Onlive easy button map method

This is an easy way for people to map onlive buttons to the xperia plays gamepad for use with Hatcyl's onlive helper app see this thread for more details on his app and link to download.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1382899
I Have made a generic onlive profile to be used with onlive helper app for full control of the onlive menu without having to touch the screen at all plus you can set lots of games to it for better all round use of onlive. This can be used for touchscreen supported or keyboard supported onlive games.
1.Easy messaging - It also enables you to chat with messages a bit like a ps3 instead of trying to type out on the tiny onscreen keyboard (Highlight the letter with the d-pad, x button to select your choice, circle to delete last choice and triangle for space bar).
2.Games - You can use this profile with any game that lets you change the ingame controll config to your own choices (e.g works with mx vs atv reflex, dirt3 plus finding more all the time ) each game you change settings in, the onlive game will save the customized config profile for any future play so only have to set them up 1 time.
3.onlive menu button config-
start - play game
select - toggle favorites
menu - sort games menu
circle - delete and back button in some game menus
square - only works for game mapping
triangle - space bar
cross - enter or select (menus and ingame)
back button - back in all menus
these 4 below all normal for easy selections in onlive menu and in game menus plus wont normally have to change them on ingame configs
up - up
down - down
left - left
right - right
left / right shoulders just a and b for mapping in games do nothing in menus at mo.
any of these hardware buttons (not back button) can be mapped to buttons in game if the game gives you the choice.
4.mouse - the mouse will be turned on in games that are not yet offically touchscreen supported.
any game that uses the mouse (which is emulated onscreen by onlive) change the mouse sensitivity and other mouse options (normally sliders) on the ingame settings to as low as you can go but without turning them off completely for a useable mouse
(eg tried this with homefront used the touchscreen for looking around and aiming and the d-pad for moving and strafe and it was playable)
Tip for certain games - if the hardware buttons do not work on the ingame menus use the touchscreen like your playing an android game just try pressing on the onscreen options it will act like your clicking mouse button on the option given.
could do this with more games too.
5.list of games i have mapped- using this profile
mx vs atv reflex - buttons can be mapped
homefront - use the touchscreen to look and aim (turn mouse sensitivity down as far as can go before you shut it off completely) you will also need to map the right click on a mouse to something like sprint should come up lmb as choice if done, or when you touch screen it will pause. map aim down site's to L1 and fire R1 and you have it playable other buttons can be mapped also.
saint row 2 -buttons can be mapped and you can use the touchscreen to move the cam (turn mouse sensitivity down as far as can go before you shut it off completely) this also mite work for the 3rd to.
alarm for cobra 11 nitro - buttons can be mapped
Dirt 3 - buttons can be mapped
Flatout 2 - buttons can be mapped
virtua tennis 2009 - buttons can be mapped
Gear Grinder - buttons can be mapped
and finding more work as well.
not sure if this will help in anyone but its good for an all rounder profile and a easyer way then finding out all the codes for diff games
or buying other apps to do different jobs.
add the file attached to
/sdcard/Android/data/com.hatcyl.android.OnLiveHelper/files
it will then become a profile selectable in the onlive helper app.
Thanks do we do the mapping while in the onlive app?

So I'm not sure how to do this. I started batman arkum asylum and went to controls but there was nothing to edit. Said keyboard onlive under controls but I couldn't edit them. Controls worked through the menus and I could move batman using the direction keys but couldn't map the other controls or edit and the.screen sensitivity was horrible to use to look around.
Your help would be.appreciated
Sent from my R800a using XDA App
Have tried to map batman but the game does not have the settings you can use onlive helper and make your own profile the screen works as the camera views but would be able to map the rest to the plays pad.

On asus transformer with ics the sixaxis controller is natively supported without the need for any other application
I played Meganoid using gamepad. Don't remember having any problems so it's probably fully suported.
Gunman Clive
Helium Boy Demo There is a paid version of the game to.
Pretty fun game with nice graphics. colorful and playful feeling..
Both games supports keyboard, gamepad. Have its own setting menu so you can mapp your keys..
The keys that works and the ones you can use on the keyboard when you set up the buttons (think this goes for all games)
Tab
Caps lock
Shift Buttons
Ctrl Buttons
Alt
Arrows
If you have Sixaxis app. You can use all the keys on the keyboard to choose from if you set Sixaxis to input metod. Seems that this works witout root. So it should work the same if you have the app USB Joystick Center.
Open Sixaxis
Change IME
Choose Sixaxis Conroller
Asus Prime & Tapatalk
Thanks for the advice, but I play all games that support keyboard or mouse or gamepad only with DroidMote.
The important thing is to support some external input devices.

