For the first time in since I've had this phone its been on 3g for the last hour in a half. In my area I never see 3g. Anyone else having this issue could it be the Rom (no blame intended) do I need to change the radio?
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App

If you just got it working by adding an apn, you'll need to reboot
Via the XDA app for the HTC Inspire
Reboot how? I'm a android newbie. I was really good at hacking windows phones

Literally just turn it off and back on. It seems any issues are usually resolved by doing this.

HEHE sometimes we make things more complicated than they are, hehe.
One time my screen looked grainy and someone said wipe my device. When I was about to reformat and erase it, I realized they meant with a cloth... as in wipe some of the grease off the screen..... hahahahaha, okay at least *I* laughed!
Awesome.

I noticed when browsing the XDA forum via web browser, that when I tap the screen and hold, there is ever a slight shift in color tones. When I let go the color returns to normal. (I'm sure its on other sites as well that aren't on a white background). Has anyone else noticed this?
You can test by browsing XDA, going into a post, zooming in, and tap and hold around someone's avatar. Usually the icons around the avatar will become more pronounced when tapping, and look at the color of the background.
This might be a normal thing, but would love for someone else to test it and report back on it via their Sensation.
Last thing I want to do is bring this one back and swap.
I noticed it when I was choosing apps from my home screen.

Do you notice it browsing XDA? But not via the XDA app. Tapping and letting go?

i noticed it on the browser too on xda site, not tired any other site. but i think it could be software, maybe hardware but most likely software, anyone else got anything on this?
I just noticed also on the stock News app. White background, but when scrolling background turns just slightly pink. When done scrolling background goes back to white. Could be the app, but would appreciate if anyone could try that as well!
Yeah I noticed it on the xda app

Sent from my HTC Sensation 4G using XDA Premium App
Okay I just downloaded XDA premium and XDA free on both devices and checked many other apps and the browser on both mine and my wifes sensation and here is what I found,I was able to replicate the issue on both phones only in the XDA premium app
And I did NOT find this to be an issue and could NOT replicate it in any app nor the browser and also not in the XDA free app.Cheers

I've downloaded the Gingerbread keyboard and used it for a few weeks.
I went back to stock keyboard because I heard that it may be possible for someone (whoever uploaded the keyboard) to track keystrokes such as passwords.
I dunno...just didn't want to take the chance.
Any thoughts ?

You get that warning from any keyboard that you install.
Ive never used any keyboard but the gingerbread keyboard from the market. Nobody's hacked anything of mine. Knock on wood. That's a standard warning.

Hello, probably a dumb question, bulbs there a way to remove/uninstall the apps that came pre-installed on the phone? Blockbuster and the like? I won't use blockbuster and its using up space. I have everything stock. Not rooted, its a brand-new inspire and I would prefer to keep it stock. Hope to remove the useless junk!
Sent from my HTC Inspire 4G using XDA App
Have to root of think. Then you can uninstall or freeze them. Might be able to freeze them unrooted, not sure. Though they would still be taking up space if you do freeze them, just not using up resources..
*ins>rt sig here*
In order to delete you will have to root. BUT you can try this. Download launcher pro from the market. Using launcher pro you can hide the apps. :-D
I got your 10 char right here
Titanium backup will freeze or uninstall them

Just hide them with launcher pro. Thats what I did for the first 2 weeks when I got this phone while I read up on rooting. Then I rooted and never looked back. :-D

I just don't want to deal with doing it, if not needed. Wanted to see if it was possible to get riff of the unneeded apps, like blockbuster and twitter. And asphalt. Ugh! (also, my signature thingy says 'desire hd' instead of inspire 4b... Why?)

Yeah I manually changed it lol
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
weird, i thought only custom roms had that issue. anyways, to answer your question, its because the inspire and desire hd are the same. desire hd is the euro model where inspire is the us model... atleast thats the way i understand it. I think there are a couple hardware differences, but nothing serious. thats why alot of the roms for the inspire make the phone think its a desire, because thats where they were ported over from.

Not sure if it's the same with the free app, but when you're not in a thread, hit menu, more, settings and scroll down to signature. Click panel and choose customize, then click on the customize panel. You can make it say whatever you want.

Yes.

Given all the controversy over the app, I'm surprised there isn't a thread (that I found, anyway) here about it already here.
So, the simple question is: is it on the stock Gingerbread ROM for T-Mobile?
I loaded up the rooted OTA and ran the check for CIQ. I didn't find anything, but there was some HTC logging software I think.
Yea... i'll go put my tin foil hat on.
T mobile does not use it, at least not officially stated.

The question is do 3rd party developers use it. Once a phone is rooted and the stock OS is ripped out it shouldn't matter what they use on OE Handsets. Don't like the idea of Big Brother watching you, either rid yourself of the problem by removing the OS with the app, or don't do things that are against the law.
