Android Market & Amazon App Store - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

I was wondering is there any way to link the apps that I purchase in either the AM or AAS to each other. The apps that I purchase or download in one doesn't show in the other & I've also noticed that apps purchased in the AAS take longer to receive updates. Sometimes up to a week.

Yeah, I was wondering the same thing? Anyone know how to associate apps from Amazon with the Android Market?

You can't.

I was wondering if anyone have the latest Talking Tom App since the Android Market keeps giving me the "download unsuccesful" message. I need an apk file.

I live in the UK. It won't let me download through the amazon market.

[RECOMMENDATION] watch dog full version

Amazons free app for today is watch dog full version. For those of you who like to keep an eye out for rouge apps. I highly recommend you download it.

Hands down, a Must have app. Get it!
Great catch, Mud! I've been using the Lite version for awhile and I've been forgetting to check out the Amazon free app of the day, so thanks for the heads up. Getting it now....

Of course I alread paid for it
<3 Amazon freebie paid apps!!
So far I've netted Plants vs. Zombies, Gaia GPS, Pac-man, Mahjong pro, and now watchdog!
Haha. Good call. I had a feeling a thread would show for this.
When I opened amazon and saw watchdog, I swear, the 'get app' button practically pushed itself.
It's days like this that make checking the daily free app of the day on amazon pay off.
Get it, people.
I look at amazon apps every day and I get the free ones even if I don't need them. Todays was a great find though

A little off topic but search appstore reminder in the forums and you'll find an app that will pop up a notification at a chosen time of what the free app is

It will have you add a payment option to your account, but the free apps are never charged to the card.
Once you've added the payment option, it won't ever ask for it again, unless you purchase a paid app.
It's Amazon's way of covering their rearends.

Yes. This is what discourages me from using Amazon App Store. So I turn on 1 click, do the purchase, and turn it back off right away. Amazon does not refund. So very high chance of accidental purchases that would not be refunded.
When I first installed the Amazon app store, I download an always free app. I didn't like it, so I uninstalled it. Now it is always in my apps list with the option to install it. Does anyone know how I can remove it? I tried searching for an answer but can't find one.

I trust you guys and want to download it, but I really don't want to install it until I understand what it is and how to use it. I haven't figured out how to download apps without installing them yet.

Amazon works differently, while market installs apps when you click Ok, amazon downloads the app and then asks for install... You can just cancel it.
Or if you are scared then install and remove immediately after that using easy uninstaller app.

If I download the app and hit cancel, would I need to navigate to it with a file explorer like Astro and click to install it? Or, will canceling cause the app not to be saved? How is Easy Uninstaller different from the stock uninstaller, other than how you can uninstall more than one app at a time?

There really is no reason to post a comment like this, because what it says is... you don't trust us.
Fine, I'm not hurt. Really, I'm not.
You don't have to trust anyone here. But you sure seem to when receiving other advice in the numerous threads you've posted asking for our help. Now you're not so sure... Lol
Just go read about it on the market. Check how many times watchdog lite has been downloaded, and read the reviews people have posted on its market page.
And then make your own informed decision.

Market Issues After Deleting Amazon

I am finally free of the evil Amazon App Store and I also deleted all the free apps of the day I downloaded. I want a few of them again from the Android Market but after an uninstall and even a clear data from the Market the Market says I already purchased those apps and it won't let me download them! Does anyone know of a way to fix this issue?
Steps I have taken:
- Clear data and cache of market app (numerous times)
- Wiped entire phone
- Reloaded ROM
- Did NOT let the setup restore anything
- Reloaded my apps with TiBu
For some reason the market on my phone and online says I have some of the Amazon apps I still want and won't let me download them. It just says purchased and won't let me download them because I didn't buy them from the Market. Any help would be awesome!
why is amazon evil? Because they give you free apps everyday? Or let everyone in your family have an app with only one purchase?
What a way to answer his question and the help the community bro...

umm, he bashed amazon, I asked why. I have no idea why market says apps are installed that really aren't. My solution, you should have all your apps backed up with either app monster pro or titanium backup. App monster pro lets you restore apps directly from the market.
If not, a hard reset might be the easest answer.
At least my post was on topic.

