I just got the myTouch 4G, and I was looking through the ROMs, and some of them do not have screen shots, or videos. So I decided that in my free time, I will flash roms, and do video reviews on YouTube. I literally just started about 5 minutes ago, so give me some time.

maybe you could even go beyond roms and compare radios, maybe throw a video of you flashing a radio so other people know what to do. same with kernels.
Hell ya and show some good combos of kernels and ROMS and which ones like to cozy up to one another. Killer idea.

Or use the Kernel that the developer based the ROM around. The Kernel is the very basis of the ROM. I'm sure the developers have already did this.

I definitely respect what you are saying, but I think that options are there to be explored. To me it's a lot like saying use the ROM the manufacturer developed for the phone. We are here because we like choices and we like to be self-appointed test subjects. To each his own.
subscribed to your channel, thanks for taking the time to do this!
great idea! but i just checked out your channel and you should consider using the dev's version number in the title instead to be more accurate since they often update their roms with new features
so instead of like royal ginger 2.3.3 you should put royal ginger v2.1

A lot more ROM info is needed. Seems kinda silly to be doing ROM reviews and not actually say what ROM is being reviewed. "MIUI 2.3.3" doesn't tell anyone much when there are several MIUI ROMs available for the MT4G.

It would be cool to have a standard checklist of ROM features (Max OC, T-Mobile apps or not, special features, etc etc etc) for every video. Much like how phone reviewers do it...

Sorry about the wait guys. Expect a few more reviews today. Been busy with school and work, but I got some free time, and a new camera. Uber Gingersense, and other rom reviews will be uploaded across the next few hours. I'm uploading the uber gingersense now, and I have an AOSP to upload after that, and the camera has to charge, then I will do virtuoso, and there after.
Subscribed. I highly recommend virtuous fusion v1.0.6. It eats up my ram a little more than some but I've had no lag and its just a beautiful rom.
like the idea of your channel. some suggestions to make it better:
1)better camera
2)don't include instructions on how to flash, unless it is exceptionally difficult/different
3)shorter video and to the point
4)video editing to condense video
Great idea and thanks for your contribution! This will help a lot of people out and save people some time. I think it's rude that certain people would criticize what your doing without a least saying "thanks." I think suggestions and constructive criticism are great, but why do people have to be rude when you're doing something for no compensation simply to help others out? Just kind of pi$$es me off. Gonna subscribe now...

I think that's why too. I don't think XDA wants to link to other devs. That's what that ROM looked like. However I'm flashing to it right now, and after browsing their website for a while it looks pretty safe. They seem more experienced than most devs on XDA and this ROM is available for many devices so it should be pretty stable.
Its Becquerel they include warez in the ROM which are a know issue with UD rom's. These types are prohibited in XDA. Got this info from option94 in the other thread.

Regardless of it using warez its still the fastest rom ive ever used definitely .

im all about CM7 right now, but listening to you im gonna try this Kanged out ROM.. if your lying to me your FIRED!!!! lol
you got me running a nandroid backup of my CM7 just to try this out.
Honestly after trying to ROM for about 20 mins, i can only say not bad at all.
I'm sure a lot of ppl here would really like the ROM. i say they should let him post the ROM, its no different from what Jaywan was doing. But its a better Kang job than what Jay would do.
He is giving proper credit now. or atleast i did see Cyanogens name there.
went back to CM7 myself, but its a pretty fast stable ROM. Great Bootanimation also

The new blog is up and ready to go:

THE NEW BLOG I WILL BE POSTING TO INSTEAD OF XDA!!
************READ FIRST POST FIRST!!!**********
Hello guys, Just testing out a new rom.
It is made off 4 Kornerz ROM from Diablo67. It is call 4KMods, It is running original kernal but is compatible with http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1570308 which is the underworld Sense Kernal.
Edit:The release of the 4KCM7 ROM is here only because it is going to be the "Light Weight" edition, CM7 itself is not fully functional as of this post, but will be my main priority for initializing the same Webtop experience from the Atrix/Atrix2/Razr/etc..
^^Also, the 4 Kornerz ROM base I am working will be more of the "Working Class, get it done right" ROM, meaning everything works 4G video etc..
What is working in 4KMods 4 Kornerz Base:
-Everything
What is NOT Working in 4KMods CM7 Base:
-4G
-Video
Any others please PM bugs okay?
Also, I have only modified a few things, zipalinged, Deodexed (Hopefully).
I will be adding more mods, more bacon, and more Compatibility with most kernals in later updates.
INSTALL:
**Install at your own RISK! I am not responsible if you brick or break any part of your phone.
**** YOU SHOULD ALWAYS DO A DATA WIPE/FACTORY DATA RESET BEFORE FLASHING NEW ROMS, UNLESS TOLD OTHERWISE BY DEVELOPER!!!
1. Boot Recovery
2. Select Install from SDcard
3. Select 4KModsV0_1.zip
4.Wait and then done.

