[Q] integrated facebook contacts - Samsung Infuse 4G

it seems my integrated facebook account will sync the calendar but not the contacts. anyone else with this problem?
i have a feeling it is on the facebook side because i'm coming from a captivate. when i look on my facebook page under Apps, it shows Samsung Mobile, but it says "6 months ago". I think facebook is confused between my old Samsung Mobile and my new one.

i think i figured it out. google supposedly changed the way you have to access android contacts forcing facebook to update their app. and consequently, the facebook app syncs just fine......but contacts only, there is no option to sync calendar.
the "integrated contact account" (that syncs facebook contacts and calendar even without the facebook app installed) fails on contact sync. the problem is this "integrated account" has not been updated (obviously because it was bundled with android 2.2). the "integrated account" synced just fine on my last phone that had android 2.3

Facebook - sync ONLY google contacts?

This one is weird...
I have Facebook for Sense setup in the Accounts & Sync settings so that I could get the contacts to sync with the corresponding facebook profiles.
That worked perfectly. All is well there.
The weird thing is that when I go into phone, where it lists all of the contacts above the keypad, ALL of my facebook "friends" are listed even if I don't actually have them entered in my contacts.
So, contacts = just my contacts linked with facebook, but phone-app list = all of my contacts + all of my facebook "friends".
Is there a way to make this NOT happen? I only want my actual contacts (from google) to sync with facebook. I don't want all of my facebook "friends" to load to the phone.
I agree, this facebook sync is a good idea but needs more options.
froyo has more settings for things like this, you can select "don't sync", "sync only with contacts i have on my phone" or "sync all facebook friends", something to those effects anyways.
so wait for the OS to come, or root and flash a rom.

LinkedIn and Twitter account stuck on "Setting up account"

Some of my LinkedIN and Twitter contacts were not showing up with my account, so I deleted them and tried to re-add them. I did this yesterday, and those accounts are still labeled as "Setting up your account"; I highly doubt it takes a day or more for it to integrate and set up my contacts.
Has anyone run into this problem? I am running the UK Tango ROM on my T-Mobile Lumia 710, so is that why I'm having problems? I've tried restoring to stock, and it is still doing the same thing when I add LinkedIN and Twitter accounts. The contacts never show, but when I scroll over to what's new it shows new feeds from the contacts...

Facebook Birthdays not showing in google calendar anymore

I exported facebook birthdays to Google Calendar a while back. Since I dropped HTC Sense (which has its own facebook sync built in) I've been using this method to sync facebook contacts' birthdays to my android device(s) and never had problems. But suddenly, I don't know since when exactly, "Friends' Birthdays" are no longer shown in Google Calendar. So I can't see them nor in the desktop version of Google Calendar nor on my mobile devices. Well, I can see one: my own birthday This means they are shown, but the sync doesn't work for all contacts.
Is Facebook's timeline interfering? Anyone else with this problem?

[Q] Facebook Photo Sync in JB 4.3

Since upgrading to 4.3 JB, facebook photos are not syncing.
I had CM 10.1.2 with JB 4.2.2 and contacts+ app before. When I add a person's phone number or email to contacts (people) app, contacts+ app would pull the person's facebook or linkedin photo (even though the person is not in my facebook friend's list).
No matter what app I try in 4.3 JSS, only my facebook friend's contact photo is syncing - not all contacts. Anyone has success syncing photos of contacts even if they are not your facebook friends? Is it Android OS thing or facebook thing?
Tried Ubersync, Haxsync, Contacts+, and SyncME (tried different settings, sync over data or wifi, sync existing contacts, all contacts etc.)
Waited for almost a week to sync - was in wifi most of the time
Tried: without facebook app and with facebook app logged in
Tried: autosync checked and also autosync not checked
Tried: PA 3.98 JWR, Carbon Nightly JSS
Note:All the apps listed above asked for facebook permission when i first opened after install and I gave permission by logging in to my facebook account.
Without a facebook or linkedin account, you will not be able to pull the photos.
Ubersync, Haxsync and now contacts+ syncs hi-resolution pictures. But in 4.3 ROMS, only syncs with facebook friends.
Anyone had sucess with facebook contact photos sync for all emails in contacts?

[Q] Why New Contacts App Has Syncing Issues?

Some of my newer contacts are not synching with either my Google Contacts or my Outlook.com contacts. I'm on a Nexus 5 running Android 5.1.
I use Outlok.com for my primary repository for contacts and calendars, however I use GSyncit add-on for MS Outlook (desktop) to sync my desktop Outlook contacts and calendars to Google. This way I can use Outlook.com or Google Calendar / GMail to access/share my calendar and access contacts depending on the situation.
Everything is working fine on the desktop end so that is irrelevant to this problem (so probably shouldn't even have wrote the above paragraph - but just in case.)
I see there is a new Google Contacts app on the phone and on the web. I noticed this when I clicked on the People app and it said the app was missing. When I go to the web version of Google Contacts via my Google account, there are no contacts there! All my contacts are still in Gmail though of course.
I see that when I attempt to edit an older contact on the phone, it first prompts me with which Google account I want to sync with. I don't need to sync my phone contacts directly with Google, I just want to sync with Outlook.com -> Outlook -> Google (via GSyncit) but I suppose it wouldn't cause a problem if I just had the phone sync to both accounts (probably will then need to disable GSyncit contact sync between Outlook desktop and Google).
What is weird is that it is like Google made the mistake of launching this new contacts app, but there's no notice or migration instructions on the changes with the new app. I just happend to discover something was "unhooked" by trying to edit a contact! I just discovered the new Contacts app on the web by Googling, Google Contacts. I'm technically saavy and somewhat of an Android Wonk, and am surprised this is all a surprise!
Do I have to go try to edit every single contact on the mobile Contacts app now to select which Google account it syncs with? I HOPE NOT!
At the risk of appearing dumb I'm leaving my original post for background. It appears this is (not surprisingly) all a Microsoft issue. When I went into the Outlook.com app on my phone, when you click on the Contacts and Calendars Sync setting, nothing happens! Come to find out this app is no longer on the play store. It appears to have been replaced earlier this year by the Microsoft Outlook Preview. Installed that app, and it doesn't and an account type to the phone! So it appears, unlike the Outlook.com app, it won't sync calendars and contacts with the native Android calendar and contacts app. It's as if Microsoft is trying to make you use their new app instead of the stock Android apps that just sync with the Outlook.com account? Please say this isn't so!

Title: How To Sync Contacts & Calendars with Native Android Phone Apps?
Reply
Hi,
Unfortunately , by design, it is not yet possible to sync your Android phone contacts to your Outlook.com account.
Note: At the moment, you can only sync Outlook.com contacts to your android phone.
Please provide your suggestions/opinion as a feedback to the development team. To do this, click on the gear icon on the top right corner of Outlook.com homepage and select 'feedback' from the dropdown menu.
Hope this information is helpful.

However, this isn't that big of a deal as I come to find out, even though there is no longer an Outlook.com account type on the phone any more, you can use the Exchange account type and use server address: s.outlook.com and then you can sync everything. Why the MS Tech didn't point this out it baffling.
(big middle finger for you Microsoft)
