I just tried to get Netflix running on my gtablet (works great on my evos)

I havent had any luck. Works great on my dinc. Someone will get it working soon. This is the only thing I'm missing on my grab that i really want.

That's because maps works on the 4.5 version. It is missing from 4.0 and 4.9.
Im still having some issues with apps downloading from the market and a majority of the apps not even working, sometimes causing the phone to hang on a black screen. I have to remove the battery from the phone to get it work. Im sure Haykuro knows about it, but i was hoping someone might have found something to get it working :-D
Would anyone be able to port the Android Tips widget from Froyo to 2.1. It must be able to run on 2.1, as the Droid X has the widget and is running 2.1 ...

Did you try pushing the apk?
just tried pushing the Protips.apk and Protips.odex to my CM .8t5 install.
Lol, had to reflash my rom as it got stuck booting.
i tried installing the apk on my unrooted incredible with no luck. it looked as if it would install but just gave a generic "not installed" error. I'm guessing some modification of the apk has to be done to get it to work.

one last bump in hopes someone can get this to run on an unrooted phone. I don't think it has anything to do with Eclair to Froyo...the app allows you to try to install it, but fails.

I downloaded the app ok and it installed ok. But when I go to start the app, all I get is my screen going to landscape mode, it goes blank for about 1/2 sec then comes back the Android screen. Nothing happens. I have tried this many times. I try to uninstall it, it will be refunded. Then If I try and install it again, I'll get charged again. I don't want to have a chain of installs and uninstalls.
it runs perfectly on the ZenEXP-0.9.6.2 New Expresso MT3G Slide rom. That rom has the best performance in my opinion. i tried the backbreaker game and it ran perfectly only oc'd at 672mhz. The other roms i tried, damage and icerom, ran great also but as far as the game went, it was choppy. What rom are you running? Maybe u should try to flash the rom i mentioned above and see if it works. Hope this helps
hmmm. I'm using the Darchdroid v2.7 "KangSlayer" rom. Didn't think a rom would cause this. I'll try the rom you mentioned and see how that goes. Thanks
Looks like you are right it works with that Zen rom. I was really like the Darch rom though. Decisions, decisions.
I know that at the very least, it doesnt work with Darch's 2.7, but works on stock. Could it have to do with the overclock?

That's the only thing I can think of too. But why would an app not work because of overclocking?
Well between all of us, I'm doing a review of the app for the site I write for, and their support said "their app is very cpu intensive, and they dont support custom roms, so it probably has to do with the overclock."
I even tried butting Darch's 2.7 back on without the uv kernel, still nothing.
Well I went back to the Fresh Toast and it works on there. I even have overclocking on in that rom as well. I saw the where people mentioning this in the Darch 2.7 thread. Oh well. I was kinda liking that rom too.

yea the Zen rom does have a few quirks but its a pretty solid rom.

I dont think so, im Oc'd at 671mhz and it runs fine
I downloaded this LWP that came for the 2.2 update for the Galaxy S line. Problem is that it seem to force close when you try to select it. This is the link to the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=798282 Seems they were never able to really get it to work on most devices. This is a greak LWP and wish we can get it working on our Dincs. Hopefully someone can make it work.

i decided to rip it apart to see what it looks like
its pretty weird
i dont know much but i know enough to go ahead and say theres something else its depending on in the touch wiz ui (froyo)

EDIT: This is hit and miss. It DOES work on my phone (GingerBeast ROM), I am having reports that it does not work for most though. Many are stating they get audio and no video.

Just tried it and I'm able to log into my account and even select a movie but, when it plays, there is only sound and I don't get video. Running ace 1.01 if that makes a difference

Yup, 10.3 installed from market right before the attempt on both CM7 and RCMix for me.
Backup your build.prop file and try this.

As dumb as this may sound, I have to rely on someone else to try this method and report back. I'm "uptime" testing a Rom, and can't reboot. :-(
And also, 6 minutes and 23 seconds into Top Gear, and it just crashed on my phone...So it's officially not stable on my Rom either. :-(

Well no luck running RCKingdom v0.2 and doesn't play at all but lets you browse. Sill early, I'm sure some dev will get it working in no time.

Inspire 4g on CoreDroid 6.3 with latest LeeDroid Kernal. Sound but no video. Even though it's half functional, I'm just happy the app is finally out instead of them ***** footing around release dates. Soon enough we'll be golden.
I'm running leedroid 3.0.3 and I'm still getting the white screen of Doom
I just tried it in gingerbeast and it doesn't work. I shows a black screen for 13 seconds and then it does back to the movie list.

I just made the edits, doing a double reboot now, I'll post results

Is there such a thing as a resource monitor for Android? I ask this, because my room mate has the Captivate, and it works fine. Always. Maybe witha monitor of some sort, we could see what resources are being used on the Captivate -vs- the Inspire and kinda compare from there?
Obviously these are two different phones, but the general concept of functionality should not be too far off.

Top gear is by far the best show on TV. Btw I'm running aosp rc1 and video and audio worked for about 15 seconds and now nothing

The room mate and I are gonna try to crack this case tonight! The plan is very stupid, but whatever. haha.
The basic principle of functionality should be equal clean across the board. It has to be the lack of a file or files that is preventing this. The hardware itself is VERY capable of working. This leads use to our conclusion...
I already had drmprovider.apk in my system folder, but did not have drmua.apk.
Tried adding this file and no dice.
Basically, if I already have the file, it will remain untouched. Anything else will be merged in, until it either works, or crashes the phone. I DO NOT SUGGEST OTHERS TRY THIS. I personally don't care, because I have insurance, under warranty, etc.
If we make any progress I will keep you all informed. And well...If I brick my phone, then I'll see you all in a few days. haha
