So since there is no way to make a folder on honeycomb, what have you guys started using? I use Simi folder widget on my phone, but I can't install it from the market on my TF. I have also tried circle launcher, but don't care much for it.
This one works pretty well HERE. I'm sure there are free alternatives though.

I agree. i'm using the free version.....may purchase the full one.
I use folder organizer as well. Works perfectly in combination with Desktop Visualizer!
I use another launcher ADW EX

i know this may seem like a step in the wrong direction BUT i prefer the hero style application drawer opposed to the nexus one launcher. does anybody know how to get the hero app drawer onto the nexus one? ive tried themes from GDE and pandahome but they leave much to be desired. i guess i just got used to the app drawer on my rooted G1 and mytouch and i want it on my nexus now too! my N1 is rooted and running Cyanogen's latest rom. im not familiar with adb but i know how to install files through a file manager and im learning to use metamorph as well.

If you are learning metamorph, the closest you can get is to make it look like the hero launcher. Resize the images from the launcher/res/drawable, and put them in your launcher2/res/drawable-hdpi.

But the thing is if you put the hero images in the L2 then it will look odd since the left and right buttons function differently.
i should have been more clear lol...i downloaded metamorph the other day and i have been toying with applying themes and such. i dont in fact know how to create the files necessary for creating the metamorph.
to be quite honest, id be satisfied with "pandahome-hero" except for the fact that it wont work with better cut or live wallpapers. the launcher buttons work perfectly on that theme but better cut/live wallpapers are a deal breaker for me.

The phone icon in Panda Home Hero is off a little and I can't stand it xD.
i hadnt noticed that....until now! hahaha
Open home (on the market) can use a Hero skin. I would much prefer a metamorph though... I want the same thing...
Hey everybody, I have tried to search around and I have found no luck, but does anyone know if they have ported the sense ui and can you load it on the captivate? maybe a dumb question i dunno but i figured i would give it a try.
Not yet. Mostly everyone has been working on the gps issues and lag fixes.
just use Launcher Pro and then find a .apk file for fancy widget (a copy of the clock), it's not sense, but its much snappier than the stock captivate launcher and it has some HTC like widgets in the paid version, I find it very functional ^_^
Ive tried several different launchers including launcher pro but i found that i like adw launcher the best. You can download a sense theme for it from the market. I previously had samset 1.5 & 1.8 installed which includes the clock widget. After i synced to app brain i was able to reinstall it after i flashed a different rom. This is pretty much my ui of choice. It has been running great, plus you can enable horizontal swipe in the app drawer via adw settings which i find to work more smoothly. Hope that might have helped some for the time being.

Thank You! I too have been looking for a version of sense for the Captivate. This does a good job of pulling off the over all look and feel!
Another vote for the paid version of Fancy Widget. Very customizable and can be made to look just like Sense.
Sense UI isn't just a skin or launcher like TouchWiz. It actually replaces a lot of stuff in the ROM and has its own framework. You can't just "add" it to a ROM. It IS the ROM. I don't think you'll have it running on Galaxy S phone anytime soon.

Not working:
1.camera
2.phone service
3.HTC usb menu (can be fixed with a script made by dexter, and smali to some jar's)
4.Turning of the device
5.HTC's hibernate mode
6.Lockscreen( pressing power to bring the phone from standby will not get a lockscreen after like 5min, plug the device to usb cable and it should bring the lockscreen up)
7.Other things i might have forgotten.

You don't get it do you. I posted the link where this was being looked at. I never stated it worked. Don't be so hung up on being right when in fact you aren't. This question is unnecessary and will be locked by a mod because the question has been answered.

Does anyone know of a good replacement launcher I can try out? I'm currently using LauncherPro, and I like it, and would even pay for it if it was available for purchase on the market, but I'm not paying for something like this on PayPal. Not necessarily that I don't trust the dev, but if he has it available and finished, then why not put it up on the market?
Not being able to resize my widgets is definitely getting annoying (plus the fact that the launcher text message indicator doesn't clear if I manually go into Text Messaging and read the messages). I would possibly even stick with the built-in launcher, if I was able to set the number of home screens...7 is way too much. I have 5 set now, and I'm only using 4.
So, does anyone know of a good launcher, free or for a small price (like I said, I'm not against paying if it's a good product, and available on the market)?
Adw launcher.

I believe the reason LauncherPro Plus is not on the market is that the author cannot put it there due to him being in a country that doesn't allow paid apps or something.
I haven’t made it available through the Android market because unfortunately I don’t live in one of the few countries that Google allows to sell paid apps from. And there’s stil a huge amount of people (including myself) who live in countries where paid apps aren’t even available to purchase. (Way to go, Google!)

