Best way to integrate flickr in gallery (like picasa)?
I have been looking for this for the past year on my evo using cm7. I really wish Flickr would come out and make their own app. This shows how much yahoo is not invested in improving the existing Flickr experience. Most people are satisfied with using low res Facebook, and Flickr has become stagnant from an investors perspective.
Anyway, there are a number of different apps out there that you can view Flickr photos with. There's "just pictures", which acts as a replacement gallery, and you can view Flickr, Facebook, and others. Flicka was the most promising app with a lot of features. It hasnt been updated in a long time, but according to the website it is going through a rewrite, and hopefully will get a lot better.

Just downloaded the Facebook Album hotfix where you get an extra Facebook tab within Albums to look into your FB friends album as if they where on your phone. Works nice and neat....!!!
Is this possible for Picasa..?? So you would get an extra Picasa tab (just like the FB one) so you can look into your own and your friends album..!! That'll be cool cause I can show everyone in an easy way my Picasa pictures..
Thanks in advance..!!

Highly unlikely seeing as how the Facebook Plugin is directly tied to the Facebook Engine package and Social Networks Engine. Neither of which are designed to support Picasa.
Today I was playing with Picasa albums on the Android gallery and was curious if there are Facebook APIs that would allow the gallery to display facebook albums similar to how they display Picasa albums. (run on sentence?)
I recall reading in the past that facebook opened up APIs for displaying photo albums outside of FB, but I was not sure if anyone has thought of adding this functionaliy.
If it is not possible to add to Gallery, is there another photo program besides the built in FB app that will pull FB photos?
The new MyTouch Slide does this.
I'm not a dev or anything, so I couldn't tell you how it's done though.

It's there already in Sense. Get an Android made by HTC all you'll be able to do it. It's cool!
I'm considering (if I can find a little time) to extend the gallery app to allow it to be extended to support additional sources of networked albums. Gallery uses android data sources to get the images to and has a class which concatenates two data sources, one for local files, the other for picasa. Extending this to concatenate any number of providers and querying the android system for them would allow this to be extensible.
My goal is to add support for gallery3 (gallery.menalto.com), but facebook, flikr or any other photo service with a suitable API could be added.

Great! I'll PM you if I ever get around to working on it and have something usable for you to test.
I did look into it a little bit more and it looks like things are not abstracted quite as well as I had originally thought, which means its a lot more work.
There was an app for the G1 (at least that was how it was labelled, worked fine on my Magic) that worked on Gallery2. Since Gallery3 is a re-write, I doubt it works anymore. I think I found it in the Market.

Thank you for pointing this out!! I had no idea! I freaking love this phone! If it could give bj's and make sandwiches I think I'd marry it. ;-)
So the new ICS brung an improvement to google contacts... but... 256x256?
Yesterday I've got a mail from google about solving this issue at last that lingered from Cupcake time...
http://code.google.com/p/android/issues/detail?id=4147
And what now? Instead of 96x96... we have now 256x256 pics? Still Gmail hasn't adopted and that higher res picture seems to be as an extension in the csv file. And after new custom OS flash - the old ugly pictures pour in etc etc... (I hate backups as I have various devices and could cause an nonobjective of the OS causing other bugs)
New HD resolutions are coming in and calculate the percentage of these pics mates... Why I have to use a 3rd parity sync service?
Maybe someone could explain, why google is so stubborn with this basic need? At least 2MP pictures anyone??
The only ones that solved this problem seems to be Sony Ericsson(Funny Eh?), as their custom framework and contacts app works like it should in high res, and fetches up high res images from various social networks and links those accounts up, and their contact app is the most astonishing no MIUI, SENSE, 3rd parity contact app and etc are even close at their functionality and style...
Or Maybe I am the only one with this aesthetic need?
The only anwser I have for this is that people at google are soo ugly that they prefer to see their pic pixelated. It makes no sense not to have hd pics on contacts...
Hi guys, there are four Android apps that I would like to recommend to you!
Spotify: Spotify maybe the most popular music streaming services in the past several years. With enormous number of songs, this app enable users not only listen to the songs they like, but also create their own playlist of their favorite songs. In addition, users could also get updated album reviews from large music publications, such as Rolling Stone. As a result, this could improve the customer satisfaction about this app, which makes this app so popular in the market.
Flipboard: Flipboard is my favorite news reading app in Google Play market. With millions of users around the world, Flipboard is probably one of the most popular apps in recent years. I love this app, because it provides a personalized miniature magazine out of everything that I am interested. In addition, I can also create magazines and add more content from websites to my Flipboard, which is quite interesting. Moreover, adding and deleting items on Filpboard are quite easy and I can also share my magazine with my friends on Twitter or Facebook .All these functions make this app stand out from ordinary news reading apps.
MoWeather: MoWeather is the app of the year in my Galaxy S3. MoWeather is both pretty and functional. The app background is not only beautiful but also animated, which I believe is much better than Yahoo Weather. The 15-day-forecast could help people plan their holidays or business traveling a lot easier. In addition, the real-time photos shared by people around the world could also provide timely weather condition in those places. As a result, this has changed the way that people using a weather app, which makes this app more popular.
Evernote: I use Evernote to synchronize notes of all kinds, such as voice memos, pictures and PDF files. The app is amazing, all the notes are not only accessible from Evernote applications and website, but also highly searchable and tagable. The new version of Evernote improved the navigation function of this app, which enables app users to access recent notes, tags, and shortcuts quickly. I will refer to Evernote, every time when I want to take a note or search for documents that I need. I put Evernote in my dock and it has become one of the most popular apps in my Galaxy S3.
How do you guys think those apps, looking forward to your comments!
What's the point in suggesting 3 very popular apps and a non popular weather app?

Hello, I'm looking for an app to upload photos (preferably automatically), but also allow others to upload to the same album. Ideally, the shared album would show up in their account as well so they don't have to go looking for it each time.
Facebook allows this, but I don't want to share on fb, I just want to share with a couple people. I really like Google photos, but the multiple contributor "feauture" is atrocious. It's not even a feature, it's more of a work around unless I'm missing something.
What do you guys think?
Thanks
