So I have been utilizing the Asus MyCloud unlimited web storage but ironically cant actually access from my TF. Using it on my PC's is flawless however every time I try and use it on the TF I get an error message saying "Oops, Communication error". Is anyone else able to get theirs to work properly from the TF?
EDIT: Also, when I try and upload from the TF I get another error message saying " Invalid Long:""
I get the communication error often too and usually when it happens I just use the search devices link and it finds my computer again assigned to a different ip. I don't even bother saving my password anymore because it asks me to retype it each time a new ip is assigned. It's a pain, but it works 90% of the time. When it doesn't work, I use Wyse Pocketcloud instead and can usually connect that way.

You can prevent your PC from getting new IP by reserving your IP in your router/access point.
So Im confused here. Im not actually trying to access my PC, im trying to access my Asus Cloud storage. Are you saying I need to go through my pc to get to my cloud storage???

Mine is working fine...when you configure the MyCloud, did you do it from the transformer? I don't see how you got unlimited without going through the transformer myCloud. And if you did...are you able to get to @vibe Radio and Music and only the asus webstorage is not working?
Maybe go into application management and delete the data for mycloud and asus webstorage and try to log in again.

Hello guys,
I had my phone working on my home network, but after wiping it to try a new ROM, I cannot connect back to my Windows 8 network.
Previously I was on a Homegroup on 5 PC's in my home... all the same local user account name and NO password.
Now I get a Login Failure message Using ES file explorer on my phone which lists some things that could be at fault, but none seem right. Ive been trying to change sharing options on my main PC to see if that helps, but it doesnt.
My phone "sees" the main computer when I do a LAN server scan, but clicking on the found server the error says it may be caused by: "WiFi is off, SMB server is out of network scope, The IP is invalid, Blocked by the firewall, SMB service is off" None of which I think are correct since I have not changed anything on the pcs up till now.
Astro is even less helpful and says: "No Windows shares found on network"
Any ideas?
Thanks guys,
Mark.
Even same thing happening to me. I assume win8 network is a complete ****... well.. I hope someone has answer....
Did you ever figure this out?
Same problem on my Win7 box, although it seems to come and go...

Make a backup of it from your phone via titanium and restore the back up to your device. Start with the app only first. Then do data only. When you open the app it'll ask you to register your phone number again. Type in your phone number. You'll get a text code on your phone to put in the Asus for verification. Put the Asus in portrait mode so you can see the input box and type in the code from your text. You cant see the box in landscape. That's it.
The only issue is you can only use the app 1 device at a time. So if you use it again on your phone it will ask to register again on your phone. And also on the tablet you'll get a confirm verification pop up every like 15 min or so since it no longer registered. Same on your phone once it becomes unregistered. I don't know how to get around this so I freeze the app temporarily til I wanna use it again.

