Best way to protect your digitizer? - Verizon Droid Charge

What's the best way to protect you digitizer screen? I've cracked a few, so I'm wondering what works best.
Thx

dont drop it and dont apply a TON of force with a hard object. screen protectors arent gonna help you on that one lol

LOL yeah I was gonna say that, I would also like to add don't throw it against a wall in a fit of rage.

TPU case to cushion any drop-impacts.

[Q] random screen protector Q (phantomskinz & skinomi)

I'm excited to get a screen protector on my epic because...I already dropped it. I'm going to put on a Phantom skinz screen protector, which according to the instructions involves water and baby shampoo. I don't have any baby shampoo at the moment -- was hoping to use the skinomi application solution. Is there anything significant about either one? Is it just to ensure a tight seal and easy application (acting as a lubricant)? If so I guess there wouldn't be a problem to just use the Skinomi stuff...
I am cheap, lazy, don't feel like going to the nearest store to get baby shampoo, and get really excited when new products come in the mail. =P
TIA
You can use anything really. Invisible Shield, Skinomi, water and baby shampoo, water and dish soap, whatever. It just acts as a lubricant to keep it from sticking to you or the phone until it's set right.
So yes, you're fine with the skinomi stuff.
The Skinomi fluid is basically water. Adding a bit of soap helps with making it easier to move the skins around on the device.
thanks for the responses! overly paranoid about stuff...

Yah it doesn't matter what you do some poeple even use drops of soap.
The one thing you want to watch out for is bubbles, as they ruin the application.
Baby oil works as well.

Scratched metal

You know, I like the metal "stripe" down the back, but can you believe my fingernail scratched it? I don't think that bodes well for the long haul if I can scratch it that easily. And it's a real scratch, not a surface blemish as far as I can tell.
Anyone else already scratch the metal?
Mine is scratched, or scuffed, and I have no idea how it happened. I have been babying this thing.
i assume you took the plastic off of it? cause the plastic is easy to scratch. =) haha.

Yep...though you did make me second guess myself.
But yeah, it's off.
I think I'm going to try and exchange it...this must have been there when I got it.
Uhhh you didn't put a case on your phone right away? I bought their 20$ one and its awesome.... Protection yo.
U do know its "brushed" as in brushed metal... its made to look like that.... cuz I just tried scratching it (sense I'm getting a new one) and I can't scratch it with my nail..

Yeah I just tried it again and I couldn't either, so I'm thinking it was there already. The reason I scratched with my nail in the first place was I thought I saw some left over plastic or something still there. So I tried to scratch it off.
Instead of putting ugly bulky cases on my devices I just buy a couple spare battery covers on Ebay a couple months after the phone is released. I always wonder why people cover up there nice looking phone with a rubber case. Wonder why the manufacturers just don't make a rubber phone?

hey, it really does happen. i havent taken off the protectors cause they're not peeling for me. lol.
I am very very careful with all of my phones. I have yet to actually scratch one(I always use cases and screen protectors.) I was shocked when after only having installed the battery and set the device down that the aluminum strip had multiple scratches on it. I have no idea how they got there. Went to local T Mobile store and checked their demo unit and NO SCRATCHES . With all of the handling etc no scratches!!! I wonder if it is a quality control issue with the aluminum? I put a case on it within 4 hours of receiving it. I am having to send this one back due to random reboots -signal issues-battery overheating-lcd screen bleeding at edges- so I will be very very careful to see what this aluminum strip on the back is like. I am starting to wonder whether this phone is ready for prime time or not due to all the issues I have found and the many other issues others have found. I believe this can be a giant of a phone if all of the bugs can be worked out.

Well, I exchanged it thanks to the nice folks at T-mobile.
Make sure it's not the plastic on the strip that's messed up, as the first thing they checked was whether or not the plastic was still on.

Mine did that the other day. I looked at it and was like, "OMFG... already!"
Then I noticed the plastic. I wore it for a few days didn't even know it was on there. I recommend leaving it on unless there is a huge scratch on it.

