[Q] *URGENT* - Droid X Gingerbread Problems - Android Software/Hacking General [Developers Only]

Hi Everyone,
My name is Andrew, and I am a bit of an Android n00b.
This week I tried to install the 2.3 Gingerbread leak on my Droid X.
I used the Droid bootstrap to install the Gingerbread from my SD card.
I wiped my cache and factory reset everything first.
LONG VERSION:
However, when I try to boot it, I get stuck on the Motorola logo.
The good news: I can boot into the boot-loader and recovery mode, but I can't do much from there, as "factory reset" option doesn't fix the ROM.
More bad news: Although I copied the contents of my SD card to my Laptop, my friend accidentally broke it. I'm currently SD card-less right now.
SHORT VERSION:
- Boot-loop on Motorola logo after attempted Gingerbread install
- Stock SD card broken
- SD card pre-wipe data saved on laptop
- Able to access recovery mode and boot-loader
QUESTIONS:
1. Will buying a new (generic) micro SD card fix my broken SD problems? If so, is there compatibility issues with SD card storage sizes? (e.g will a 32gb SD work, because my stock SD was 16gb)
2. Is it possible to get a ROM (Stock Froyo, Gingerbread, or Custom...) onto the droid?
3. If I just tell Verizon that I tried to reset my droid X to stock and it stopped working, does that void my warranty, and can they tell if I'm lying?
4. Does the missing micro SD card mess-up my warranty for the phone hardware?
5. If I can't get a ROM on there, is it possible for Verizon to via the boot-loader?
I haven't been able to find a problem quite like mine that has been resoleved.
If you know of (a) thread(s) that answers these questions, please link them!
Thanks SO much to any Android 1337 H4X0RZ who respond.
Sorry for this being so long!
Thanks again,
Andrew (AMcKeeCT)

Should do. just make sure that it is a reputable one (not from ebay)

If motorola provide some rom.utitity than maybe

They will know in that state if u have clockworkmod
4. Does the missing micro SD card mess-up my warranty for the phone hardware?
Doubt it

At a cost since ur warantee is void

[Q] Damaged SD Card?

So I unmounted it, put it in my PC, took some pictures off, ejected it, put it back in and guess what? Damaged SD card. I reformatted it 2-3 times and nothing. I need my SD for everything on my phone. I am rooted running a custom rom (Android Revolution HD). Please help me, i can't live without my SD
I could use some more information...does the phone not read the card? And your computer does?

Being rooted with a custom ROM doesn't mean you NEED the SD card. It will still be rooted and have the ROM loaded and working. I went through this last night for the 2nd time. You should be able to place SD card into computer, format (FAT32) and then reload it into phone and it should be fine. If this doesn't work try a different card.
I couldnt read it in my phone. And i know i dont NEED it, but all my apps are on it. I restarted, and it worked
I used to have the same problem with one of my sd cards and I found out that it wasn't genuine (hacked card) - yours may not be the case

[Q] Xperia X10 SD Card Damaged

I was using my Xperia X10a and suddenly I got a notification that says SD Card Damaged. It asks me to format it, when I click on it, it says preparing SD card and then brings up the SD Card Damaged notification again. I went out and bought another SD Card but it still gives me the SD Card Damaged notification. So I tried seeing if the SD card works on another phone and it works fine. How can i fix this. My phone is also rooted. My phone is on AT&T.

Xperia X10 SD Card Damaged
I was told that there may be a physical problem with the card receiver.
The trick is to only push the card into the slot a little way using the back of the phone to keep it in place.
I tried that to no avail.
I found out that HTC users, Motorolla users, DroidX, Nexus, and other phones running Android Eclair also give the exact problem especially after rooting; many before.
I bought one of the Samsung Galaxy S phones running Gingerbread and haven't had the problem at all.
I mod'd the X10 to Gingerbread and the problem stopped. Only thing is that my Mod doesn't support high res on the camera. Its a temporary fix I guess.

[Q] Trying to flash ICS to HD2 HELP!!!

Hi all. I'm flashing from Froyo to ICS, using NexusHD2-ICS-4.0.4-CM9-HWA V2.1. I've flashed new radio, MAGLDR etc... with no issues, but when I've come to actually flash the ROM, my SD Card has chosen this second to give up on me. It wouldn't transfer any files etc... using the MAGLDR USB mass storage mode, and now refuses to format it.
So, I assume the SD card is screwed (unless there's some weird setting I've missed?) - basically, my phone obviously won't boot into anything now, it's half past midnight and I don't have any more SD cards on me.
How can I flash this ROM using a bootloader? Is that possible? I vaguely recall using a Bootloader to flash to Froyo from WinMo, rather than an SD card.
Any ideas? I need to get this running very soon, so my phone will work.
Cheers in advance.
(also, I did a search, but I couldn't find an answer. Sorry if it has been answered already).
Alternatively, does anyone know of a NAND ROM with a daf.exe loader? Any will do, just so I can get my phone functional until I get a new SD card.
Thanks.
Fixed it, by going into clockworkmod, partitioning the card, formatting it within CWM, mounting the SD card, then mounting USB storage. Seeeeeems to have worked.
So, feel free to delete. That said, would still be interested in finding an alt. solution to this.

[Q] HTC EVO won't boot with SD card

I'm running the ParanoidAndroid ICS ROM on my HTC EVO 4G (original). Everything is fine until I insert an SD card and try to boot; then it won't get past the white boot screen (it keeps restarting). I have reformatted my SD card in both FAT32 and NTFS, to no avail. Does anyone know of a solution, or know how I can contact the ParanoidAndroid developer to ask him? Thank you for any assistance.
Maybe you should try:
1. Flashing a different ROM. Not implying that the ROM is the problem, but the way that your phone responds to the ROM.
2. Try another SD card, preferrably from another device. I am not suggesting that you buy a new SD card, as it might not necessarily solve the problem.
3. Definitely contact the developer. There is a chance that other users could've contacted the dev with the same problems or similar.

[Q] SD Card Unavaible

Hello people.
I cant access my sd card. I pulled the batery out and put it in afterwards, and after that, the phone doesnt recognize it.
Im running stock 4.0.4 version and when I go to storage, it says that SD Card is unavaible. I cant mount it or anything.
The sd card works, because the card worked when I've put in other Desire S (rooted, cm11).
I've read a lot on the Internet but most of the questions were for rooted devices.
Any tips? Should I put the phone in rooted desire s and backup files on sd and format it in fat32 and then put it back? Should it work?
Or what should I do? I dont wanna root the phone becuase I have 1 month warranty left. I just wanted to know is it possible to fix it without going in the store.
Big thanks

I would take out the card and power cycle the device (full reboot) then one the device has powered on insert the sdcard and see if the is detects it. When powering back on you can keep the battery pinched Into the device with your finger and you won't power off when you have the flap lifted up

Had the same problem 4 months ago, just disable fastboot option in settings. Should work.