They may or may not be evil, but they do write some sh**** code for their amazon store application as well as how they implement their DRM. I can tell you however, that they are pretty evil to those that choose to develop on their appstore though.
http://bithack.se/news/apparatus-amazon-july-4-2011.html
I'm guessing the market somehow still thinks you purchased the apps because of the amazon store writing half*** code and there's not much that can be done really
Mustang302LX, I just tried to duplicate the issue and wasn't able to. "Seal" is a paid application I downloaded from Amazon. When I uninstall it and then go to the Android Market there's no trace of it from the Amazon store. The google market should only recognize apps purchased via its checkout.
I would try another full system wipe including the Android and data folders on your sdcard. Basically try to get it as close to out of box as possible without going back to the stock rom

Ughh. I've heard this about the Amazon market, that and it being a Monster battery hog.
By contacting google market directly they may be able to clear those transactions from your profile.

I'm not a dev so I really don't care if an indie dev has a problem with amazon. I like to purchase apps on there because I have 4 phones with 4 different gmail accounts, that I would have to purchase 4 copies of the same app for my family. This would get expensive quick. Amazon allows you to install an app across all of your devices. This is why I always look there first when buying an app.
I wish the review process was faster, but I appreciate the fact that they review the apps. The market is full of crap apps and apps that have been copied from other devs. I know its the other extreme, but coming from windows phone, I prefer that to any app making it and it being up to me to make sure its not malware.
What's weird about the OP's problem is that when I install an app from amazon and from market (on accident I've done this a couple of times), it recognizes either way that it was from the other site and asks me if I want to uninstall the one version and install it from the market.
If this is happening after a data wipe, there are bigger issues here.
edit: same reason I use amazon music vs google music. I would have to upload my music to all the gmail accounts instead of one amazon account.
Now who's off topic, we're glad YOU prefer Amazon and it fits for YOUR family but...that's not what this thread is about. And please don't write back with some looooong semi personal response, it's not that serious.

If I wanted opinions on Amazon I would of asked for them. For those with input to my issue thanks.
Lrs I checked data and android on SD card didn't see traces of the apps I want that claim to be purchased.

Such an obvious solution, but I didn't about the crap they stick on the sdcard being the issue. Oh well, glad you figured it out.

I looked there but it must go away with an uninstall. Might backup SD card and format and just put music and pics back along with a full wipe this weekend.

Update: I removed my SD card and turned phone on and cleaed market cache and data and no good. So I came up with a backup plan. Since the Market allows for multiple sign ons I created a 2nd account and using that I am able to sign into the Market easily and download all the apps it claims I have purchased on my primary account. It's not the absolute best work around but it does work so that's a good thing for now.

No, no and no. This is one thing that Google keep on being told by us (the users) they need to sort out urgently. It makes it almost unmanageable on the Play Store.
How can I see which paid apps have I bought? I bought a game a while ago and can't remember the name now, so is there any list of my paid apps on Playstore?

In Play Store you can see a list of all programs you have a some time installed, on that list you kan see if the app is free or paid. But i might take a little time to go thruogh the list

Is there an app freeze?

Since the new version of the app store earlier this week I haven't seen a single new app available. anybody know if there's a freeze on while Samsung check the new store works properly? There was a steady stream of new apps before.

As a developer I have noticed that previous versions of my apps were compatible with much more devices(89) then the latest one does (57)
Maybe new releases of apps are at first available for a limited number of devices and and Samsung is certifying them in the background for more devices.
with devices I mean phone/gear combinations.
Please check now as loads of apps have joined.. well as the saying goes .. lull before a storm of apps
Haha, no sooner did I say anything...
There's a couple of task list apps too , just what I wanted