4KCM7_Base_A1 **New**
The new A1 includes the Xperia Arch Launcher and a slightly different kernel modification, change CPU speed to 1.1ghz (I think If i did it right.)
GAPPS FIX <---YOU MUST DOWNLOAD TO FIX GAPP PROBLEMS WITH 4KCM7_Base & 4KCM7_Base_A1 ROM's
Can anyone test and post results? I do not have an HTC Evo to test on yet
Notes:
I have been doing research on cooking roms and I am new so as i get better I will be releasing more ROMS hopefully very fast with updates too.
Please let me know if this works.
***** NEED TESTERS AS I DO NOT OWN THE EVO 4G ANYMORE SO PLEASE PM ME OF ANY BUGS YOU FIND.
**EDITS TO INFO AND SHIZ DOWN BELOW THIS LINE OF TEXT!!**
Currently looking in to a way to include ubuntu or similar to the ROM, as well as a terminal or terminal shortcut to boot into it, or even use it and boot to in for use with "WebTop" Desktop dock or similar.
I found WebTop mods that may be able to boot up on the Evo, might just include an ubuntu build script for easy install/download?
Anythoughts??
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
News:
Just put CM7 into my Kitchen, and I will also be doing work on that, CM7 will be easier to do the built in ubuntu with as it is just pretty much a base, BUT I'll do minimal mods as far as CM7 goes.
I'll keep you guys posted!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Wow, More updates so quickly!!!
Okay so I am thinking about just switching my base over to CM7.1.0 Stable, it is smaller and I will have more room to play with..
I have already built the ROM Base on CM7 I will be updating The links above. ^
PLEASE GUYS I NEED IDEAS!!! PM OR POST IDEAS FOR THIS, I want it to be a good looking, fun experience for everyone, and if I could get someone's help as well, would be nice. PM me for details.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Okay, So I just put up the rom download.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Finished the CM7_A1 4KMods ROM for your hearts content.
ALSO you must download the GAPPS fix and flash that AFTER installing 4KCM7_Base_A1.

Yeah, I was thinking using CM7 as a base if we were to include a "WebTop" Feature which I think we should call "The VIP Korner" Since you know I based it off 4 Kornerz ROM.
The problem is IDK what to use as far as scripts, where would I get a script that will download AND install ubuntu for you, Like an all-in-one script to do it and then include a terminal app to run it?

I would love to help, but sadly I know close to nothing about development. Would there be an issue with having terminal pre-installed, and then have the script within the ROM, and have the command to activate the script in the OP?

How about 4Korners ICS! That would be tight! Have you flashed any ICS recently? The only thing not working is video recording, FFC, and 4G. Really unless you are a narcissistic a-hole how often do you really use it? If more people devved for Android 4.0 maybe these issues could be solved to...that's all I'm saying...We are 6 months into having ICS for our Evos and still dont have a fully functional complete ICS rom , its time to quit piddling with Gingerbread and move on....how many Sense 1.0 roms do we really need with a new launcher or rosies and mods...its like beating a dead horse...two guys can't be expected to do it all[Drew and Deck]
No offense Sandix, but its just more of the same...these threads are gonna die real soon...everybody that got Evos on launch day will be moving on in a couple months when they get their upgrade...just would like to see devs take on the challenge of ICS and give us the latest and greatest...no Froyo rom will ever be better than Myns or Magnus', no Gingerbread rom will ever be better than Synergy or CM7, what's next? Our biggest promise seems to be porting other phones ICS to our phones a la CM9 and Gummyworms...I would maybe focus on bringing the Evo something special and new if you are going to spend time devving for it.

For one thing brother,1.0 is the most stable right now, thats why we recreate it soo much, everything works.Yea everyone wants something new,but look at the roms you mentioned, like CM7 and Synergy, none of those are fully functional, this video dont work, that 4g is borked, theres only soo much you can do with something thats not made for our devices yet,so everyone always comes back to mr.dependable, thats 1.0.At least Sandix is doing something he likes, maybe he doesnt like ICS or Bliss,or maybe hes just learning and Sense 1.0 is the easiest to learn from,he asked me if he could use the design to work with,so i told him yes, because hes wanting to learn,i like to help people that want to help themselves.
Gingerbread would be good for me. Wish y'all luck ... oh yea why don't y'all bring liquidrush ,liquidE or liquid metal rom back to life. Using a gingerbread rom as base. ??