Dropping phones is inevitable. It will SOON eventually happen. I hate to put on cases too, but it's necessary.
I would have just left the plastic on...why take it off? It was literally invisible and you couldn't tell it was even there.
The Galaxy is actually a beast. I've dropped mine so many times and it held up. Don't let the lightness fool us..it's one beast and held it's own on it's fall...impressive.
As they say, the bigger and heavier you are, the harder you fall...
There's a huge advantage of the Galaxy being light...
The worst phones for falls are HTC's...wayyy to heavy...
I agree with dropping the galaxy s. That phone is well built! People may not like the plastic build but it is a very durable phone!
Regarding the G2x, I am carrying it naked it is a good looking phone. Gonna buy the European battery covers when they become available.

Has it ever occur to you that no one else here have done it?
It's not an everyday thing to swap out glass on a tablet, not like you can boot into recovery and do it.
Anyhow try a glass specialty store or even an electronic/pc repair place.
yea i know haha sorry, its just theres people online that say they have done it, just not how anyways thanks so much for the reply, i dont think ive ever heard of a glass specialty store, do you know the name of one?

Scratched my screen :'(

Hi guys i have scratched my screen i know i should have been using a screen protector but just not go around to buying a new set.
Any way could someone point me in the direction of getting a new screen.
Also is it worth letting LG do it iv called them and the warranty does not cover the glass.
Any parts will have to be in the UK as i am also i had a look on ebay and have no idea what is official and what is not
Let me know guys thanks
What kind of scratch? Screen protectors can just cover it up so that you can ignore it and prevent further scratches. This saves at least $40 and prevent s you from having to open the phone up

Its a pretty deep scratch and goes from one side of the screen to the other
try a thick wet screen protector first then see if that fixes it
Would Liquid armor fill in the scratch? Best screen protection I've used to date, and I've had a fair share of phones

If your screen is not to scratched, you can install a privacy screen protector or a matte one, and you wont notice it anymore. Remember this will work only if it's not to much damage on the screen. Send photos to see the damage if you have them.
Liquid Armor will not Fix or Fill or Protect you screen.
It may only give you Water Spill-Resistant for a short time.
Please test it with Soil, Dust or Sand & you will learn a big lesson like my friend...!

Are Xoskins easy to get ion the UK i think i looked for them before.
Whats your thoughts on these compared to the Xo skin ones.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/SPIGEN-SG...ting_LaptopAccessories_RL&hash=item2c6a928c9e
I have used this screen protector before and it was pretty could you just have to make sure theres not one spec of dust on the screen before hand...
I'm also for XO Skin. Spectacular stuff; and it WILL take away scratches that aren't super deep. Spigen seems good, but its a dry application that's more of a hard film. It may take away some light scratches, but I don't think it will get in and fill the deeper scratches that you may have. XO would be your best bet. There's other wet protectors, but from what I've tried, the others are junk.

Any waterproof cases?

I know it may be too soon, but are there any waterproof cases for the phone? Even though the phone is water resistant I'd like to have a case for when I go diving in the sea or pool. I know there's pouches but I'm looking for an actual case. Thanks everyone.

I purchased a case like this for my LG V20 and I never used it. It made the phone too big width wise for me. You could always buy one and resell it if you don't like it.
You can buy it on Amazon, I wouldn’t say it was waterproof though.
Can't find it on Amazon... Where?
I've also been searching for a waterproof case for my 6T. I'm sailing a lot in salty waters, phones have a tendancy to stop working....
Still no good waterproof case?

Nope, we must give up and get a different phone. It ain't gonna happen.
A solution I have used since long ago to play geocaching or Ingress under the rain was to put the smartphone in one of those transparent waterproof plastic bags you use to freeze food. Screen works perfectly under heavy rain. Mobile stay dry. ^^ Best ones for me are Ziploc.
Thanks for contribution. I think it's better to buy a $10 water bag on Amazon instead. I know it's the best we are gonna get. It's still a pita to take/put it off and on off and on.....
You know what can also work?? Condoms, you can put your phone in a condom and tie it well at the end, nothing will go in and nothing out. It's cheap and you just have to wipe it with a wet cloth, and you have different colors if you want to apply filters lool