Hey Sacob;58210707,
I have about the same problem as Chrome cant fine the https://www.192.168.1.xxx:8890 (where xxx is my private 3
digit number.)
Have you tried the https://www.192.168.1.xxx:8890 (replace the xxx with your 3 digit numer before the 8890) listed on the page after Activate "FIND" page?
Should be done ONCE, and NOT popping up every time we login to airdroid.
And . . .
Can't connect via USB which would be the BEST of the ways to connect to Airdroid in the first place since we
1. wouldn't be transferring in the net using up battery that WIFI uses on both devices, android and pc.
and
2. Would be charging our phones, which is super biggy plus.
And. . .
When airdroid downloaded its very own new update today, it said that it couldn't install because of parsing something.
Ain't that a hoot?
And. . .
When I went on airdroid.com> signed in> and finally found an Icon called "Widgets" it went to a calendar and NO, (that is absolutely no,) way to get out of the calendar page,
Even frantically tapping the big "" X "" on the lower left of their "calendar" page.
Ctrl with Arrow Back didn't work either cause some web builder thought that key combo should be shut OFF.
So I had to completely log out and log back in, (username and password again,) to go to the page the mean little "Widgets" Icon was located.
So.. . . to sum up . .
The ONLY thing that works on this app, so far, is that I can use ONLY, is the on-board Android "Apps" part on my S3 itself, and NO way to communicate with my pc.
Which by the way was handled greatly with any Android File managers.
Where do we find support?
Thanks for this topic!
Hi guys
Due to unforeseen consequences during a holiday, a beer bottle got dropped on my phone and it cracked the screen. Now I want to take a backup of my photos before I send for repairs and I will appreciate any help I can get! Here are the details:
Phone: Sony Xperia Z3 Compact
Firmware: Stock Sony Kitkat, non rooted
Screen: Cracked, funny colours cannot see anything on the screen and touch does not work
USB Debugging Mode: Off
Wifi: On
Resources Available: OTG cable, AndroidLost is installed (its for finding your lost phone with a multitude of other useful features as well - https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.androidlost), MHL cable ordered online and on the way...
So firstly, I plugged in the phone to my laptop and could not open the Internal Storage as I had a pattern lock set up. But thankfully, using Androidlost I could unlock the phone remotely (it resets and disables the lock). Once it opened I could see that my internal storage was full (around 11 gigs) and I could browse all my files. I didn't have the time to transfer my files at the time so I thought I will do it later and switched everything off. This happened once more when I accessed it from another laptop but again got interrupted and decided to back it up later.
Now strangely, the third time I tried this (and on multiple laptops now), the Internal Storage is only showing 7.5gb of 11gb used, and when I open it most folders are missing and most files are missing from the folders which are present. It may be some weird issue of MTP or MSC mode or something, not sure.
I've ordered an MHL cable so I can plug in to my TV and see if the files are present if I browse through the phone. Its really weird though, wonder how the files disappeared if they have.
I also tried to access my phone through an Ubuntu machine but was not successful in mounting it.
And I also tried to put in an SD card and browse that through a laptop, and I could do that but the internal storage remained the same.
One path I was following - using Android Lost I can open any app on my phone remotely. I can install any app using Google Play store on a browser. I can figure out the LAN IP address through my router/netscan. Is there any app you think I can install to remotely make my phone an FTP server or something so I can browse my files that way? The only problem is I cannot click 'Start' or anything which most such apps require so once the app is launched everything else must be remote-doable.
Thanks for taking out the time to read this!

Very lengthy question.
So you want to make your phone an FTP server. I have a great solution for that
Install the legendary ES File Explorer from the Play Store
Select Remote Manager from the option, it will turn on WIFI hotspot and also give a FTP address. Just connect your PC with wifi and enter the addresss in any web browser you want
That's all
Hit thanks if helped

Hi Sushant,
thanks for reading the whole thing and for your suggestion.
I can install ES File Explorer. I can start the app remotely using Android Lost. Problem is, I cannot use my screen so I cannot go to the options and select remote manager.

i really really want to help OP but i cant think of the name of the app. its something like vlc, vhc, vcl, the point is. you can control the screen remotly over the same wifi network. i think if you could install the app remotly and install it on your computer, you would be able to unclock it remotly because you can see the screen on your computer.
if i remember the name i will post it for you. good luck OP!
Thank you Phurkus! I think you may be referring to VNC.
I found an app called 'VNC Server' that you can connect to using Real VNC on your computer. But after launching this app, it needs me to tap 'On' before it starts so again, no-go.
I'll search around for an app that uses VNC that doesn't require any set up on the android side besides just being installed and launched. Thanks again!
I was really looking forward to being able to use my phone from my laptop, but it wont finish installation. i've been stuck on check your phone / check your computer, i did have my note 8 connected and thought it might be interfering so i've removed it from the ms account. It looks as though my computer is not sending the key code to my phone...
any ideas?
thanks
Connecting over wifi or bluetooth? You need to change a setting to allow it to use mobile data if you are using bluetooth and not wifi.
I just get an error, " something happened, please try later". Tried later, still the same.
Not sure if it's because my laptop is connected to the phones hotspot, but that's all I use so I dont currently have an alternative.

Do you sign in to your laptop using MS account?
Exactly the same problem here.
Tried uninstalling My Phone Companion on the laptop and the Microsoft app on the phone.
Note 8 worked perfectly