ADW looks good so far...and free, supported by paid themes, which I'll definitely be checking out if I keep it. However, I can't seem to resize widgets once they're added to a homescreen. Is there a way to do that?

To resize widgets, you either have to use the default Motorola launcher or Launcher Pro Plus.

I'm almost positive adw has this capability. I'm not using it right now thogh so I can't say for sure.

ADW does indeed support widget resizing. However, I think it's only available at the time you create the widget. To resize, you would have to delete the widget and re-create. (I guess that really isn't 're-sizing' but rather 'Sizing' )
If you are trying to use the resizable Blur widgets with ADW, they simply don't play nice. At least the contact widgets don't. I'm not a social guy (no facebook/twitter/foursquare etc here), so I've never used any of those widgets.
Pay for launcher pro plus. Its worth it.

I would definitely consider it if it was on the market...but I've never needed PayPal before, so I never created an account, and I don't see it happening to purchase something for $2.
you can just do a one time purchase, you dont gotta set up an account.
PayPal is just the transaction server you use so noone can see the others payment info.
worth it imo for $2 you can resize your widgets and you get 4 extra widgets,
personally like the look of the calendar and messaging widget

Might as well hook one up. Soon Google will be accepting PayPal for market purchases. Quite frankly, lots of devs also use paypal for donations and all kinds of things. My advice is setup the free account. PayPal is secure and everything will be golden.
Guys, I don't know if that also has happened with your kindles, but there's no way to create a folder on my ADW.
No way at all!
When I was using Go launcher EX I could create folders easily, but with ADW it just doesn't work.
Someone is having the same problem? any workarounds?
No, it doesn't work (and ADW Launcher hasn't been updated in a while so I'm not sure if there is a new version in development or not). It's the same with shortcuts and custom shortcuts too. It's a pain, as I quite like folders, but I'm just sitting patiently for CM7, and then at that point, I probably won't care!
lol I just posted a similar problem with apps that use folders. Did you have this problem before the update?

Yeah, this has been a problem since day 1. Doesn't seem to be just ADW either, Go Launcher Ex has the same problem. Clearly something in the KF stock ROM that disables these things.
I also started a post about the creation of shortcuts ("Car Home") and the lack of the OS recognizing that when I click "Add shortcut" it should give me a list of applications.
I suppose this is related to the lack of being able to create folders. There has to be a way to fix this without resorting to going to CM7. I'd like to be able to keep the Amazon functionality with the vanilla OS feel.

I'm suspect it's buried deep in the kernel somewhere, and I'm not sure it would be any easy fix. I could be wrong, but bearing it mind it doesn't provide any errors, Amazon must have disabled it as part of providing their custom UI.
I'm with you though, I quite like the overall feel and coloring of the Amazon interface, and it's pretty damn functional with a Launcher enabled despite the minor issues such as this.
For some reason, when I was using Go launcher I was able to create the folders, but not shortcuts. Its really strange...
I side-loaded the ADW apk 1.3.6 but it doesn't seem to work on my Kindle. I know this is off-topic but I was hoping someone could tell me which version is best on the Kindle. Every time I go to install it and open it says the ADW.Launcher stopped unexpectedly :/
ADW 1.3.3.1 is the one I'm using

Simi Folder Widget has got you covered
true, and it works even though the market says its incompatible.
I was able to create folders in Go Launcher, but only by putting icons on top of each other. You have to be really precise though or the icons just move out of the way. Huge pain, took me a couple minutes for EACH folder I made. Haven't found a way to do this in ADW yet...
Hey Guys,
the new update for ADW solved the issue, besides ADW feels a little bit faster on my kindle.
BTW, folders can only be created by putting icons on top of each other, just like we do using Go Launcher.
One of the things I really like about the version of ADW that comes with CM7 is the ability to configure the "double-tap" feature...a feature that's lost on the ADW EX. I had to switch to GO Launcher anyway, b/c I needed folder support in the app drawer.
Does anyone know of an app that brings back the customizable double-tap?
Thanks, and thanks for all the great work, everyone.
Pull the apk out of CM7, install it on your current ROM, and see if that works.
I thought adw still had that... well the market version used to have it. I dunno. but yeah there is no perfect launcher. sorry I don't have a suggestion. maybe a home switcher or lockscreen app since both types of apps sometimes hijack the home key to make sure they always work and will then call up the launcher app.

The free version does, but not the pay version, oddly enough.

I'm running CM7 as my ROM now. The double-click is part of the ADW bundled with it, which I don't want to use b/c of no folder support. There wouldn't be a separate .apk for just the double click, would there? I'd imagine that'd be part of the ADW?
Give it a try. Normally apps are bundled into their own apk files.
Has a working solution ever been found to address this issue?
