At my friend's house I stream SC2 matches to his tv with my G2X and an HDMI cable. Is there a way to set my phone up so I can stream video through HDMI while the screen on the phone is turned off? As it stands now Once I turn off the screen the video cuts out.
Same. Thats how it was on stock and CM7. Kinda sucks. Double drainage.
For me I like to play Emulators using a Bluetooth Gamepad. I don't need the screen on when I'm able play like that.

I use the HDMI output on the xoom for playing snes games om the tv. When i connect the Xoom to my 40" sony full hd tv, the desktop gets chopped off on all sides. Why is this?
I can understand that it chopps away the bottom status bar, but i loose some of the sides as well. Is there anyway to adjust the output?
I haven't found a way to reduce the overscan. I've adjusted it a tad on my TV, but nothing had fully removed the overscan. I think it intentionally runs that way.

It´s very annoying.
If you have overscan problems, it's your TV, not the Xoom. See if you have a "just scan" option on your TV set, my Samsung does and it produces a 1:1 picture.
I'm using Samsung's microUSB to HDMI adapter with my Sensation and it works fine but seems like there's no any configuration of hdmi output nowhere. Is there any app to do this or some config files?
There's just one small problem. I have black frame appx. 2cm on 42" TV. It seems like it's made for overscan because when i enable oversan in my tv the image fits perfectly but, obviously, i get cropped resolution then. But, i've noticed one interesting thing: the stock apps like camera output really fullscreen image on the TV without any frame and without any UI elements on TV screen so all the controls go to phone's display and not on the TV. So if there's no way to configure HDMI in sensation yet i have another question: Is there any video player which plays all formats(like MoboPlayer, etc.) which can also handle TV output like stock apps making it really fullscreen without any frame and not just cloning the phone's display to tv?

I see the screen home page and etc, but no sound. Also it doesn't work when I play a video, both the phone and tv freezes the video. What can I do? I have the samsung brand adapter.

When i use YT build App the video is only on Plasma TV but other video apps like Mobo Player are on the tbalet screen and TV screen.. Any optiona solution for these?

Depending on the app, certain video players will turn off the screen automatically when playing thought HDMI similar to dimming the status bar. I believe MOBO does this but Netflix does not.
Does anyone know of a way to keep the sound playing on the phone while "casting the screen" I'm not talking about youtube/netflix.. in app casting. I'm talking about mirroring the phone. I'd love to use the headsetplugged in to my phone for sound instead because i'm casting it through a monitor and this this monitor doesn't have ANYTHING related to audio (no hdmi, no headphone jack, no speakers.... none, nothing). Thanks!
