how can I disassemble the upper back door? - HTC Desire S

Does anybody know how can I open the upper back door......
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cfCgPHw47Ho

i asked the poster of the video lets see if he replies

The inside behind the cover has obviously been cleaned on the slideshow...It will be very similar as on the Legend I have disassembled several times:
Heat up the part with a hairdryer (some guys use an oven) and using some plastic thin lever, carefully lift the cover (I would wedge it in the middle of the lower edge to avoid the plastic holding pads...)
Ÿou are heating the part up because there is a layer of foam rubber glued to both sides, so you want to melt the glue...
I have ripped the foam the very first time I disassembled my legend, but I used too much power and I broke the plastic tool inside, so then I had to use the thin blade from a cutter, but I kinda pressed the aluminum unibody there, so it became visible...

have a problem like this but how can I remove the top cover
to repair it ????

I have the same issue (as many others). How did you fix it?

i have the same problem, twice. My first DS had this problem, it took HTC (ic. Dynafix) three weeks to send me a replacement. But the new one has the same problem....

There is no upper backdor.. If it were there ,we should have used it. Or not at all.

What is the problem guys? I really don't follow...

U told the thread what instruments to use and that u need to heat up the backpanel to open it but id like more info on how he managed to seal it again resulting in a better fit of the back upper panel

So the problem really is that the cover/lid is not in its place as you'd like it? you don't actually need to get inside the phone?
In that case I'd try to push it inside a bit, maybe the pads just came loose...but if that doesn't hepl, I'd retur in in the shop...that's the only way to deal with this, because you have not much chances gluing it inside somehow...

Hey Micdoc, How did you fix the gap in back cover, can you give us some detailed steps on how to do it please, thank you

Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/IMG]

micdoc, can you provide a detailed step by step guide for doing this?!

first you have to open the back top case using that kind of tool,
you have to put it between the case and the housing at the place between the middle and the right place of the phone.
Then you have to change the double tape on the camera cover and put a new one it would be more sticky!
then you put it back and it's ok!

back cover on qtek 8310

Hi all,
I have the following isue: after I gave my qtek 8310 to my sister, it seems the back cover is somewhat broken or malformed because I cannot close it. My sister told me she hasn't done anything but it is possible she forced the back cover in some way. When I try closing the back cover, it doesn't fit well to the phone's body and doesn't make a click sound as usual. As a result it cannot be attached to the phone's body and fully closed. This happens even when there is no battery installed.
Visually I cannot see anything broken and the plastic seems OK. There are no obvious malformations.
Has anyone had such similar issue? Maybe I have to buy a new cover, however I haven't found any website to purchase spare parts for the qtek 8310.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!
yo! post here snapshots of the "unshut" back cover so that we may see how can we help ya
10x for the reply.
I will make the shots tonight with my camera and post the links.

Same problem
Hi, I have got the same problem. I have found, the back cover get broken because the battery was old and become "bigger" (got inflated by gas produced in battery by chemical reaction). I have changed the battery, but have not found way to repair the back cover. Maybe just use some hot temperature...
Got the same problem here: seems like the battery has curved (!) it has got a slight bump...
the battery doesn't fit properly anymore - same with the back-cover!
Also my battery drain is quite high... well, it's an 3 year old tornado
on the grey cover, inside, theres the 2 clips, one of them was bent downwards touching the surface, and thus i couldnt slide the cover on without it lopsided or loose. I just lifted the clip a little and fixed it. Be careful its like cheap plastic, felt like it would break easily

Spigen Neo Hybrid owners, I need help, cleaning the case, issues

I just got this case a few days ago, and I love it!! I'm wondering how you clean the black part though, I notice that you put it in any non super clean surface and it the black back gets smudged. See picture below, I've tried cleaning it with a micro cloth but it doesn't help much, i'm afraid to use any liquid, any suggestions?? Also I noticed that after a couple of days, the area around the camera and led flash is raised, not touching the back cover of phone, i didn't notice this until today, not sure if it was my fault putting it on or if this happened to anyone else? I bought it through amazon, and got a genuine code..

Yeah, its really the drawback from Neo Hybrid (the camera part). you can clean it with dishwashing liquid..
It's really easy to clean. Just take the case off, remove the plastic frame, and put a couple drops of dishwasher soap on it and a little bit of water. Rub the foam all over the case with your hands and rinse it off. Dry it as much as possible. The case will literally look brand new and will show those shiny sparkles on the black part again.
Thanks guys will try to clean it tonight..so the raised part around camera is normal?? I thought maybe I got a deffective one, doesnt bother me much I just wanted to make sure it wasnt just mine.
Sent from my GT-I9505G using Tapatalk 2
The phone itself is raised there, and they didn't cut it properly. It's not a huge problem but you can always cut it a little bit on the inside (and risk ruining the case in the process ).

I know this is an older thread, but did you have any luck cleaning the case op? I tried dish soap but it didnt work. I'm about to try using that industrial orange hand cleaner stuff because it is abrasive but that might realla damage the case... This smudge on the back of my case is killing me!

