Can anyone post the G2x's default build.prop? I need to manually fix mine to the original due to losing my backup. Thanks.

I flashed a Xeno theme and find that I'm not liking it too much.
I want to revert back to the default theme with the default icons and such but I'm unsure how.
I'm currently using the Nexus MV 11.01 rom.
I don't want to reflash the rom and risk losing my settings.
Could I just create a zip file with specific files from the rom and flash?
If so, what do I need?
Or is it safe to reflash the same rom without losing my settings?
Edit - Looks like I answered my own question.
Reflashing the same rom reverted my changes and no data was lost.
Hey guys,
I'm runnign AOSPX BR1 and I'm trying to find a way to backup the tether settings in the settings menu so that I don't have to re-type my SSID and passphrase every time I re-flash. I didn't have much luck finding it via TiBu.
Anyone have any suggestions?
The one thing that comes to mind is finding this file in the system and backing that up manually, then re-flashing it as a zip after I flash a new rom. Is this plausible?
EDIT: I looked through the rom ZIP and found some tethering related stuff in the settings.apk file (and nowhere else). Going to try backing up settings.apk but not quite sure if it stores the actual tethering settings here. WIll report back soon with results when I re-flash

These are system Settings. While TIBU can do this it is not advised to restore any system settings as the way they are handled are changed often and will cause issues when restored. This is one of the prices one pays for flashing custom roms.

Yeah, that was one of my concerns with backing it up. Thanks zelendel!

What is the default PPI for the Flex2? I changed mine early on to its native 401, but, now wanting to go back (because of update) I dont remember what the original was.
thanks.
A bump here on this, can someone who hasn't changed their DPI install texdroider_dpi from the playstore and tell me what their current DPI is? I overwrote my backup when looking for it.
thanks!
480
If you change the DPI using adb (the method to change it for non-rooted phones), will I still be able to get OTA updates? I thought editing the system partition at all will result in OTA failing (source:https://www.androidpit.com/android-5-0-lollipop-ota-update-fail)
Hi guys,
i want to get access to the 'hidden' multiwindow feature from marshmallow.
I'm on the stock 4.4 version with unlocked bootloader and stock recovery and dont really want to change anything because i've allways had performance issues once i rooted my device.
So i googled a bit and found this article to edit the build.prop file without root.
It works fine (using twrp3020, pulling/pushing build.prop and editing ro.build.type=userdebug) but once i reboot the build.prop is back to default with "ro.build.type=user".
I feel like i just have to root my shield tablet to get the multiwindow feature but maybe somebody knows why the build.prop reverts back to its original after rebooting...?
Greets & happy new yeah
EDIT: Never mind, forgot to mount system -.-
I've edited build.prop dozens of times without issue, but I've just updated/re-rooted and now, every time I reboot, the file reverts back to the original. What's going on here? I've seen a few posts on this but never for Samsung devices and no solution. Is it a new security feature?
I don't have TWRP (can't get it to install) and on stock ROM.

Tried deleting the backup of the original, build.prop.bak ?

I didn't make one as I was making a very minor change I know won't brick. But I still double checked just in case and there is no copy, .bak or otherwise, than the file itself so I don't even know where it's coming from!
My changes will be there and saved as long as I don't reboot...?
