patch being released for Optimus 2X - T-Mobile LG G2x

http://www.ubergizmo.com/2011/05/lg-to-release-optimus-2x-patch/
It looks like we might finally be getting a patch to fix the rebooting issues. While this article pertains to the Optimus 2X at least LG knows about the problem and is moving to fix it.

Oh thank God! My problems aren't as severe, but when adding apps, it can have some annoying pauses. Also when it reloads the launcher it builds the app list. My Nexus One did it instantaneously.

I desperately need this... my phone rebooted about 8 times today

I removed my task manager (advanced task manager) and my phone hasn't rebooted sojce I posted that last post

Never use a task manager because it abruptly stops an app instead of letting it close on its own

This solved all my issues with the G2x basically its a start from scratch.
First save all your data on /sdcard and your external sd
Remove external SD format on PC with an SD card formatter (Google)
Boot in recovery wipe the format sdcard and system
Reinstall your external SD newly formated
Use one click recovery load stock flash
Now use one click load CWM I used external ver
Boot into recovery
Load your fav rom (EB, Bionic, ect) and then Trinity Kernel optional
Reboot (btw bug in CWM does not reboot turns off just turn back on)
let sit 10 mins
reboot
let sit 5 mins
reboot
login
let sit (if on wifi about 10 mins for apps to load on 4G longer)
after doing this I have not had 1 issue in the last 48 hours rock solid

G1: Cyanogen reboots randomly and sound stops when getting texts/calls

I have a couple problems that I've been having since rooting my phone and installing cyanogen. I'm currently using cyanogenmod 4.2.2 with recovery 1.4 on my t-mobile g1. Also, I have the CM updater.
1. When I am using my stock headset, the phone restarts automatically at random intervals. Also, when the headphones are plugged in when the phone initially starts, the phone will definitely restart shortly after the home screen finishes loading.
2. When I am listening to music through the stock headset (either through the base music app or pandora) and I receive a call or text message, I lose all sound functionality (including in-call sounds) When this happens I have to unplug my phone and restart it again to regain sound functionality.
Are these bugs with the following that others are experiencing that can't be avoided:
1. cyanogenmod or
2. root or
3. cyanogen recovery 1.4?
Am I the only one that has had these problems? Is there another ROM that anyone would recommend that would most likely rectify this?
Help!!!!
I have the same problem.
No idea how to fix it?
G1
CyanogenMod 4.2.2
I think I fixed my own problem
I flashed this new radio:
http://sapphire-port-dream.googlecode.com/files/ota-radio-2_22_19_26I.zip
Then I backed up my sd card, formatted it, and partitioned it into a main fat32 partition and a 500mb ex2 partition.
Then I wiped and re-flashed cyanogen 4.2.2 and it works!!!
Also, it took me a while to figure out how to partition my sd card. It seems there is no easy way to do this with windows vista. I had to use Ubuntu's partition manager called "gparted". Apparently this can be done without actually installing Ubuntu if you just boot from the CD, but my computer wouldn't read the sd card through Ubuntu until I installed ubuntu and downloaded the updates. Then when I was done I tried to delete the Ubuntu partition (VERY BAD IDEA). Now my computer won't boot at all and I have to find a way to re-write my master boot record (MBR) which I don't know how to do. CRAP!!!

Dude, take your HDD out of the computer, put it inside a USB enclosure and save your data, then just delete all partitions and install Windows again. Next time, you can just install Ubuntu from INSIDE Windows with "wubi.exe".
As for the sporadic resets, I am having the same problem. Only thing is: I had just flashed the 4.2.2 rom in the phone, wiped, and just then, being in the WC, I get a call, take the phone out of my pocket, it slips from my hand and drops right inside the can (yes, it had just been cleaned, Thank God), took it out fast enough, battery out. Couldn't find the screwdriver for it so I shook as much water as I could off, and let it dry in front of a full throttle fan for about 12 hrs.
It reset itself some times after that, but I don't know if the problem is the Rom, hope it is, (sorry). Next thing I know is, there's an update to ver. 4.2.5, so I updated, hasn't done it again yet, it's been 36hrs.
Hope I could help and anoy you some guys...
I have the same problem with my G1 (cyanogenMod-4.2.5 kernel 2.6.29.6-cm42 baseband 62.505.20.17H_2.22.19.26I), had to change from cyanogenMod-3.6.6 hoping it will fix the reboot problem, but it doesn't change
I reformat SD card (1 Gb) and repartitioned it, doesn't fix the problem. The difference is that is reboots now less frequently (with cyanogenMod-3.6.6 it started reboot suddenly and did it every 20min - 3 hrs, now 1-3 times a day).
Seems that it somehow related to WiFi connection, and may be email receiving process (may be free space problem? But as far as i can check there is free space available on the SD card).
If with cyanogenMod-3.6.6 i could assume that some new installed application caused it, then with 4.2.5 i didn't install anything, and it starts rebooting again recently.
Is there a way to write a log or something to see which app caused reboot? It's linux anyway, so should be smth to see the reason, right?
Updated to CM-4.2.7.1 and added a 4GB Class 6 TF

LUKE, I AM YOUR FATHER, NOT...
Just kidding, just couldn't let a chance like this pass me by, sorry .
2 days ago I changed the 2GB TF (which was a class 1) with a 4GB TF, now a class 6. Wiped the phone and added an ext3 1GB partition.
Yesterday I updated the CYanogen Mod to ver 4.2.7.1. Haven't seen another reset since, but it could be that I haven't used the phone much other than for phone calls since the update. But altogether it seems pretty stable.
I just used the cm-updater and everything was done automatically.
If you don't already have it, download it from the market, check for new roms and download the one I said. Please let us know if it makes any difference for you.

