Hellow all,
yesterday I decided to change my launcher on my X10
and I found launcher pro on the market
I also installed home switcher (it asked me to install if I can't open launcherpro)
well... what I want to ask is
1. Is it ok to have two launcher in my X10?
because when I installed launcherpro and reboot for the first time, it just went into a forced close loop for about 3 times..
I have set the launcherpro as my default launcher
2. Does the battery decline very fast under laucherpro?
I installed launcherpro, home switcher and adfree yesterday and the battery just declined from 20% to 8% in about two hours
I had never seen this before...
can somebody please help me
I have launcher pro on my x10 and it works great. I dont use home switcher. And no, no battery drain.
how can you open up launcherpro when there is the original one without home switcher?

You should get a option to choose between Launchers.. go to apps-manage apps-find the launcher(default), clear the default action- go back to homescreen-enable chosse launcher as default-pick launcherpro.

Is it done in root explorer?
I cant find the launcher(default)
Is it in the system/app?
I found only SemcHomeL.apk
Go to Settings->Applications->Manage applications->Find Launcher(not LauncherPro), tap on it-> Clear defaults..
Then tap the home button, and choose LauncherPro

This!
All you do is go to Settings \ Applications then find your default home launcher and clear everything, then when you hit the home button, it will ask you which home app you want to use.
I did it step by step, don't judge me!
Thanks to idbl_fanatic, over at Android Forums for finding this!
1. Install Anycut from the android market (it's free)
2. Open Anycut and select "New Shortcut"
3. Now click Activity
4. Scroll down the list of activities until you see "Select COM Port Mode" and click it. Just hit ok to accept the default name
5. You will see a "shortcut created" notification. Go back to your homescreen and look for the new shortcut
6. Once you click the new shortcut you'll see three radio buttons. Simply change to Mass Storage

I actually didn't find this, someone else had posted it on one of the many forums I go to, I just passed it along.
Regardless, it is working flawlessly!
I could cry actually, because I was so scared that my Triumph had a defect, but it actually turned out to be fixable!
I just click on the "turn on usb mass storage" (or something like that) button. Was that not working or something? Downloading an app to do the same thing seems like a bit of overkill to me.

Sometime the TRIUMPH don't see that it is plugged in to the PC, and nothing you can do will fix it.
Ah, that makes sense then. I was curious why you had to do all that, and know I know.
Yeah, this is for those whose PC would not pick up the phone for USB transferring. Keep this in mind as some people have reported the USB working one day, then the next day it won't pick up.

Just wanted to mention that if you're using Launcher Pro or other non stock launchers, you can already create shortcuts without having to install another app. Otherwise, great tip.

Any luck finding which app it goes to, though? On ADW, they don't list everything all jumbled together... they have it spread out in quite a few little submenus.
had no idea there was an issue with this. Mine has taken a wile a few times but never not recognized at all

I don't know about ADW but on launcher pro, you just long press on an empty area of your home screen and select Shortcuts from the long press menu. I can only assume you would do the same thing in adw but I could be wrong.

That's what you do, I just have no idea where the shortcut would be Although I'm still looking for it.
Today I was having an issue with my phone plugging in to my computer, and this little guide saved my butt. Strangely it's been working on and off just fine, and even when it doesn't "connect" PDANet still sees it has appeared. But thanks to this guide it's now working as a pseudo-modem AND a USB device both. Kudos.

I was wondering if you could post some step by step instructions on how to make that short cut in Launcher Pro. I know how to get the shortcut started but I am lost after that.

It should be under add>Shortcuts > Activities> Hidden Menu. The process for ADW is very similar.

go to the play store app, hit menu > settings > 4th box down is Auto-add Widgets. uncheck that box and return to the main menu. now you should be all set
^As said above.
I have GB market however, and to me it says "Auto add shortcuts". It depends if you're on ICS or GB to know which option you'll get.

