I am currently using am HTC Evo 4G, just got a new one and havent had a chance to root it so It is unrooted and running the stock ROM. Every time I try to bootup the Netflix App it shows a blank white screen and then pops up a message saying
"Error : Please make sure the device's date and time settings are updated to the current date."
and then the app closes and I am unable to use it
It's operating on the auto-time, and no matter what I do be it reboot, re-install Netflix, etc I still get that error.
Any Ideas as to how to fix this? When I run it on wifi it works fine, this only happens on 3G
You would probably get a lot more help if you posted this in the HTC Evo forum under Q&A.
My suggestion would be to first go into settings>applications and clear the data from the netflix app.
If it still doesn't work, try completely uninstalling it, rebooting, and then reinstalling netflix.
Netflix app is released only for some selected devices. Checkout list of compatible devices:

The last time everyone panicked over not being able to access the market, blaming their phones and looking for solutions, it turned out that the Market itself was down. Google fixed it and all was well with the world again.
I wonder how many people bricked their phones trying to 'fix' the problem at that time?
For some reason, I can not find certain apps in the Market like the Astro Key I purchased (mind you Astro app is installed), FiOS Mobile Remote, etc. Any suggestions?
Its because those apps are copy protected, and since the leaked RUU has a build unrecognized by google at this point, those protected apps are not going to show. So unless thats the offical OTA build, those apps will never show because google has to change the market to show copy protected apps for every official build of every phone. So if that software is final, they will eventually show up, if its not, they never will, unless you root your phone and change the build string

Wow interesting I have the leaked ruu and can still see these apps in the market. Op just send an email over to Google and they will help you out don't listen to this guy. For about 6 hours yesterday I couldn't download anything (got a download unsuccessful error) emailed the market team and got a response back helping me out.

I see all the purchased apps as well including the astro pro key and it shows installed..
It's the strangest thing really. Everything else I can download except for those two apps. I will contact Google for help. Thank you everyone.
P.S. I never had this issue when I installed a leaked RUU on my Incredible except from going to Froyo from Eclair.
Agreed. Astro Key is definitely there and I running the leaked RUU.
+1 - Astro Key and FIOS Mobile Remote with leaked radio...
I'll tell you I'm fed up with EA mobile... I purchased two of their apps when I was on T-mobile... And if I'm using any device that's not on Verizon (ie T-mobile, at&t, or Sprint) the apps will show. But on any device on the Verizon network (I've tried the dinc and the TB) it wants you to buy them again. Sadly enough this is a known issue with EA mobile and they actually charge more for the same app on Verizon vs other providers. I wish there was a way to fix the issue myself as their support team has been playing dumb regarding this...

Check out the app called Market Enabler on the market. you can fake your carrier to T-Mobile for the android market.
I used to have a rooted phone, but then the official T-Mobile update to Android 4.0 came out and I decided to unroot my phone, and upgrade. It worked. But for some reason, when I try to download Instagram, it does not show up in my search results. I go to the app in "My apps" to get to the main page, and it says my device is not compatible with the app.
What happened down the line that screwed me over with Instagram on my phone?
Hi, I'm thinking of rooting my Vodafone HTC Sensation 4G ICS and putting CyanogenMod on it. Will I still be able to access the Play Store and download apps without restrictions? Will I still be able to update my device if Vodafone push out any updates? Will Google stop my device from doing anything?
Thanks a lot.

Ive never had an issue browsing and purchasing apps after rooting a phone. Ive done this with a samsung captivate, htc inspire 4g, and now my SGS2. The one and only complication ive run into was with google play movies. If ur rooted it wont work. The app allows u to purchase, however prior to playback a notification pops up that says "your phone appears to be rooted, click here to request a refund".

Access play store - yes, for apps. Purchases can be a bit more tricky, your mileage may vary.
Vodaphone updates will almost certainly not work. To get the updates, you'll have to flash back to the stock rom, get updates, and then flash back to a new rom. If these are updates to the vodaphone OS, then they are irrelevant, however updates to things like the PRL (for CDMA based phones) are useful and is something you would want to update and can only be done via the stock OS.
Google could mostly care less about what you do with your phone. Nearly everything will work, however they have contracts in place with content providers that will check to see if the software has been modified and may prevent DRM protected content from playing on the device.
speak to the ROM developer. I dont know much about the actual dev of Rom's, but I know the custom Roms i've flashed mostly had something hacked in them to allow for updates to come through.
I naver had a problem with Google Play after rooting. On RunnyROM-s and also CyanogenMod it works fine. One issue what occurs sometimes is that apps download and install really slowly.