I still for the life of me can not figure out why people are having to do this. As habbit I do steps 11-15 every time I flash a rom and have no issues at all.
I do thank you guys for putting it out there ...definitely helps those that do run into the issue

something definitely is weird with the clock work
i beleive even though its the same almost everything
some miscommunication happens with the skyrocket
it wont fix permissions right
and you run into issues where dalvik cache wont clear
or simply put it wont fully clear a partition thats been flash over and over and overand has become corrupt
never had clockwork act like this
i just ran it on my atrix and it took seriously 2 minutes when i chose fix permissions
and on our sky rocket. no matter what ,, its always instant
Vote to pinned this post! amazing post very helpful.
pinnd agreed
just did it worked flawless
I agree this should be pinned.
I just followed these instructions after having a ton of weird FC's (google services framework, market, etc) even though I hadn't made any changes to a stable setup.
Now everything's running smoothly and haven't seen an FC.
Does the odin have bootloaders?
Will this method trigger flash counter?

I have noticed that if you are running a t-mobile rom the fix permissions takes signifigantly longer...just an fyi
Awesome instructions and helped me in fixing some weird issues I had with my phone.
BTW, if you using OSX or Linux (as I do), you can do this with windows running inside vmware if you use the SGS Drivers from Softpedia.
I used this one 1.4.8 sgs drivers
So it's necessary to format the external sd too? Our would just internal be sufficient?
I did this last night, just the internal SD card. Took my 16GB microsd out when I did it. The ROM runs nearly perfect now

[Q] 2 Things....ROBOT PARTITION ... KEYBOARD L.E.D.'S....

I had the robot going on about partition, system not available and 3 min....uncooperation... reboot after reboot same thing. This is what I did... Odin,Superoneclick, and ICS( root ,superuser, rom manager, root manager) anyway took out my sd card after new rom loaded, all unmounts visible and diable lagfix then reboot. It boot right up. Leading me to believe my sd is shot, I have repartitioned it over and over but it wont root. Still has the files to zip a rom but wont allow system to boot.Hopefully this helps someone.
Is there a way to regulate the keyboard light up time? It seems to me it goes out to quick. SK2 I had for years had a option to timeout the keyboard.
Yes I'll post a mood

[Q] Crash of random applications and app data deleted.

Hey,
I booted up my phone this morning but the boot animation stucked and I had to reboot it. When the phone booted up again, all my personal data was wiped, and all the applications I launched, except for my launcher, crashed after a second. And even if I touch nothing, random apps start crashing. I can't even run TB to backup things. Since most of my app data is on a partition of my SD card, I tried to put it on my PC but only the 'multimedia data' part mounted correctly.
Is there anything I can do apart from flashing a new row and wiping everything ? Maybe accessing it from my PC ? Or do something from CWM ?
My phone is running Kyrillos 9.7.1 with G3 Mod Non-Oc.
^It seems to me that there's something wrong with your partition.
Just format and repartition your sd card to fix any corruption issues!

[Q] p6800 Reboot Issue, How to Save my Files?

I was using my p6800 running Paranoid Android 3.54 to record audio and I filled up the internal memory. I used ES File explorer to cut the files from the internal SD Card and paste them to the external. They copied correctly, but then my device suddenly rebooted itself. During the "Samsung 7.7" flash screen, I can now hear a clicking sound for a few seconds. The phone rebooted, detected my SIM card, seemed to be working fine... then it rebooted again. I've wiped data, cache, dalvik. I've used CWM to flash a fresh version of PA. But I still get the same problem.
From google research, it seems that I have a corrupted eMMC, which I could probably just format, reinstall a rom, and solve the problem. But this all happened on vacation and I have some pictures I really want to save.
During the 10 or so seconds before the phone reboots, I can see that the files are still there. In previous versions of CWM there was an option for connecting via USB, but seems my current vesion doesn't have this option. If I use Odin to install a newer version (6.0.2.3) will it have this option? Will it wipe my files?
I just need to access those files from CWM or recovery mode and copy them over, but I can't find anyone with this specific problem or a good solution. Does anyone have any other suggestions or options?
Are you able to boot into recovery? I haven't used cwm to much but TWRP has a file explorer option and I'm sure you can copy and move files that way.

I just reread your OP and I went from stock to PA 3.56 and in the forum from Daniel as long as you flashed correctly and was up and running you should have avoided the emmc brick bug. you might have another issue
Get a converter and put the micro sd into your pc card reader lol, simple as that