To everyone,
I will be moving downloads to mediafire, I'll zip up the 4kmodkornerz rom and upload there (200mb limit for free users..)
Also, if anyone would like to donate so I may purchase a premium account there (downloads are decent from mediafire) and its pretty cheap or if someone could host them on their own website or something I'd be very thankful.
bimmerman7 I can only speak for myself. I have tried a few ICS roms and while nice none are as fast as GB on my EVO and I have children and do use my camera and video recording quite a bit and it has nothing to do with being narcissistic it has to so with having videos to show the kids grandmothers and being able to talk face to face with a child who is away in school. I would like a fully working ICS but I bought the phone to use and I do. I personally appreciate both types of ROMS and their developers but at the end of the day there are things I need to do and the guys that are pumping out stable fully working ROMS have my gratitude the most.
If anyone has a good idea for something that i can test that will be useful for everybody, let's hear it!
I'll compile all (sane) suggestions into a poll, and decide by vote.
you want to test something? or make?
cuz MIUI needs wimax (miui.us seems to have got it working. new release shortly)
and I'll perform sexual favors for Skip using Volume on MIUIv4. Only thing I'm missing at this point.

Well, you've made performance and user experience benchmarks on ROM's and kernels, as well as on governor-scheduler combinations.
So how about ROM-kernel combinations? I know most ROM's come bundled with their stock kernels that have been optimized to work best with the ROM, but we also have independent kernel devs who are really good in getting the most out of stock and custom kernels.
Also, with the number of possible ROM-kernel combinations, this may be monumental work, but maybe you can focus on real independent custom kernels, like say Matr1x, Franco, Trinity and Air (yes, Air, despite allegations of plagiarism), and if you have time, then maybe you can include stockish ones like _thalamus's and Pete's.
Just my suggestion, of course. I'm a big fan of your work for the community and I look forward to results of your tests.
Thank you and more power!

Indeed. I'm not an Android developer! I just like to test things.
There might be a ROM/kernel compatibility test i can do. Any other TESTS anyone else would like done thoroughly and objectively?

On a more serious note, i can't think of anything else to test. You've already done it all. That new buffer mod may have some merit to it (i did some light reading on it but not beyond one source), though unsure how you could objectively test that unless you're sitting on some expensive equipment.

Bedalus! My hero! New trinity kernels were released with 50 and 56 Hz frame rate mods. To be honest, I'm not sure exactly how to measure this. There's too many variables!

OK guys, here goes. I've been experimenting with alotta ROMs lately, mostly ICS. In time I've realized that we never have the features that we paid for, mainly 1080p recording. If the phone doesn't oporate the way we paid for it to (And I paid full price) then is it not a waste to flash the ROM?
I love the speed and battery efficiency I get from the devs and I'm blown away by the amount that they've accomplished, but I've been recently contemplating falling back to stock simply because I'll have the awesome camera. I'd even settle for a top notch Sensation ROM. I know this sounds like a complainer thread, but I've been really losing morale with this device. It seems there will be no more hard KB devices so I might defect to a One S or wait for a One S equivalent from T-mobile. What do you guys think?
I will never give up my keyboard. You leave if you like. And these custom roms are supposed to give our phone something it would've never had otherwise. A functioning ICS rom. If you can't live without everything working, then you should stick to stock or stock tweaked. (I can't use 1080p even if it was working. Don't have a fast enough card )
Rom building and compiling takes a lot of time and effort, not to mention skill.
Essentially, these fine devs are doing the work HTC and T-Mobile were never going to do. Lazy greedy scum they are

I personally don't think that it's a waste to flash these ROMs. Mainly because IMO (aside from 1080p recording) we're really getting more than what we paid for if you think about it. All the features that are available with ICS alone would have made this device more expensive to begin with off the shelf. Then add features of CM9 that these devs are cooking into the ICS ROMs or the features of Sense/ICS ROMs combined together...I think we it's a great thing what's been accomplished.
If 1080p recordning is the main thing you really want then I'd follow the previous suggestion and flash stock or go with a modded stock ROM. There will be no defecting for me. I love physical keyboards! I use mine daily in one way or another.
Even if it comes to the point that nothing on this device is supported anymore I will have this phone lol. We have enough to be used as DDs. So all in all for me, I don't think these ROMs are a waste to flash/use.

This is why I use Bulletproof. It has everything we paid for, and is much more stable and optimized than the stock rom. I would love to have an ICS rom, but I want everything to work on my phone. This is my choice. I am happy with using a GB rom, because my phone does everything I want it to. If it isn't broke don't fix it.

Do you have one of Blues UV Kernels? I REALLY NEED THE 8%. My computer was fried, and I can't get into my HDD.
Sorry for the off topic.