Ok.. So here's the issue. I'm using Nova Prime.(This might not matter which launcher you use) And I noticed that if I uninstall Nova and use the stock launcher again, it shows shortcuts of things I have downloaded. Problem is most of these I already uninstalled while using Nova. But they still show on stock launcher. Is there a way to stop the Note from creating a shortcut icon on the home page so this doesn't happen? I really don't want to keep using a different home launcher knowing that in the background it will be creating home page shortcuts on the stock launcher. As I said when this happens they are present even If I uninstall the app while using a different home launcher..
Am curious to see if anyone else can recreate this issue. To do so, install something from the play store while using a different home launcher(Nova would be best since its what i'm using) and make sure to set Nova or whatever you are using to default then uninstall the app and uninstall the launcher. You should now see the app icon shortcut still present on the stock launcher and when you press it it says app not found or something.
Anyway thanks . Keep in mind if you uninstall your preferred launcher you will loose your settings so do it only if you want to. Either way I hope there is a way to stop our tab from creating "desktop shortcuts" in the background of other launchers:silly:
i think u can disable "create shortcut in desktop" in play store's settings

Auto add widgets is the one, if you uncheck it there will be no more shortcuts on homescreen when you download from playstore.

First of all, because my English is very poor. These words are translated into English by means of translation tools.
Restart your YOTA3,
then press the power and volume up button after the black screen.
Loosen your hand after the fall of the robot.
Press the power up and quick press the volume up button 3 times.
At this point, the RECOVERY menu appears.
The rest of you should know what to do.
After the resetting of the factory.
The first thing to do is to install a "ICEBOX" software without ROOT (he needs you to run a ADB command with PC to activate him as device manager.)
The ADB command is as follows:
adb shell adb shell dpm set-device-owner com.catchingnow.icebox/.receiver.DPMReceiver
With him, you may stop the software you do not want to run automatically, if necessary. Uninstall third party software that can be uninstalled.
Freeze:
com.journeyui.phonemanager
com.zhangyue.coolyota.major
com.zhangyue.coolyota.minor
The second thing is to install a "GO. google. installer. APK". He will help you install Google's basic functions.
The third thing is to install "YOTA.Launcher.APK" (its role is to specify an installed software to do Eink Launcher.

YOTA.Launcher.APK? YES! For me probably most valuable app for the EinkDisplay (EDP) by now!
Why? cause after few tricks you can use it, to launch every app you want on the EDP!
I used it in the following way:
1. use the apk from gor516don´s post to install it (on your own risk! cause no idea where it is from)
-->
the app icon apears, and you can start it from your AMOLED-Display (ADP) (nothing will happen on ADP). Turn and unlock your Y3, push the "o" in the middle or the left button. Than you can decide between mobestlauncher and the yota launcher. You know which one to choose --> list of probably all apps (systemapps included) apears. If You choose one of the app, than you will be able to start it evry time you unlock your EDP.
If you want to change the app to be started on the EDP than just turn Y3 to AD-side and click Yota-Launcher again (you wont see any feedback) but if you unlock EDP you will be able to choos new app to be started on the EDP!
Okay that is allready greate! BUT!
I tried to "bring" some launcher apps on the EDP and one worked, so now i can start every app i want on EDP! = )
i tried:
google now launcher (didn´t work probably because you cant make it a standard launcher)
Y3 original launcher (didn´t work)
than i just random picked Evie-Launcher (feel free to try another Launcher and dont forget to post which one worked!!!) from google play store (you cant make it standard launcher too, but Evie asks wether you want to do it now or later - > if you choose later than it works on EDP = )!
important:
apps, installed after yota-launcher had been installed, dont apear on the List!!! -> you installed new app you want to launch on ed, reinstall yota-launcher
and dont forget : reboot is allways good!
gor516don THANK YOU A LOT!
simple app launcher at F-Droid works.
HI! I need STOK RECOVERY! anyone have, give me please !
launchers on EDP
Is anybody aware of other launchers (except evie and f-droid-simple), which work with YOTA.Launcher.apk?
If one uses *#*#9738#*#* on the dialer to get into mirror mode, the fonts on the EDP are much better.
Does anybody have an idea how to get into mirror mode with a single click?

I found this app, could configure the shortcut appropriately, but the dialer does interpret this as a real call
and I receive from my provider the answer "no such number"?
If I type the code on the keypad, it works properly.
