Help with EeePad PC Suite - Eee Pad Transformer Themes and Apps

I have Windows 7 and I am trying to install the Eeepad PC suite on my Desktop but seems do DL fine but then when I click on it to install it will say "Internet Connectivity error". I am connected though. Then I click OK and Start to try it anyway and it just hangs at "Preparing".
Any help would be appreciated.

There's a post here that will help.

The e pad suite is install on the laptop/pc to let out sync with your tablet

I'm trying to get PC Suite to I have Windows Vista. I don't see it on Asus website. Splashtop was the free app a few days ago from Amazon but I was told I don't need that on my tablet cause it already comes with it. Do I need to download both EXE's at the top the Asus Sync and the splashtop both to my PC and i have Vista are those the correct EXE files? Thanks!

Go to splashtop website on your pc. http://www.splashtop.com/remote Download 'get streamer' and install on pc. Follow setup instructions.
Open apps on TF, find MyCloud and open My Desktop and hit search for devices. Should find your PC. Input you password, that you set up on your PC when following the instructions when installing the streamer.
Thats it.

OMG! Thank you that is too cool! First it said couldn't connect and now it's connected and I am typing on my desktop and my Google Chrome opened on my tablet with all my tabs and everything. I'll have to figure out how to maneuver around on the tablet to get to stuff on my desktop but thanks! As I type on pc I see it typing on tablet and when I went to my desktop on my pc it went to desktop on tablet. So actually I can go to my movies folder or my Tivo recorded shows folder from pc and see it on my tablet and leave it there till I get to work. Now can I access all this away from home? Thanks So Much!
Edit: OMG one more question? I just went to email someone on computer and of course my tablet went to my Incredimail does that mean I can download and read my mail on the tablet using splashtop? So I don't really need to configure my emails on the tablet? Can I click on get new mail from the tablet? Now I want a little bluetooth mouse will that work with this app? Oh and never mind I saw the arrow thing on my email and it let me touch to get new mail and it did work on the tablet. I can click on compose mail from tablet and I see where I can bring up a keyboard wow! Didn't think it would work before but now I see keyboard. I love what all this does. But I have one more last question I keep editing this so sorry. I was on tablet and went to the desktop and my computer and K which is my external drive and I have a Tivo recorded shows folder and it started playing the show but the volume wasn't good. It opened windows media on the tablet and I turned that volume up and then my tablets Volume was way up. Guess there's no way to make it louder? I keep volume muted on my PC but I am sure turning that way up won't help on tablet will it? Funny thing is I just got an email and heard it on the tablet the notification sound. LOL! But anyway thanks again love this app and the tablet is so awesome. Maybe it depends on the sound once it's recorded. But anyway I appreciate your help. I did get diconnected a couple times but it reconnected right back. Hope this will work outside of my house like at work on break.

You probably found out by now that you have total control of your pc from your tablet. There are a few limitations thou and Windows Media Center will not work via splashtop been one of them.
The volume should be automatically controlled via the software. i.e it should mute as soon as you remote access to your pc from your tablet and the sound played on the tablet??What format are the tivo recorded programs in? Im not familiar with a tivo platform. You could try an alternative method thou.
Open Windows Media Player on PC >click on Stream tab> Tick Automatically allow devices to play media and allow remote control of player.
Now left click on video folder and check that default save location is C:Users\Public\Videos
This can be changed to, lets say a folder where you recorded files from the tivo are,but for now lets keep it to the default settings.
Now place a recorded program in to C:Users\Public\Videos
Next find the app MyNet and open it. It should find your PC. With your Public Folders, Music.Videos.Pictures.Playlists
Open Video and play file.
I cant remember if any details are needed when the app is open for the first time. May need your pc ip address.I look into this and update details later, if needed.
It was a while ago when i set it up.
Edit. You need Windows Player 11 or later and DLNA-based Windows 7 OS...
Just noticed that your on Vista.... but this link will help with you tivo play back issue..

