I am trying to connect in Media Sync mode with my Thunderbolt {Das Bamf Remix 1.6.1) and keep getting an MTP USB Device driver installation error. Have searched high and low with no luck.
Any thoughts? Is this related to the thunderbolt, or perhaps a Rom issue?
I have also tried with a stock incredible 2 with the same results.

So about a week ago i installed The latest version of CleanRom and LeanKernel on my GS3, and I wanted to put a ton of music on my New 32gb SD card, and when i plugged it into my PC, it said usb unrecognized. I installed all drivers, still says unrecognized, and my phone is stuck Charging Via Usb and shows none of the normal options such as charge only, or use as drive.
Ive looked through many threads and Googled many things, and havent been able to find a solution. It seems as if the Driver on the phone itself isnt installed.
The Error says USB is unrecognized and may have Malfunctioned
Can Anyone Help? Please and thanks for Taking your time!
Running CleanRom 5.5.1 and LeanKernel 1.2.1
Android Version 4.1.1
Known issue with the S3, its hit or miss so just keep unplugging it and pluggin it back in.
Mess with disabling debugging as well, sometimes that helps.

Hi Guys,
I have an Nexus s on stock running 4.1.2 kernal 3.0.31
I'm only new to smartphones and I think i made a boo-boo. While connect over usb, i turned off mass storage mode and pulled out the cable. I only then realised that I should have safely ejected on Windows 7 before turning off mass storage mode.
Now my computer will not even recognize the device. It pops of "usb device not recognised"
I tried installing the samung usb drivers - no results
I tried unistalling some usb ports in device manager in windows and rebooting - no results
help!!!!!
Thanks in advance
I just installed the pdaNet application for windows and that didn't recognize the nexus either!!!
Should I factory reset the phone?
i really wanna install Cyanogen Mod as the phone is running quite slow!!
I recently rooted and unlocked my bootloader on my N5 and now cannot for the life of me get MTP installed on my W7 PC. Ive tried using Wugs to clear drivers and reboot and reinstall but all it does is install ADB Interface driver.
Ive also changed USB port, used my N5 USB cable, and also cleaned drivers but nothing. In occasion when looking in USB Deview it shows an MTP driver but it just wont do a thing. Ive unticked MTP and switched to camera and back. Nothing.
So, I tried my N7 and surprise, the same thing has happened. Ive installed SDK and tried updating drivers, still nothing. Ive been at it for about 7 hours all in and about to throw the phone at the wall.
Can anyone offer an advice. ive read posts and tried the suggestions there but nought. I vaguely recall a programme that will wipe any naughty bits of rogue drivers (once uninstalled) but cant remember the name of it.
In portable devices I have E/ drive.
No one out there who can help??
I have an SCH-i535 running CM-11, M3-SNAPSHOT. My desktop is running Linux Mint 16 in one partition and Win 7 in another.
I cannot get the phone to show up when plugged into a USB hub. It isn't simply that MTP is not working, but that the USB connection doesn't even show up in dmesg. I have android debugging turned on and have tried to connect via adb in recovery also. In no situation have I been able to establish any sort of USB connection since changing to M3. Setting/toggling MTP under settings>>storage>>menu>>USB computer connection also fails.
I have also tried to connect from my Win 7 partition and nothing shows up at all.
Does anyone have any suggestions other than going back to 10.2?

I did not have an issue with the M7 snapshot. I have not yet tried for the M8.
Hi,
I'm using this CM 11 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2922500 but I have strange problem with my laptop. It periodically looses driver information for my device. I don't know how but when I re-installed my OS Windows 7 (32bit) it found the proper driver. Later I've got a message that my USB device is not recognized and can't connect to my device. Does anyone else have the same problem and do you know a fix? I've tried a lot and different driver versions but without success. Logcat doesn't show anything last time but I will try later or when I loose drivers again (it seems I cannot use USB again).
BTW I don't have this problem with my desktop PC which has always connected USB cable to it. Also everything works fine with CM 10.1, MIUI or Sense ROMs but they are based on lower Android versions.
P.S. I was trying to connect with another USB cable. I've found my cable that I used to install drivers and USB is working again. This is really strange behaviour
Logcat from device terminal
Logcat when plug in or out my USB connector is attached.