I do not like touch profiles, I find it uncomfortable to create a touch profile for each game, or different touch profile for different screen size or change touch profile for every game. if the game support the gamepad, from the comfort of my couch, with a single device i play with all games.
In essence we are only interested in games that support external input devices.
So are the games listed in the first two posts compatible with Sixaxis without touch profiles?

Not sure what the issue is, my tf101 plays it fine. I didn't do anything either, just connected loaded tiki kart and it works.
Dead Trigger
unfortunately I can't post links yet...sorry. Just search it in google play.
Gamepad option allows you to map your control without needing to set a touch profile with Sixaxis...plays great with my PS3 controller!

Yes. Death trigger works for me. But what is the firing control ? Not able to find that so I am using touch to shoot and my ps3 controller to move. Lol

You mean the very first entry in the gamepad settings? BTW, "Aim" brings up the scope/sights.
Thank You!
I have searched the Internet for about... ehh 30 minutes trying to find a list like this. No surprise it would be found on XDA i should have came here to start with. Quick Question... You said "Now that ICS is among us" I have a Xoom (Unrooted Android 4.1) and EVO 4G (Ported CyanogenMod9 4.04) Do you believe either one of my devices will support gameplay with my Playstation Controller? or Maybe Both? What do you think?
I can't get my Xbox 360 USB controller to work anywhere. Super annoying.
All gamepad supported games will work with sixaxis app just tick emulate gampade controller and the go into the gampad supported game go to settings and there should be map gamepad control's some games like GTA 3 will work straight away

Minecraft

Simple question, does the mobile mine craft work with the TF? Also, can you use the keyboard as is the way of the PC version?
Yes, probably.
Minecraft is not working but Minecraft Pocket Edition vel Mobile works fantastic Keyboard does not work (maybe yet) but is not a problem because touch control is grate. For me even better than classic way of control.
Minecraft works just fine on my tablet, but the keyboard dock isn't compatible with the app. The touch pad allows you to adjust the camera with a two finger swipe. The left click will allow you dig, but that's about it. Nothing else on the keyboard responds. WASD and the arrow keys do nothing.
Sent from my ASUS Transformer Pad TF700T using xda app-developers app
Also, minecraft PE does not work with the native PS3 controller driver (connected via usb) :crying:. But is pretty fun with touch only controls.
Im pretty sure with applications like the sixaxis controller you could hotkey button presses to the keyboard. Not exactly the meathod your looking for but the result is close.

Your top apps

Hi everyone.
Seems like the forum for the Z4 tablet are a bit slow and not that popular, hopefully it will change in the near future
I thought we could start a "top apps" thread where you list the top applications you use on your tablet to share it with others.
The apps I use the most is:
Plex: Client app to the Plex Server running on my computer for all my streaming needs.
TED: Look and listen to lectures and conferences.
Amazon Kindle: Well, for all those e-books.
Perfect Viewer: For all your comic needs.
Heavens-Above: Great app for stargazing.
What do you do on your tablet?
Cheers
Good idea!
I'll just copy one of yours: Kindle- most convenient eBook reader out there.
Reddit Sync- for all that Redditing goodness in a beautiful tablet format
MX Player- I heard VLC was good, but MX Player has run fine for years. Perfect for watching movies or anything.
Netflix
MightyText- for when you can't put down your tablet but need to text!
Flight Control- oldie but a goldie
Top Apps:
- FloatingApps (For multiwindow since my machine isn't rooted)
- Whatsapp (LTE Version)
- Cloud Magic (Email)
- Vain Glory (MOBA game)
-Flight radar 24 (Flight tracker)
- Office Suite
- Icon Changer
- SplashTop HD
GMD Full Screen Immersive Mode (get rid of the pesky, screen real estate consuming softkeys)
All in one Gestures (use gestures / hardware buttons for navigation)
Nova Launcher Prime (best launcher)
Helium - App Sync and Backup (no-root backup solution)
Hacker's Keyboard (suits me best on a tablet)
Roundme (great 360 degrees panoramas)