Thanks, I am not sure what format my Tivo shows are in but they say .tivo I think and they play right off WMP on my computer but to transfer them to phone or somewhere else you have to turn them into AVI or Mpeg I forget now I have an app that strip the Tivo wrapper and turns it into something else but I forget what file it is. But it's working now and it's all good now I think.
It just didn't work tonight on dinner break at work it wouldn't connect. Splashtop wrote me on FB and said I need to login on tablet and streamer with my gmail in a certain spot and I did and will try it again tomorrow. But it works great I love seeing my desktop and accessing my music and movies. My windows media center quit working a while ago it closes out when you try to open and I get some error message but I don't really use it. But this app is good. I already was using one called Audio Galaxy on my phone to stream my music. But this does it too.
All of a sudden just now my tablet rebooted. I had a game up Hanging with Friends and all of a sudden my screen went white and it rebooted scared me when I saw the white screen. Now to figure out how to add a widget to your home screen? Thanks!
orking ok once

hi, yeah sorry i mean to remote control a win7 pc, I cant find anything on marketplace called logmein, only comes up with phonemypc which ive tried and dont like.
How do i get this "logmein" ?
there was a .apk download somewhere here on the xda site, do a search for "logmein ignition beta" or something like that. you will also need a logmein account, its free and you need to download and install a virtually invisible program on your computer.
ok so it would seem that the beta is over (strange as mine is still running fine) but if you go here https://secure.logmein.com/welcome/android/, you might find what you are looking for when it is released, unless anyone else can find the download link.

Hmm the only one I've actually liked is phonemypc. Sure it doesn't have sound and no login support yet, but nothing beats getting to see your pc screen on your phone with 20 fps
I've also tried Remote RDP, but it didn't give me anywhere near the framerates of phonemypc on my part, plus setting up RDP is more of a pain if you want to use it over 3G.

Gmote basically turns your phone into a mouse control for a HTPC...
not the same thing...
Can someone describe the differences between phonemypc and logmein? I currently use phonemypc and like it, but if there's something that would suite me better, I'd switch.

Not true, my friend uses it to control windows media center, you have to make the remote how you want it, he said its not obvious at first but once you figure it out you can program virtually any command in

Believe me, the BEST of all!!
xtralogic.com/rdpclient.shtml
Gmote is a great start: Stream music from the computer to the phone, Control PowerPoint, Use as a mousepad, Use to control windows media player, Use keyboad on phone to type on computer (Don't know why you would but neat anyway), Free version available but only us$2.99....BUT only on the wifi network, not remote thru cell towers..Xtralogic's Remote Desktop Client is a complete RDP with password protect and can be use anywhere!! BUT is US$19.95.....So there are 2 options depending on what suits your needs...Hope that helps!!!

What you should do is google 'RDP' and then see if your definition works along the lines of GMotes functionality.
To answer your question in short, no it doesnt.

I tried a couple of rdc's and Phonemypc was the best. Its one of my three favorite apps. Setup is an absolute breeze and the developer says sound will be added. Picture is great watching video so after sound it'll be perfect.
Hey people, thanks for the comments, I tried gmote it doesnt even recognise a simple .avi file on my Pc, was easy to setup and connect but i need it to play movies.
Does anyone have a .apk of the xtralogic rdp??

Posting of the .apk is not allowed because it is a paid app. But I agree, I have tried every other RDP client for android, and this is tops. If you need great RDP support on your phone, its worth it.

Wifi Sync

Hello, I am looking for an android app that when i connect to my home wifi it looks for a folder on my computer and syncs whatever is in it onto a folder in my SD card. Any good recommendations?
Its not 100% exactly what you described, but have you tried Dropbox? Syncs a folder on your computer with the service, and you can sync that with the dropbox app on your phone.

