Samsung Video Editor (Froyo Required) - Continuum Themes and Apps

This is a link to the thread for a full Samsung Video Editor. It requires Froyo to work, but I thought some of you might want to stash the .apk like I did.
It will install on Eclair, it just Force Closes whenever you try to open it.

Froyo isn't out for the samsung continuum yet though is it?

Correct. Hence why he said you might want to save the .apk for later.

I can verify that it doesnt show up on the 6.0.0 release (darch) or on jaybobs.
I've never used it though, so I haven't went looking for it too hard

I couldn't get it to install though

Worked for me. Adb push method. I suppose /system/app or /data/app will work. Good luck.

To add further:
Although the app installed correctly and will open, one of two things happens.
Either immediately gets killed due to what looks to be incompatible drivers. Or when the application does open to the opening splash none of the buttons function. Upon further research it would appear that this app will not work on our phone period, though I can't quote the source as I cant remember where I found it lol. If I find anything I'll let you know.
P.S. This looks pretty frickin cool.

Not gon' work
You won't find Adobe Air in the app market on your Hero, for the same reasons as Flash 10.1 doesn't work on Hero - they're both compiled for ARM7 processors, but the Hero only has an ARM6 processor. As such, you're not going to get the app market version of Adobe Air to even install on a Hero running any version of Android.
The apk version of Adobe Air that is linked above originally came from the Adobe Air pre-release pack, which was compiled for ARM6, so that one will install. It won't do you any good though. I've just tried running FlxTeroids and Gravity Lander from the app market, which both require Adobe Air, and neither of them launched after installation - they stopped after a black screen. So although you can install the version linked above, it's not going to do you any good, because all the apps which require Adobe Air actually require the latest, ARM7 version of Adobe Air, which you can't install on Android.
Please, do go and file a request for ARM6 compatibility though with Adobe. They might be swayed, but the result won't be so good as on an ARM7 device.

Modified Flash still no Hulu.

Posted this in General but did not hear anything. I dont mean to spam. Just looking for a solution.
For those who have an android phone running froyo your probably aware that hulu had blocked their site from android users. Generally in the past there were methods around this which involved installing a modified flash.apk.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=688054
Okay so I went ahead and removed the previously installed flash apk (use root explorer to do it) then I use adb to install it. The next step involved using the debug mode in the browser to make our seem like it is a desktop. Well when I type about:debug in my browser and go into the settings there is no option to change it to desktop. I only see these options:
So my question is, how the heck do we get hulu working?! When I used skyfire to and switched it to the desktop view, it said I didn't have flash installed. Any ideas?
update:
okay so i found a thread on XDA that seemed to get me a lil further but not where i wanna be.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/show...794512&page=12
this thread suggest that you just install the latest flash.apk and just replace the lib file they give u with the one that comes preinstalled. doing that gets me an error on hulu:
"Unfortunately Hulu is not supported on your platform. We apologize for any inconvenience."
Before, I just got an error saying that they are gonna bring hulu plus to android but thats about it. yes i changed it to desktop and even tried it on skyfire. nothing.
anyone?

Ive gone through the same steps ( own a nexus one and had hulu running fine) ran into the same issues on the tab. Hulu is on it, they dont want mobile browsing on the site without paying. Channelsurfing.net and atdhe.net work on the tab just fine.

won't soft brick, probably just has something to do with the framework would be my guess. It wont install though.
Evernote
I also have the Samsung Captivate and also switched tot the HTC Inspire. I downloaded the app Evernote. I like it more than the Memo app and your notes (which you can add pictures to) is all uploaded to your Evernote account. So if you switch devices all your information switches over much like Contacts with your Google account.

SmartShare

I accidentally deleted the smartshare app when i rooted my phone thinking i didn't, need it. If some one could offer me help on getting and reinstalling it that would be great.
I did the same thing. It doesnt seem to effect anything, although I didnt realize there was a smartshare option in the Wireless & networks menu. I havent tried to enable it in fear of a never ending force close, I'm going to see if there is a way I can re-install it.
Smartshare apk
This is from another post around here that has all of the original apks the phone came with, but I can't seem to find it off hand.
Thanks. To the OP just put the smartshare.apk back into system/app reboot and it will be back

Sent from my LG-P999 using XDA App
You need to move it into /system/app with a file manager that has root permission like Root Explorer and then change permissions on the app. Should have all 3 Read sections checked and the Write section for Owner and that's it. Reboot phone and should be good. You could also get a update.zip and use an archive manager to move the app into the zip then flash.

[Q] [REQ] Video application from stock ROM

On the stock HTC Inspire 4G ROM there's a program in the app list called "Videos" and it compiles a list of all videos on the local device but also shows videos on DLNA servers on a local network. In some custom ROMs they don't have this application but I use it quite a bit.
Anyone have the .apk file for this or know which .apk file I should be looking for? I tried decompressing the system.img and data.img files and looking through there but I don't know which .apk file it would be or if it's even in there.
Any help?
It should be in system<app<video.apk
Ill extract it from the new uupdate one moment.

I looked in a stock ROM and a few variations of stock ROMs - ones with system.img and data.img or userdata.img files that I've had to decompress using unyaffs and some that were viewable from within WinRAR. Can't find Video.apk or Videos.apk. So I guess the question is that which of these files corresponds to the Video app that I'm looking for and are there any other files that it relies upon in order to function correctly.
I've poked through twopumpchump's stock rooted v2 ROM and I've come up with a list of possible apks for the video application - some because the name might have something to do with a video player, others because I just have no idea what they do lol. Can anybody chime in on what they do?
htcpushmedia.apk
mediaprovider.apk
myhtc.apk
pcscii.apk
pvmtpservicestart.apk
pvwmdrmservice.apk
wispr48_adroid22_signed.apk
I also ran a comparison looking at which apps were present in the stock ROM versus which aren't in the one I'm using now, Virtuous Unity and these are the ones that are not in VU but are in the TPC's stock v2.
htcpushmedia.apk
pvmtpservicestart.apk
wispr48_adroid22_signed.apk
I'm leaning towards pushmedia so I'm going to test it and find out.
Edit: Nope, not it.
Okay, so after looking for about two hours trying to figure out which .apk is for this application, I've run dry of ideas. Hopefully someone can help.
I haven't Been on a computer so as soon as I get on one. Ill look for you

Old thread bump I know but a XDA search for Videos apk brought this thread up.
I recently started using UberMusic as my main Music player, so I decided to disable the default Music player by renaming it to Music.bak, I then realized that it also removed the Videos icon from my Launcher as well. As soon as I enabled the Default Music player again by renaming it to Music.apk the Videos app reappeared in my Launcher. I'm assuming the two are linked together somehow or are really just the same app. I am no dev or anything so I hope this helps some of you with your problem.
