[Q] Damaged SD Card? - HTC Inspire 4G

So I unmounted it, put it in my PC, took some pictures off, ejected it, put it back in and guess what? Damaged SD card. I reformatted it 2-3 times and nothing. I need my SD for everything on my phone. I am rooted running a custom rom (Android Revolution HD). Please help me, i can't live without my SD

I could use some more information...does the phone not read the card? And your computer does?

Being rooted with a custom ROM doesn't mean you NEED the SD card. It will still be rooted and have the ROM loaded and working. I went through this last night for the 2nd time. You should be able to place SD card into computer, format (FAT32) and then reload it into phone and it should be fine. If this doesn't work try a different card.

I couldnt read it in my phone. And i know i dont NEED it, but all my apps are on it. I restarted, and it worked

I used to have the same problem with one of my sd cards and I found out that it wasn't genuine (hacked card) - yours may not be the case

[Q] Xperia X10 SD Card Damaged

I was using my Xperia X10a and suddenly I got a notification that says SD Card Damaged. It asks me to format it, when I click on it, it says preparing SD card and then brings up the SD Card Damaged notification again. I went out and bought another SD Card but it still gives me the SD Card Damaged notification. So I tried seeing if the SD card works on another phone and it works fine. How can i fix this. My phone is also rooted. My phone is on AT&T.

Xperia X10 SD Card Damaged
I was told that there may be a physical problem with the card receiver.
The trick is to only push the card into the slot a little way using the back of the phone to keep it in place.
I tried that to no avail.
I found out that HTC users, Motorolla users, DroidX, Nexus, and other phones running Android Eclair also give the exact problem especially after rooting; many before.
I bought one of the Samsung Galaxy S phones running Gingerbread and haven't had the problem at all.
I mod'd the X10 to Gingerbread and the problem stopped. Only thing is that my Mod doesn't support high res on the camera. Its a temporary fix I guess.

[Q] microSD card not being recognized NEED HELP!

For some reason the sensation isn't recognizing my microSD card anymore. I've been playing around with different roms a lot today and made a backup of insertcoin 2.55-1 and then installed ARHD 3.60, then virtuous, then ARHD 3.60. I tried to restore the backup I made of insertcoin but recovery says the MD5 isn't matched and aborts it.
Now in android revolution hd 3.60 it won't recognize the sd and when I try and remount it it does nothing other than say preparing...
Any ideas??
Does it work in another device?

Do you have another SD card to try? Do you happen to have a SD Card reader for PC? Another phone?
Alright I took a crappy 256mb card out of an old phone and put that in. The sensation recognized it and everything was fine. It seems like the 8gb sd card is the problem, but the thing is, I was able to install the ARHD zip file from it while in recovery. Besides that nothing else works. If it can do that, I assume its still fine. I'm gonna order an sd card converter to hook it up to my pc, but besides that anybody have any experience with this? Was it all the rom flashing or...?
EDIT: I used my old phone and a usb cord to try and read the card. I can read it and I am taking the data off of it right now. I'm just wondering why the sensation won't recognize it?
sounds like something is wrong with the sd card. if the other phone recognizes it than i would transfer all your stuff from the sd card into your computer and reformat the sd card...... hopfully that works
Simply put card into PC or in a card reader and format it.
You could probably do it in the camera you have if you didn't gave card reader

[Q] Damaged SD Card Help

I have a Samsung Galaxy Showcase I500 i was on stock 2.3.5 and i decided to flash a custom rom so i installed newest miui rom for I500 1.12.9 i think.. So my problem is that if i reboot my phone it seems to make the sd card corrupt. which isnt really a problem because i always keep it on. The first time it happened though my phone rebooted on its own and was kind of glitchy. Since then i have had the sd card damaged problem 2 more times but when i rebooted once and once when i pushed files from my computer to my sd card in usb storage mode. i really like this rom but i cant continue to reformat my sd card every couple of days and reload music download album cover redownload themes etc...its getting old... any help would be greatly appreciated. by the way i have tried reformatting with my computer and my phone so i know that wont fix it.
fix sd card

I have not had good results. i have tried 99 times and nothing i don't know what i am doing wrong. can someone plz help

Reformat
Reformat your SD card by right clicking -> properties -> and format it. See if this helps. Also, try using another SD card to see if it is just your SD card or your phone that is bad. Deduce and solve
i have tried all of this reformatting from my phone from my computer every which way i could. i have used my disk management and nothing works. i decided to keep my 8 gb in there it is working without flaw. but both the 16 gb ones just keep getting corrupted. This is weird because when i tried installing miui with my 16 gb sd card it wouldnt work so after pulling my hair out for two days i found a post where someone said to use an 8 gb card to install it and i did and it worked perfectly. i guess this phone rom doesnt like 16 gb sd cards.

[Q] SD Card Unavaible

Hello people.
I cant access my sd card. I pulled the batery out and put it in afterwards, and after that, the phone doesnt recognize it.
Im running stock 4.0.4 version and when I go to storage, it says that SD Card is unavaible. I cant mount it or anything.
The sd card works, because the card worked when I've put in other Desire S (rooted, cm11).
I've read a lot on the Internet but most of the questions were for rooted devices.
Any tips? Should I put the phone in rooted desire s and backup files on sd and format it in fat32 and then put it back? Should it work?
Or what should I do? I dont wanna root the phone becuase I have 1 month warranty left. I just wanted to know is it possible to fix it without going in the store.
Big thanks

I would take out the card and power cycle the device (full reboot) then one the device has powered on insert the sdcard and see if the is detects it. When powering back on you can keep the battery pinched Into the device with your finger and you won't power off when you have the flap lifted up

Had the same problem 4 months ago, just disable fastboot option in settings. Should work.

[Lenovo A850] SD CARD PROBLEM

Okay so it is been some months that I am using this phone, there is actually no problem with the SD Cards that I have used in the past few months, I bought this new SD Card(that has problem) in the last 1.5 month/s it worked really well and no problem at all. But in the last 2 days, I restarted my phone(changing sim card) turned it back on, then it did not detect the SD Card, I have tried some things like formatting the phone but it did not fix it, I have tried inserting the SD Card into a card reader and insert in my computer it worked, it detected the SD Card, I then tried formatting it from the operating systems formatting tool, I also tried formatting it with SDFormatter V4.0 but it did not fix it. There was a day when my friend tried to edit voldf.stab file from /etc/ since I want it to be like the External Storage will be Internal and vice versa. That is all the informations I can give and is in my mind right now, you can ask more questions regarding this tho thank you so much for reading and I really need help in here. I cannot figure it out.

My assumptions-
-Faulty SD cage (in case you accidentally slotting in SD card with force)
-Recent change in kernel (I really don't know about kernels, check the other thread)
-Pathogens....( I mean viruses, probably system level that bugs the interference from SD slot to system)
That's my guess. You may try to consult an experienced phone serviceman, or Lenovo Service Center (if your city have one).
