Everything seems to work till you go to watch the movie then it will only play for 8sec thru the app. At least I can finish watching the movie thru the TF's browser.
So you can watch the movie in the browser? 720p?

Yes sir. I launched the app, clicked on the video which launched the browser to make the purchase. I ordered the movie, clicked play and it asked me to play back thru the app or the browser. I tried the app and it would only play 8sec then stop. I went back to the browser and this time when it asked me to choose I picked the browser and it worked fine. Yes, in 720p
EDIT: Forgot to mention I was getting an message in the app player something about my rental had expired.
Also, it gives you the ability to display personal videos on a youtube style video wall. Now just gotta figure out how to make cover art show up, instead of the video snippet it uses. This is what I was coming on the boards tonight to actually inquire about - How to show movies with cover art from a screen I could choose from. Problem solved!
I am10 minutes into Hall Pass, playing right out of the app, tethered to my iPhone while in the car. This is super sweet.

Ok I rented "The rite". I was able to play it in the browser and in the video app. Only at 480p though.

Ok it only played for a minute in the app. But it still going in the browser. Also I'm able to watch the movie on google tv.

How did you set up you iPhone to tether?...I can't get my 3G iPhone to connect to my TF...It saw the TF once trying to use BlueTooth tether but no joy getting it connected......

What's up, neighbor in Orlando? I am in Vero Beach...
Super simple...for your 3G (NOT a 3GS, right?) you'll need to jailbreak it and find an app in Cydia called 'MyWi' or 'PDANet'. Both of these will allow you to both tether with the USB cable as well as via wifi and bluetooth. If you have a 3GS, and you happen to be running iOS 4.x, you can download a tweak called 'TetherMe' which enables the native hotspot tethering in iOS4. Good luck...PM me with any questions.

OK so were you on home wifi or 3g when you did this. And how come you were only able to play the movie in 480p. Were you playing it in 480p in the browser or in the app?

I was at home on my wifi. I played it thru the browser. Paying it thru the app only played it for about a minute. Don't know why it only allowed 480p but it only allow that on my google tv too.

hmmm the rite is a fairly new movie. Maybe it has something to do with the fact it was playing on the web and not on the app. Although that's odd because on YouTube when a video is HD it plays 720. Oh well thanks for answering the posts. Hopefully Google will release the in app video update soon.
Does anyone have the APK or this that the could share, its a free app in the market but its not vailable in the uk and I wouldn't mind checking it out

But it's not available for all devices including mine. But it does work. The original Syfy app I have now. Thus why I want the updated APK. BUT THANKS!

Has anyone got the APK for the Syfy Sync app version 5.0.1 . It seems its not availiable in the UK. Id like to see if it syncs with my philips Hue lightbulbs.

Yes, any chance anyone could upload the latest APK? I'm in Canada so it won't let me download it, but as the Hue sync works with recorded and streamed programs, I'm hoping to stream one of the Hue enhanced shows from Netflix or somewhere and try this Hue sync stuff out. Please please please please please

This is it; Syfy Sync app version 5.0.1
I will show you how to get apk file from Play store when you're from restricted country.
1. Find your app on Google search machine (you will see link from Play Store, get this link 'cos you won't find be able to find it directly from Play Store.)
2. Copy app url from Play store
3. Paste this url to search box on this site (Android is open-source and Google allow anyone to get apk file directly from their host). Enter
4. If lucky, you will get apk file of your wanted app/game with all version (oldest to latest).

Can you test it out and make sure it works? The way it sounded in the article was that TW only allowed a few devices for it to work on. Thanks btw.
I would but doubt it will be all that effective for what I coukd test, I'm with Comcast and the parental unit controks the only set top.

Doesn't seem worth testing. Just use tv listings app from Market. Time Warner app doesn't stream live unless you are on an iPad.
Which is why I've never bothered with the XFinity TV app, they only support *real* watching on an iOS device.

I installed the app and registered. It works, but the above post is correct. It's easier to use the set top box. If I'm not at my TV, what do I care what is on?
It does, however, allow you to view your shows set up to record, and to set shows to record. While that may be occasionally useful, I'll probably forget I have that capability and never use it.
No pooint if they don't suppose live streaming right? I just checked, it's available on the market, but I don't wanna download a stupid and useless app..

I have the app on my Transformer and I use it allot. It can control all of the boxes in my house and change the channel as well. Pretty useful if you have you tab in hand.

Has anyone tried this app out on the TF101.
Silly EA seems to have prevented us from downloading the app officially from the market. Yet people say it works on the prime???? Even dumber, I can downloading on my ol' school t-mobile G2.
I though about buying it on my G2, then doing a Titanium Backup over to the TF101.
Has anyone tried it, doing something simular?
I got it to work on my Transformer, no fiddling necessary.

You know what, it just randomly started working. I kept checking cause since I paid for it it was never playable. Then it started working one day.
So yes then I used TB to carry it over.....but it has stoped working again.....that and a few other games.......

Just restore .apk from TI backup.
If the game checks device info (Eg. Gameloft):
This method can be used for Gameloft games: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25509954#post25509954 So I'm sure one can be derived for other apps.
Another method is to modify your Device ID to something like the galaxy nexus in the Build.prop file. This does change your whole device, though.
All requires Root.
Anyone else having problems with words with friends? I've uninstalled/reinstalled several times. Cleared data and cache several times. I finally got it to log in with fb and it went to the screen that shows available games, but it always closes after selecting a game. Usually it just closes and gives me the option to report. Worked great on the Prime. Any thoughts?

I had to rip the apk from my phone. It seems that it's the tablet version that doesn't work ironically.
now the thing is, when i download it from amazon, google play tells me theres an update for it. so when i install the update, it goes back to being the messed up version. so i have to uninstall and get it from amazon again. They really need to fix this.

Yep because Amazon is really giving you the phone version. Google Play wants you to have the tablet version, which I would want to if it worked....

Oh good, it's not just me. I installed it, and got notifications from it, but app wouldn't open. I figured they will probably fix the bug or Asus will release JB and it might start working.

ok correction:
install from store straight from infinity: didnt work
