Google music beta invite - General Questions and Answers

I don't know if this is possible nor have any idea of how to do it but I was thinking is there any way to make Google think you have a xoom for a short time on your rooted phone to get a music beta invite?

Replace your Build Prop with the one from a XOOM. Lol jk, that'll mess up your phone.

So no ideas!

Can instruct how to do so but before doing so:
- Attach XOOM build.prop
- Attach PC36100 build.prop

PC36100 bp:
cat /system/build.prop > /sdcard/build.prop
Xoom bp:
- Have a XOOM user do the same successfully
- Download a XOOM rom and pull the bp
- Ask for someone to post it here for you

Just a note: I have a XOOM and still have not received an invite so your mileage may vary even if you do trick the system. Best of luck!

May you post your phone's build properties file so that I may assist the OP in his goal to trick his phone into believing that it is a Motorola XOOM?

No problem
EDIT: Replace your Evo 4G build.prop with the one attached. Should work for you then. Now every app will think you have a XOOM.

I tried to install it in gingerbread. After installing my system kept giving me the no more space error when trying to install apps. Does this one use more memory than previous markets? I'm sure gingerbread takes up it's fair share already.

It at least works on this phone, and should on others. Just backup your market and try it. If it doesn't work, just restore the original.

Stop complaining. Nothing wrong with posting things like this in different forums/sub-forums. Not everybody ventures every part of this website. It can be found in main Android forum but not too many people actually venture. So far you are the only one complaining.

I'm already convinced that until their is more figured out about gingerbread on our device, or someone modifies the new market for 2.3.3 on our device, it simply will not work. There has not been a whole lot of optimization besides deodexing, and gingerbread already seems a little jammed into our device (have to delete bloat for a little system rom space). I can imagine that the bells and whistles in the new market, along with the rest of gingerbread's goodness, takes the phone to it's limits (although when I check it, it seems to have plenty of available memory).

You can set permission through adb:
Navigate to your adb directory and type:
Code:
adb shell
su (go to phone select allow)
cd /system
busybox chmod 777 /system/app
busybox chmod 644 /system/app/*
reboot
No guarantee this will fix your problems but it should fix any permission issues.
Edit:
oops wrong thread.
But Thank you for the Info.
I'm liking the New market.
Edit 2.
Has anyone noticed some apps are not showing up.

It's an app that was specifically for the Samsung galaxy SIII, but we are able to port to our phones now that we have the ics based roms. Is basically like Siri for Android

well I saw that you can download a hacked .APK for S voice that will work on any ICS phone, so I downloaded the .APK to use on my S2 w/ ICS on it. Now when I go to install it I get a message that says "Application not installed", can any one help me fix this so I can install it? I have seen people on youtube doing it with the S2 so I know it should work on my S2.

Didn't work for me it FC's as soon as I say "Hi Galaxy"
Sent from my SGH-T959V using xda premium
doesn't fc, but the main button freezes right after first command, then I have to kill it to fix it. The other buttons work like help and disable voice response. Also, the only command that seemed to work was "Hi Galaxy". Then it said hi. Other commands I tried included "call mom", and the response I got was "calling mom" and then freeze. The back button clears the messages on the board, but functions are useless.

How to make a theme for Alien Droid (VIDEO)

Feeling lazy right now: Go to [URL = wehostforyou.webs.com ]wehostforyou.webs.com[/URL] and download a template. Then put your own images in it with the same names. If you are making a battery mod, be sure to define if it is a 1% mod or a normal mod by placing a blank file called Bnormal or Bpercent in the folder SystemUI/res/drawable/. that's all I will say right now. Its very simple, You just need to explore some