You're basically describing Dropbox. As long as you have a data connection you can access anything in the folder and view/download straight to your phone. I keep all my root stuff in Dropbox so I don't need to keep it on sd card. That way anything I need, I downoad, use, and delete. Plus, it allows me to search and download roms while at work and then when I get home they automatically update to my home computer for flashing.
Click the referral link in my sig and we both get an extra 500mb of space (I have an edu email address). You have to install the desktop application to get your referral credit though.
EDIT - REFERRAL LINK
Hey thank you for the replys so far. I do have drop box and I do love it! But I am looking for that one extra step at the end. What I don't like about drop box is I have to then manually download the files from it to my phone. Basically want once I connect to my home wifi it reaches out to my pc and syncs with a folder on it to a folder on my sd automatically. I don't mind if I have to setup a share or file server on my pc.

I have kinda found what i was looking for in Android Manager Wifi. here is a link:
http://www.appbrain.com/app/android-manager-wifi/com.mobileaction.AmAgent
It has many options, one being able to select a folder on ur computer and one on your SD card for them to sync up automatically. Testing out to see how REALLY automated the whole process is. But none the less this is a great app for many things it seems. People should definitely check it out!
Didn't Double Twist just implement that? Need the "pay" version ($.99), but it has something called Air Synch. Look into this and let me know if it is what you want.

Checked out Double Twist Air Sync and its not bad. But seems to only do music, videos, pics and playlist syncing. I need it to be able to do any kind of file/folder. But for multimedia people out there its something to check out.
Syncables is a broader sync solution than Double Twist

I've read similar critiques of Double Twist. I prefer Syncables through and through - and it think that's more of what you're looking for. Syncables will sync any type of folder, media file, spreadsheet, email, and even browser bookmark. It also syncs between Macs and PCs and smartphones like Droid and BlackBerries.
It has a wider suite of sync/backup/share products than the more niche Double Twist product...oh, and it has wireless sync capability using WiFi, as well.
I am actually writing an app that does exactly what you want. It's not done but the functionality is there to sync a folder (with no PC client needed). If you want to help me test it you can PM me with an email address to send you the APK.
Yea i will check it out. Sent you a PM
Just a random idea but is there an app that works with dropbox and automatically downloads changes to it to your SD card? Seems like that would also be sweet for alot of people.

Hi mcnally,
I have successfully used 'droid VNC server' in the past.
What VNC client are you using on your desktop? I have used tightvnc, realvnc and ultravnc (they all do the same thing, just differently)
I had assumed that keyboards & mice were configured automatically, but there can be a "view only" option that may have stopped your keyboard & mouse from interacting.
Also - sometimes VNC is quite laggy, so laggy it looks like its not responding! your client should have a setting to reduce the color depth, this transmits less data & can help the lag but you loose colours. There may also be settings to reduce data transfer further, like handling the mouse on the client side etc...

[Q] connecting ipad/iphone to asus

I was wondering, is there any app that allows you to connect ipod/ipad to the asus transformer via the usb? Perhaps copy the music or send pictures over or something.
Sorry for the repost, i have no clue how to delete that post.
The best you can do is pull the photos off, just like connecting your iDevice to a computer without iTunes.
Apple has the internal storage locked down on iDevices so you are forced to use iTunes. That makes it more 'convenient' to use iTunes to purchase everything.
Sent from my Transformer TF101 using xda premium
If you are wanting to copy over music and photos, maybe you could use something like Box from the (android) market, not sure if there is one is the appstore or not, but I know that Box has a special until 3/24 maybe that gives you 50gb of storage.
Maybe browse both the market and appstore and see if there are any apps that are in both and try to do it that way. Could use Dropbox but by the time is all got uploaded, your Top-40 hits would be Classic Rock.

There is a very good reason why these sort of apps give a notification on the screen - it is so that anyone using the PC at that time knows that what they are doing is being watched.
As for doing this without downloading anything to the remote PC - not possible. Even if it is malware hidden in a spam email it will need to download something.
To do it without notification would either make you a spy or a stalker
To that end I'm going to report this thread for the Mods to decide on.

If you just want something that you can use to log in without actually having a user sat at the remote PC then you should look at LogMeIn - it's what I use for managing my customer's EPoS kit as I can just assign a fixed password to the machine and log in whenever I want to. They still get a notification on the screen that I've connected, but that's all.
