I've had my phone for almost 2 weeks now.
First Android and touchscreen phone ever owned.
I have a few questions:
1) How do I clear only certain calls from my call history? I only see the option to clear all call history. On my old phone (Nokia N82) I was able to erase only certain calls made (for example, the last number dialed).
2) How do I lock my screen? Right now it autolocks on its own after a certain period of time. I want to lock it own my own like I could do on all my old phones.
3) What is the best FREE forum posting app out there?
Also, I tried to root my phone last weekend, but something went wrong and for a second I thought I had bricked my phone.
Thankfully, everything is okay but I do not plan to try it again for obvious reasons.

Can you also recommend a good FREE forum posting app?
I know there's Tapatalk, but it's not free.
1)when you go in to your call history just long press the number you want to delete and choose delete form call history
2) One suggestion is go to settings>security and change the lock time to immediate
Hope this helps
Rooting can be a scary thing but i just recommend reading up as much as you can, until you feel comfortable again. then try the Ace hack Kit. it what what i used and it was super simple.

Has anyone noticed that the stock G2x comes with some LogMeIn packages(com.logmein.rescue and com.logmein.rescuesecurity) already installed? Anyone know what they are there for? I've yet to see anywhere that I could make use of them, which makes me wonder if they're there for LG or other companies to gain access for whatever reason.

Okay, so T-Mobile is including Logmein Rescue so they can access your machine for support. Personally, I backed it up and deleted it with Titanium Backup. No need for that crap. Everything is working fine.
The two apps are:
com.logmein.rescue 6.3.246
com.logmein.rescuesecurity 6.3.246
Thanks, I just froze them using titanium backup.

I removed them the first day I got the phone. Just use Root Explorer to delete them. I didn't like the sound of it either.
There is a thread about which apps you can delete, like the Tmobile crap, EA Store, games, etc. I posted what the app name was compared to the store and what I deleted without any recourse.
I removed a dozen probably.

I'd look into "Prey" if I was you. It's free, and works across a bunch of devices. I have it on my Inspire, my MacBook Pro, and my iPod Touch. If your device has a front facing camera, like the iSight on my laptop, you can take pictures, and also screenshots of whatever the person who jacked it is doing. It also will tell you what WiFi network they are using, and where they are. And it's free!

Hi All,
First, I wanna say that you guys are so freakin awesome! I've been an xda lurker for a while, but figured it's time for me to join and interact with my fellow HTC Sensation-ers.
It'd be a good chance for me to contribute to these forums, as well as getting some help for my Sensation problems. Glad to be a part of you guys now
Question: Why doesn't Facebook for Android push notifications work on my Sensation 4G?
Background Info: Private Messages in Facebook get pushed, but regular notifications (e.g. wall posts, comments, likes) do not get pushed to my device.
Went into facebook settings, and everything it's at its default values (never touched a thing). Notifications are on.
Other information pertaining to situation: Background data is ON. Always-On mobile data has been tried on and off. Same results both ways.
Can you help a brotha out?
Thanks, guys! I look forward to being a part of your community.
I read that if you sign in on a blackberry it fixes that for android due to a permission that Facebook for bb gives. I don't know if its true but worth a try I guess

Hi fr0zenblood75,
Thanks for the response.
I also have read that before. I actually went far enough to borrow my friends Bold 9780 without him knowing
Alas, it did not work
Does every Sensation user have this issue? Or am I in the minority with this?
Also, I've restarted my phone, factory reset, uninstall and reinstall app....nothing works.
Facebook kinda sucks. You try another app like friendcaster?

It sucks that the Facebook app is garbage
I guess the developer has no incentive to get the app working properly for everybody, seeing that it's not ad-supported.
I can not find the app I want. Is there a way to lock out everything except contacts and phone calls? Or a way one of the ROMS can be made to do this. I only use cell phones, no landline. I do not want kids playing/texting when not allowed.
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium
I don't think that's possible. I could be wrong though.
There is. Just get them a dumb phone. But there is nothing that will work 100% as a simple reset will remove anything you do. No apps have been made to make a smartphone not use anything. Well I guess you could get an app locker and then set up a password for each and every single app on the phone and that would make it so a password had to be entered every time the app was used. Other then that yeah get them a normal phone and call it good. To be honest that's what I did. Kids have no need for a smartphone and are not mature enough to only use it when they are supposed to. The temptation is to great to show it off to freinds and what not.
That's what I thought. I was just trying to utilize what I have.

Well you could kill the data by messing up the apns or get an app that will kill the apns at the right times. But nothing that will stop the apps from loading. I know how you feel though. Gave my boys my old tilt2 and fuse and after a few calls from school decided it had to go lol
Is it possible for me to turn a cheap android phone into either a wifi drive or a wireless hotspot, i know its possible through the usual setting in android (turning it into a hotspot) im not a noob, but i was wondering if anyone is particularly good at writing operating systems and if they could guide me into writing one that is just a wifi hotspot without any of the phone capabilities (i.e. texting and calling), and if the same is possible for turning it into a wifi drive
I personally would use a non resource hungary ROM like AOSP for example. It'll be rooted so remove the call and messaging apps from the system directory.

this sounds like a good idea, although i would still like to be able to find a way of making an application into the only thing accessible on the operating system, but i will use it for the time being

i think its looking like the best option, I'm going to look into writing some code that makes the chosen app run constantly and then once ive deleted all the apps, just turn that into a ROM, looks like I'm going to have to learn some more javascript...

You are over engineering this.
You can make a specific app stay on by making it a never kill priority. You can also set it up to auto start on boot so its always on' even if you get a random reboot.
Making a new ROM with just 1 app is completely unnecessary. Just remove everything through titanium that isn't absolutely required to make the device boot and stay active.
