On my ride home today I discovered something unique that is only available to thunderbolt users. I was running GPS and pandora which made my phone a little hot. I took out my kickstand and put it in my air conditioning vent. This provided air cooling to the phone and a great hands free dock. Try it out, hope you guys had as much luck as i did.
That's pretty funny others in here have done it as well.

that's an awesome idea. I have jeep wrangler so I usually put the kick stand on and put it on top.
How does it stay in there wouldn't it be to heavy and fall out?

There is another thread showing this. The bottom of the phone rests against the dash so some of the weight is supported there.
That will work great until winter when the air coming out of the vent is warm...

It was 24.99 and it suctions to anything (windshield, dash, cup holder)

Buy those velcro strips at the bottom and apply them to the parts (only for the soft part if you're scared of scratching (nothing happens))
What's the velcro for?

For me, the biggest issue about this kind of dock is lots of instability and vibrations due their long arm. How is yours?

Let me describe it to you. the arm itself is very stiff. so when i go over bumps or road imperfections you barely notice anything.

Just pointing out some safety issues. If the suction cup comes loose the phone/holder will be on the floor near your pedals...may even hit you on the head on the way down. (and what if that window is open?)

In Virginia Beach, you would get a ticket for obstruction in the line of sight or something like that. I would advise you to move it to the center.

My flight leaving Baltimore got delayed thus causing me to miss my connection in Minneapolis. So I had to catch the next flight out to the west coast which required an 8 hour layover.
Don't get me wrong I am pretty bored here, no doubt about that. However my Tbolt is at least affording me the ability to use my laptop with broadband speed. I am taking a break from my second Netflix movie. I already banged out a pretty good chest and ab workout on the terminal floor(yeah, I am that guy) There are worse ways to spend a long ass layover. Any suggestions for a next Netflix movie? 4 more hours, joy.

I was looking for stylus for my phone and following a link I found this.
WOW!!! I SEE IT ALL!!! Capacitive Touch-Screen Glove.
Wow that is a crazy accessorie.
would you buy that???
I bet you can find a glove to work with the screen if look hard enough.
Would you use this???
You look a little crazy using this at your local mall or when your out in a public place.
Capacitive Touch-Screen GloveCapacitive Touch-Screen Glove lets you tap, scroll, flip, type and draw effortlessly on a touch-screen all while keep your hands warm and cozy. We all know using a touch-screen is almost impossible if you're wearing gloves, but the Touch-Screen Glove puts an end to that. And unlike a stylus, you don't need to carry or hold anything.
The glove index finger and thumb (one hand only) enable touch-screen usage so you can tap, scroll and type with ease. All touch-screen functions are enabled included tap, scroll, flip, flick, double-tap, typing, drawing and multi-touch pinching and zooming.

Ok First of all guys i wasn't really sure where to put this but i'm having issues with my pc. Here are my specs:
AMD Phenom x4 9750
8 GB Dual Channel DDR2 RAM
Gateway RS780 (AM2)
ATI Radeon HD 4600 Series
And here is my problem when ever im doing some sort of really strenuous activity like transcoding it transcodes for a bit then shuts down this has just started happening. Before i thought it was the installation so i did a clean install and its still happening havent tried it in linux though because im running the 12.04 alpha and handbrake doesnt support it yet. Myself i'm guessing it is overheating but i don't know why or for sure since i don't know were a log file would be. But my pc has been running basically 24/7 with a few exceptions for 2 and 1/4 years and i have three internal hdd so i don't know whats going on so if anybody could help shed some light on to fixing this or if my pc is done than it would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance
P.S. mods if you think this is the wrong place then please move
Is it going through the "standard" windows shutdown process, or is it more like a system "crash" that is powering off?

Edit: I just had an idea maybe there is too much draw off that one outlet because there is an external hdd, switch, ps3, computer, stb, hd tv, gamecube, and a few other things. Now that I'm reading this that is alot of things plugged in to that. But then again its on a battery backup so the back up should kick on right?

Download Realtemp and Prime95, monitor your CPU temps while you stress test your PC. Once you've ruled out that as an issue try running memtest against your RAM to rule that out.

This man knows what he's talking about
It sounds like over-current draw (PSU too small) or overtemp on the CPU. Rule out the CPU and memory using Dirk's suggested tools.
EDIT: I just read your second post, you need to split up all those things hanging off a single socket. I'd be scared of blowing my house fuses with that load!
You may also want to do a "barebones" test of your UPS to see if it is still functioning properly.
Ok I appreciate all you guys help im running a memtest from grub right now ill keep you guys posted

You're welcome buddy.
Clean out your entire computer. Grab a vacuum and suck the dust out of your heatsink, video card, off your motherboard, out of your case fans and vents, everywhere. Strip it down as much as you possibly can. If your NB temp is as high as your CPU, that tells me the TIM under your NB heatsink is shot, too.
TIM: Actic Silver 5 is good stuff. If you're in a hurry and on a budget, Arctic Ceramique performs well also. If money is no object and you don't mind following detailed instructions (including burn-ins), try IC Diamond.
Fans: Depends on the size you need. Scythe make great fans, especially their Gentle Typhoons if you can find them. My case uses 200mm fans and I have BitFenix Spectre Pro's, which are pretty good so far. Go for high CFM and low noise, unless you're buying new fans for your CPU heatsink, in which case a high static pressure is important (not particularly important for case fans).
Heatsink: Anything Noctua if you've got some spare change laying around. They are fantastic performers but need a lot of room. CoolerMaster Hyper 212+, Prolimatec, Thermalright, or any of Corsairs/Antecs SC watercoolers work well.
Good luck man, I hope there's been no lasting damage done at all!

If it's on a surface that can scratch the yes, it uses the vibrator to rub the phone slowly lol.
I must be missing something here.......so the vibrating motor causes the phone to spin?......blurry photo anyone?!
That's the innovation apple is talking about. I love it! Can't wait to see apple users put the phones like this and show us 2 magic tricks at once. Spinning around and scratch the bottom of the phone. Reminds me of the song by Kylie Minogue. Don't remember the lyric, I guess it was something like "I keep spinning around and scratching myself!?!". Idk but it's very nice trick. Next iphone will jump while spinning.
