Favorite Market Apps & Games

Hey I know this has already been done. I am trying to find a "NEW" list of everyone's favorite apps and games from the android market. Feel free to join in and leave a list of your favorites, or even a general description of the app would be nice as well.
I will start it out:
1. Cestos (a very addictive marble game-play against others online)
2. Barcode Scanner (a must for scanning just about anything shopping or apps)
3. Gmote (want to use your android phone as a keyboard and mouse for your pc, operates everything on your computer via your phone)
4. Google Translate (even speaks the different language for you)
5. PicSay Pro (its really crazy what you can do to your pictures with this app)
6. Police Light (use with caution)
7. Wave Secure (very nice security, nice options)
This is only the beginning, I would like to see what other people are finding as their favorites.

the weather channel : nice video app for getting the weather

This is a very good thread too keep going. Of course everyone really wants to know what apps and games everyone else is enjoying. Of course in all reality it is going to be very hard to actually test everything out there so finding different ideas from others is absolutely essential.

WEATHER WIDGET DONATE VERSION - Although I think its having problems right after the most recent update, its a great weather and clock app.
WEATHER CHANNEL - Works great with the weather widget. Gives you weather forecast, and satellite view of the weather.
STAR TRANSLATE / GOOGLE TRANSLATE - Torn between the two translators, they both work great, slightly different features.
VOICE RECORDER - I like it coz of the widget.
COLORNOTE NOTEPAD - Its basically just a notepad, but more features than the AK notepad.
MOVIES - I use it to check out movies all the time, and check out previews, ratings, and show times before going to the theaters.
PLACES DIRECTORY - Self explanatory. Works great.
TMOBILE VISUAL VOICEMAIL - Check out your voice msgs without dialing a number
CAR DAR - Never loose your car again in a crowded parking space. lol.
WHERES MY DROID - You guys must have this
WAVE SECURE MOBILE - Track your lost phone, remotely lock, delete all your files in your phone, and make the phone scream. Yah literally SCREAM! lol
GOOGLE SKY MAP - Impress someone with this app... Show them exactly where URANUS is at. haha!
APP TO QR - Works great with Barcode Scanner.

Quick Settings - tried all the simple, fast switchers out there. This has the most features, is the least intrusive, and loads fastest
Silent Time Pro - auto-silences my phone for sleeping. Like locale, but a lot simpler

I just installed Mobile Defense...can someone explain to me how to do this though?
In the description it says:
"** Root Users ** Install as system app to auto-enable GPS and prevent uninstall"
How do I do this? I have root, but it auto installed the app after I downloaded it from the market, so I'm not sure how to make it a system app.

Pandora/iMusic/Listen - for in-car audio (Listen is more for Podcasts and such)
MortPlayer Audio - Best free Audiobook player on the market EASILY
ShopSavvy - I prefer it over Barcode Scanner (It does QR codes now)
aCar - Tracks my mileage, fill-ups, and overall car maintenance
EStrongs File Manager and Task Killer - EASILY the best at what they do. I prefer the EStrongs Task manager over Astro, and the Task Killer over the 2 most popular Killers. (And they're both free). Also has the best Task Killer Widget to date imo
N1 Torch - Just a good lil' flashlight.
Gmote - Perfect for streaming audio from my home PC
Google Sky Map - Who doesn't like to know what they're looking at in the sky :-D
Handcent SMS - Easily beats the stock messenger
OurGroceries - The wife and I use this to keep the shopping lists up to date (She uses a CLIQ)
TuneWiki - Overall my preferred media player for music.
Where - Gives me places to go when I'm out an about. Nice to have reviews while already doin' some running around.
Urbanspoon - Another nice program, though I'm still not 100% sold. Where gives me enough in reviews for restaraunts.
Swype, HTC_IME, and SwiftKey keyboards - Still testing them all. All 3 have things I prefer over stock, and all are worth a try at least.

Juice Defender - Must have in my opinion. Especially if you are gonna be away from a charger for awhile.

Widget locker. Best thing I ever installed. I love making the lock screen custom. My phone looks like no other andriod i personally know.

Juice defender KILLED my battery and it was the paid app!!! the full blown version..

How could the Game Launcher be improved?

The Xperia Play dedicated game launcher seems to be pretty much like the music player. It reads certain metadata (the famous "xperiaplay_optimized" label, the names of the games and its creators) and it reads the cover art (the game's icon). In landscape mode you have the "cover art" displayed prominently, and in portrait mode you have a list, with the "cover art" reduced to fit said list of items. That, plus the "toggle when sliding open" element, makes the dedicated launcher app, in a nutshell. What do you think could be added to the app?
I'd like to be able to sort my games somehow. Maybe by the number of times the app has been run? By creator?

I wouldnt want all my games in the launcher, it defeats the object for having a dedicated launcher for play optimised games.... i like being able to see at a glance what games i can play that support the pad

iLauncher Icons Pack [24/12/2013]

Hello guys!
Some times ago I've started using a different launcher, over the classic Sense interface of my HyperSense Nova rom, and I've tried iLauncher, which simulates perfectly the iPhone UI, with the same smoothness and feel you would expect!
Since some time it's been removed from the Play Store for unknown reason but you can download it here, & it works very well along with iOS7 UI.
And because of my appreciation, I have created a big number of iPhone ICONS for a LOT of Android applications of ALL genres.
Actually there're 370 icons into my .zip file!! All icons have 175x175 px dimension which is more than enough for our screen!
YOU DON'T HAVE TO FLASH ANYTHING, JUST UNZIP THE FOLDER where you want on your SDCARD, then using iLauncher you have the option (long-press an icon, press once again into that icon and it'll popup a menu) to "Change the icon"!
Make sure to open the icons with your gallery application.

Yep, 1 by 1, but it's not so painful.. I don't think iLauncher supports apk theme, because there's no option into the settings.

Developers should make u to pay for their roms. Paying for icons no thx

Great job! I started using iLauncher when iOs 7 came out, say what u will about apple but it does look great. Check out iNoty too if you want more eyecandy, its a status bar and notification panel replacement, too bad the functionality isn't as great as the stock one.

Anybody knows what happened to the developer of this launcher? Today all his apps are gone from google play and so his facebook page...i hope he didnt drop a poop at this.

Helloooo, I have just updated the pack with lots of new icons and I have re-builded ALL the icons with more rounded angles to look like iOS7!
Try it with the new iLauncher 3.1.4
I have spent a lot of time, but Merry Chirstmas all :victory:

No, I think you should download them one by one from google

Firs of all, thank you for your tremendous effort. you did a very good job, nice icons, really beautiful. but unfortunately these icon doesn't fit perfectly with my phone. i used an original iOS icon pack witch had the basic icons for the iOS9 settings, phone, mail..etc. and it fit perfectly the size was x192 so if you can make a larger pack x192 or above that would be much appreciated 'cause i tried it'll reduce the quality if i re sized your current x175 pack

Nice idea but more info about each app/game and links would be better way to go.

Most of mine require a subscription to be useful (Pluralsight, Sky Go, Sky+, Audible) but my other "essential" apps are:

Hmm, not so much I think. Has anyone tried LogMeIn Ignition with a Note 3? Does it allow one to use the stylus exactly like a mouse or is it more like using the screen as a touchpad as many other remote desktop type application work?