SmartWatch 2 - Inside (PHOTOS)

Have you ever wondered what's inside your SmartWatch 2 ? No need to google, you won't find. Here is what's inside. After a day from swiming pool some water got inside, no idea how , so I opened it to dry it because I couldn't turn it on. Now rests in dry rice, I will come back with and update if I could make it work again, also I need to find a way to glue the screen to the bottom / motherboard part ( 1st pic ) to make it waterproof again. I will keep you guys posted.

I had one break from diving in the ocean. The USB port is not a very good seal. Things like chlorine change the surface tension of water and may allow it to penetrate more than tap water.
I'm gonna be opening mine soon too. (I made a QI charging mod) but I want to see if I can put a coil on the inside, instead of the outside.
Well, that can be true, the port doesn't supports the pressure more than 1 meter.
Now seems it is working again! I glued the screen with a black silicone, looks like new.
While I don't think swimming with the watch was the best idea... I am truly impressed by your repairs and getting the watch to work again. Congrats, and thanks for posting the pictures!

Yup that was not a good idea, it's good to take a shower it it, not for swimming at all. Yeah, thank you, that was a challenge to open it and dry it. First I tought I completely lost it ... but seems it wasn't like that.
So, the screen is glued to the front glass I'm figuring. I broke mine and I'm guessing I need to replace the whole screen.
Yup, you are right, the front glass is glued to the screen / display. The only way will be to completely replace the front part (front glass and screen). Contact SONY Service and ask for a screen replacement, they will help you as long as you won't find replacement parts on eBay ... .
It would be great if you will keep us posted to see how you fix it.

I fixed it, purchased the LG G Watch
Perhaps at a future point in time I will find a cheap screen, cause at the current price of the watch it will cost me almost the same to repair it here in Romania (plus the time and frustration as the Sony service is out of town).

Lol, no
Just dropped it of the table (1.2m height) onto ceramic tiles, impact was on the side, picked it up and said "wow, it didn't break". 30 seconds later first cracks started to appear. 2 min later it looked like that.

[Q] Dust under camera glass

Hi all,
i've owned the OPO for about 7 months now and had no troubles except for one.
Somehow a good deal of dust was able to get behind the camera glass so that I preferred using the front cam because of the nicer looking pictures it took.
Today i've disassembled the part with the camera glass on it and cleaned the inside so i can take normal pictures again.
I thought i can share it with you:

No, but what I'm curious is how did you use this device to make the camera lens so dusty?
Dust shouldn't be able to gather underneath the glass unless it is exposed to the open.

That's a very good question!
I have no idea myself why this happened.. I have an office job and the phone always lays on a desk or is in my pocket.. and there's no dirt inside my pockets or on the desks.
I did have the same problem after 10 days of buying the phone.
I had to return the phone and I got refund for it.

Once you've removed the back cover (which was the hardest part for me) you only have to unscrew a few screws. But some are hidden, i suggest you to watch the ifixit teardown review while doing it. https://youtu.be/gNnUN8h_rVg
Dust in camera lens
Hello,
Is that any possible way stop the dust getting inside the camera. The service center technician says dust is getting inside through 3.5mm jack is that possible?

Spots in pictures

Just this afternoon I discovered that my Z3 has spots in its pictures. What do you guys make of this? I think it is dust or some other sort of particles. Not sure what I should do..

Had 1 big spot on my pictures too ,it showed up one week after i bought the device at the top of the screen. Then it moved to the middle and now it's gone.
I think that it's dust.
Had the same problem.
I tried everything including blasting the phone from every possible hole with compressed air. Nothing worked so I contacted the local authorized repair center. After a week. the called me and told me that the phone is fixed. When I asked them what was the issue, they told me that the camera module was replaced. I'm taking this information with a grain of salt, because I have had a similar problem with my CybersShot - the problem was a spec of dust on the sensor.
I was a little spectral about the waterproofing so when I got the phone i tried the pressure test and it was OK. Since then I have tried it in a pool and it's OK.
Here you can see my photos with the spot - http://forum.xda-developers.com/z3/help/dark-spot-photos-t2986834
Let me know if you have any questions and hope you get it fixed soon.

Looks near identical. I'll bring it to the store soon to get it fixed, but that has to wait a couple of weeks.
Cannot imagine that they will refuse to fix it under warranty, the thing is supposed to be dustproof after all. Hopefully they can fix my rattle as well at the same time..
The strange thing for me was that the camera module is covered by an additional foam, meaning that dust particles should not enter the camera lens and it's surroundings . That's the reason why I was not able to blast the dust with air.
You can see what I'm talking about on the right pic -
Well, mine has been open for repairs. Maybe that's part of the cause..

Perhaps you have a different sensor, or motherboard, now. But that's definiately dust on the sensor.
Well sort of good news, mine got repaired. It took 6 weeks and two attempts. Allthough the first camera module swap was succesfull, I received my phone damaged and making a rattle sound.
I'm hoping this time the rattle won't return, because they did a beautiful job fixing the phone. The tolerances are better than when I got it new..
One thing to look out for is the Camera Lens manages to get marks on the camera just from being in my pocket.
My lens still looks sharp. No furthers issues to report after my repairs.