Both would be nice, I can just UV to 8% using system tuner.

I'm sorta in the same boat as OP. I've flashed everything and found camera limitations with all of them, so I'm really waiting a 1080p fix with flawless camera otherwise before I go back to ICS. I really love how far everything has come this year in terms of development and it's much appreciated, but I don't plan on going back to an ICS ROM without a fully functioning camera. I have an 19 month year old son and just can't risk it!
My dream is ICS with Sense, but even just for a nice camera fix, I think I'd be okay without Sense.
Running Mik in the meantime. Bulletproof was nice except for the green tint to everything.
Hoping for a camera fix soon. Wallet will be opened then!

I am in north carolina, my dev computer is in pennsylvania. I bought yogi's doubleshot, he doesn't have one anymore.
I don't know what I have, but whatever it is it's hundreds of miles away and wholly unavailable.
If you want to host the UV kernels, they were made by yogi, but I'm sure it'll be okay - only issue is no sources, so...?
If it's kosher to link them up here, then feel free to host them and make a thread for it if you want, I have no issue with it, if it'll help someone that's what's important.
Just make sure to credit yogi, and make sure to be explicit about no support from the authors. I'm not quite in a position to do so yet with my new job, still absorbing a lot of data and training, so my brain and body are worn and exhausted after my shift ends in the morning.
I'll bring this to yogi's attention, or at least ask about it, but I don't see an issue with sharing it, provided the two requests I made above are filled.

Oh, not gonna quote the whole OP yet again in the thread on page 1... But...
Op - if you feel something is lacking, you are in the place to give you the best shot at figuring out how to make it do what you want.
As far as getting all the features you paid for, well, you paid htc or tmobile, or a little of both, or you bought it secondhand, but the money was originally collected by one or both of those entities. If you use the software they provide, then you get what you paid for.
Using an alternate software version, like what you find here, actually gives you much more then what you paid for it - for you paid nothing, and got a whole lot in return.
You can jump in and help the active devs solve problems, or wait until they do, but the argument about getting whatever value you invested real money into evaporates the moment you flash any non-stock OS.

I would but I have no computer, I got a hold of your OC kernel. Then dropped the UV my self using some chart I found here. I can't wait to see you back here. CM9 soucre, and 3.0 Kernel Soucre. Bulletproof ICS?

Not true... Virt Inq dosn't have working 1080p, or the DS camera. It's using the Sense 3.6 camera. Only Rubix, and any stock based Roms have it(1080p/DS Camera).

Heck, I've got a computer. Why can't we just upload it to a share site with permission, of course. If this is the same same Yogi from the G2 section, I remember him and he was a nice guy. I doubt he'd mind with proper credit. Let me know if I can help. I'm still settling in here and am a newb as far as the Doubleshot goes. I'd love to support this device with whatever can like I try to do with all my devices. Just looking for what needs to be done/or something helpful that's not too much beyond my expertise or time lol! I am a bit concerned and confused on the framework variations between ICS and GB but I can pick it up as I go. I've only run 2 ICS roms between two devices so I have a lot of reading to do. Well, my computer is here if y'all need it. Feel free to pm me if anyone needs it or if I can help.

To be fair, I never used this feature before I flashed CM9, and I continue to not need it. Cameras, to me, are just a bonus. I just want a faster phone with better battery life.
I'm sorry to announce that I no longer own a working P920. Funny as it may sound, my 15 month old son threw it in the toilet!!! That's actually something I wanted to do since the ghost-calls days but I never dared because of the phone's price! So, I am now happy with my HTC Evo 3D (which I was already using as my main phone) and I've lost my toy!
I didn't really expect to leave these threads this way but hey, life is unexpected! I've had a great time being a member of this community although I can't say the same about the phone itself.
Big thanks to all the great developers that gave life to this device. Big shame to LG that let it fade away like this. I don't want to thank people one by one right now, 1st because I'll get emotional and 2nd because they are so many and I'm afraid I might leave someone out!
So, see you all around in another thread. Have fun with your present and future devices and keep learning and developing. Don't forget; Everything roots!

I could test for you. I'm currently running stock rooted ICS 4.0.3 S-ON but I might consider going S-OFF and running KitKat in DualBoot.
The Evo3D enjoys a custom made 3D library which can enable the 3D panel in AOSP based ROMs but, by now, there's no way to use the 3D camera. If you can manage to make FreeDCam work on 4.0+ ROMs on the Evo3D it will be a 1st!
Feel free to PM me. I can't code but I'll help in any way I can.
its already running on each device >= 4.0. i only have to add the opensense sdk 3d parts. theoreticaly i can also add that custom lib for cm roms.
but this is work for the new year i pm you when its done.
